    All three too pricey for how far out of town they are. I'm 15 minutes from town and the airport in a very green gated village rent is lot less than this for comparable houses.

    The 2nd one, town house. Is the height of the shower designed for a 5'10 person?

    I think they are priced a little high. Very nice, new and clean but just something is off about the space and such. First house would be great if it was the only house. Two big homes squeezed in like that is aweful. 450 a month usd would be reasonable for the first place.

  • @HairyPixels
    @HairyPixels ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That house would cost at least about 300,000 USD if I had to guess. The price of the homes in Thailand vs the rent prices don't make sense to me and certainly don't follow the general rent to mortgage ratio is in the US. Any ideas why?

    • @TheNarrowGate
      @TheNarrowGate  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure exactly why but I can say is things are cheap here in Thailand.

      You cannot compare rental prices in CM to US rental prices.

    Great Video Tony and nice meeting you and your lovely wife at the first house.
    I actually rented it the day after we met there. When Alice mentioned the 2nd house on property I wasn’t too sure at first, but it turns out it’s the owners house, she lives in Australia and spends 4 to 5 days a year there. So it’s basically empty all the time with the exception of her daughter who stops by a few days a week to look after it and is as nice as nice can be.

    Have to laugh at all the ones saying these are too pricey. In Hawaii the cheapest one would probably rent for $3K a month, unfurnished.

      🤫shhhh don’t give them any ideas😂seriously though, when you’re local you see values for years. For THEIR rentals, prices going up exponentially and way more than average and difficult to come up with rent. ‘Rona left everyone in the red struggling, as well as the US. Hawaii has always been high priced. So much so, so many have been forced to come to the mainland. Don’t know how blessed you are and if you own but you’re in Hawaii 💐🙏🏻❤️

      Apples to Oranges comparison. You wouldn't compare prime Paris/Singapore real estate with out of town, rural Alabama real estate. Chiang mai is no economic hot bed with no high-paying jobs and this is far out of town with little land.

    • @le_th_
      @le_th_ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gosh, you'd almost think it was an island and that land is incredibly limited and the cost of wages higher because basic staples like milk are $8 a gallon and eggs $7 a dozen.

      I'm guessing about 300,000 USD for the first one. Rent in Thailand is undervalued in my opinion. It would take over 25 years renting before you exceeded the value of the house. Doesn't make sense to buy does it?

    Safety factors don’t seem to be much of an issue, like to see at least two exits for fire escape or other (yes, not much flammable construction, but)..interesting design concepts except for the all-wet hong nams..and…would be suitable for someone..mine is 2-story, 3br, 2bath for 12k baht in a secure village 😱

      You would need a work permit and that might be tough to get approved. The reason is because there are Thai's doing that and you would be taking their work. Do a google search for work permits in Thailand and it will clarify.

    These three are all very uninspiring today. Poor design and layout, lacking any home comforts. Bad outside spaces. Cheap uncomfortable furniture. It looks like its going to be difficult to find a nice place to feel at home.

      The price reflects the quality of the homes. In my view, decent value for the price, but agree, these properties would not be for me and my family.

    • @HairyPixels
      @HairyPixels ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thai's love big, white concrete rooms with very little stuff in them. Not very cozy or pleasant for us. It's really hard to find good housing in Thailand for this reason.

    • @Mark-yo5ue
      @Mark-yo5ue ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@HairyPixels Thailand is probably one of the best and cheapest country’s in the world to find rental housing. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect top quality furniture and top design of a home that is maybe 2,000 sq ft. + for $500 to $800 per month. If you go up in your price range you will likely find many houses that might suit your tastes and budget.

    • @HairyPixels
      @HairyPixels ปีที่แล้ว +3
