It took me a long time to realize why he did it, and in the end I think there were two main reasons: To help the actual final boss stand out, and to sound closer to the Vader Eloha fight in the original OFF. This music is super cool, creepy, and all over the place, much like Pandemie Inverse. Played back to back, the two could easily blend into each other. I think Felix wanted to make the final fight against The Batter (sorry, I meant, The Executioner,) more memorable, and making sure it had unique music was just one of the ways he accomplished this. But if you just got done listening to this music right beforehand, Pandemie Inverse would lose some of its effectiveness. The second reason he might have made the switch might have been to keep the original mood of the Vader Eloha fight. In OFF, the music that accompanied her fight was primarily meant to sound sad, but at the same time kept a certain rhythm that kept it from moving too slowly. As great as Queen of Spades is, there is no denying that it sounds vastly different from The Meaning of His Tears. These are just my thoughts on the matter. I could be completely wrong. HOME is an excellent game that gave us many of the things I would hope for in an OFF sequel. Felix truly left behind something great.
It would not fix the context of the fight, it would not draw out the same emotions and that's why it was changed. I don't think the composer is any less proud of this, but I think that it had to change for the overall fight to have a certain feel of hopelessness and grief. It needed a doomsday vibe, something miserable and melancholy. This is a really well made piece of music and I would say it is more fitting for a fight, but it doesn't work as well in the game, this piece is malicious, the new piece is more regretful, it works much better for the mood.
I'm assuming this was edited out due to not getting the "true feel" of the bossfight. It's a creepy woman with tentacle hands idk lol Still this track is awesome.
Wow I keep forgetting to comment here again, but uh, hi, I managed to find an even older version of this song on my computer, I would be able to send it to you if you want to contact me and upload it!

Well, generally speaking, more people seem to find this to be the superior theme. Great job everybody thanks for enjoying my stuff
Yeah, it's amazing!
I fuckin love this track but the compression kinda kills it for me
Sampling Kid it definitely is. The current theme is only there because of context; your theme is better overall. Great music artist, you are.
Ashes to ashes.
Dust to dust.
In more ways that one
Why was this song replaced by a slowed down piano track? This is godly in comparison.
Yeah it really is. Felix' decision to replace the track is kinda questionable.

Illydando Manbrando i know right
Tears of the Flies is better.
Holy shit. Other than blue zircon, this might be my favorite. There's something menacing about this song and that's kinda why I love it so much.
I feel like I can hear some Avatar Beat drumlines along with Sugar Coma Foxtrot slowed down - really neat touches!
What about the whispering from Not Safe?
I heard whispers
