    Best hot hatch ever. I love the S1. Small and understatmant pure. You think it have like 100 HP but then it have more then 200 HP (with chip over 300 HP) 😁👍🏻👍🏻

    I got an APR stage 1 tune last December and it makes a big difference. Makes the S1 feel like it should have come from the factory. The Eventuri cold air intake and new turbo inlet also gave a fairly noticeable bump in power.

    The twisting nob issue might be because the car has been designed for right hand drive and they don’t change it for the left hand drive markets

    The space for resting the foot is there on the left-steering-wheel version. Probably the UK one doesn't have it.

    I think the efficiency vs dynamic mode is a bit of Jedi Mind Trick. All it does is alter the amount of steering assistance and change how hair triggery of the throttle pedal.
    For a given amount of acceleration or a given steady speed there will be no MPG difference between either mode.

    I never understand lowering springs- they always ruin the ride and shake the interior until it squeaks.
    Get some coilovers! I am aware of the horrendous cost - and am saving myself.

    Can't decide between Audi s1 and a f21 125d, I like big diesel torque and the zf8 gearbox but in the winter the s1 would be so much fun and for the driving that I do (only on mountains) the s1 would be much faster I think
    Beeing close to Germany I can find both of them quite cheap but can only afford one 😅

      Cos they handle like a newborn giraffe. Sold mine after 2 years. Boring

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WalkinSalmon Your comment was boring.
      They are good handling cars, just not on a par with superb handling hatches, because they are set up to be comfortable daily drivers.
      You can turn them into track day monsters with suspension, subframe mounts, and lower control arm mods, but then they are ruined as daily drivers.
      Just looked at your channel, and no content, so I don't even believe you ever owned one, just a typical Audi fanboy hating on anything without the four rings on the front.

    • @WalkinSalmon
      @WalkinSalmon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DjNikGnashers just because I don’t have a TH-cam channel documenting every chavvy change I make doesn’t mean I didn’t have one. I was on BabyBMW check my user name but also I don’t have to prove it. We all like different things, I fitted underbody brace, strut brace, Bilstein B14s and other things to make the car something it will never be. A hot hatch. So for me. It was boring and way too chavvy with every guy from Birmingham spanking them around with their pop and bang maps.
      Doesn’t suit me

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WalkinSalmon That was a considered and adult reply, which is what you should have done in the first instance.
      So I respect you for that.
      Your initial comment sounded like a 12 year old.
      I also agree with your second comment. They are not designed to be the ultimate track day car, but what they do best is being a comfortable daily driver which can be tuned to be a very quick car in a straight line, cheaply and easily.
      There are plenty of M140is which have had serious money spent on them, to make them into extremely good track day cars, but we both know, if you throw enough money at anything you can turn it into whatever you want, and plenty of owners videos prove even an M140i can be an amazing track-day car, but it needs a lot more than an underbody brace and some B14's to do that.

      This guy was putting in some incredible track times before his engine blew (freely admits it was probably oil starvation as he didn't have a baffled sump yet).

      @@Khumry Yes, they did have Volvo parts once upon a time, back when the Murcielago was made. You probably only know that from watching Matt Armstrong. Ever since VAG acquired Lamborghini, they’ve been made with VAG parts & are now incredibly reliable compared to pre-VAG when they were famous for breaking down & being notoriously difficult to service & repair. The easiest way to pay the lowest price for parts, is to just put the parts number into Google & click on the “shopping” feature. VW is usually cheaper for parts than it’s other brands, but the internet is heaps cheaper again for factory parts which usually come from Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic etc.
