I bought the 16/2.8 a year ago when it first came out. It quickly earned its place as my default lens, and it still holds that position. When traveling light, it’s on my camera, while the 35/2 and Laowa 9/2.8 fit inside my pockets. This makes a super little group of lenses. (Interesting that Apple chose nearly the same three effective focal lengths for the iPhone Pro.) Next I want to get the 16-80mm for when my wife’s patience is wearing thin. 😂
I do not own the 16-55, but as far as I have experience with that lens it has incredible iq. But it’s too bulky for me and what I do. But yes, a comparison could be interesting. Thx for watching.
Hey André. No, not with photography in my opinion. Just follow the rules for focal length and shutter speed, so don't go below 1 / 30s to be safe, then you have no problem. IBIS is then only important for video.
Another great, helpful video. I have this lens, haven't used it much, but may well go out for a walk only with this lens. Do you sometimes feel that you have too many lenses? My go to are the 23, 35, and 50. But I have the 16-80 and 16mm. I love the 16mm and 16-80 but sometimes feel that I have to find a reason to use them.... I'm a lens addict...
This is something I also know and what I really love about the X100V: The reduction to a maximum of three focal lengths when using converter lenses. But in fact, I use all of my lenses regularly: The 56 1.2 and 35 1.4 for my portraits, the 23 and 16 (and also the 35) for street and the 16-80 is my universal weapon when shooting cityscape, especially at night, and for videos. But I bought and sold a lot of gear over the time and ask myself what is really needed and what not... Thx for watching!

Thank you for the review 🙏 I just bought this 16mm 2.8 at my local store here in Bahrain. It's my first prime lens.
Great lens to start with! Greetings to Bahrain....
Love that lens along with my f1.4 35mm
Agreed! I love both of them too... Thx for watching!
Thank you, useful and fun to watch
Thanks!

Good luck with that, Karl. Thanks sharing and for watching of course!
Helped me a lot! Will be going ahead and will place the order, Thank you!
You're welcome and thx for watching...
I just pulled the trigger and bought a Fuji x-t200. Hoping to save some money for this lens.
Great combo! Have fun...
I got this lens about two months ago and I find it to be perfect (for me) in every aspect. BTW, great shot at 6:15. Stay safe Jay.
Enrique Thank you, Enrique! Good to hear that other people think the same way about this lens.
What is the difference using this lens than the 16-55 at 16 mm apart from the size and weight

Hey Jay, quick question: do you think that the lack of OIS can be a problem on the smaller, non-stabilized bodies?
Hey André. No, not with photography in my opinion. Just follow the rules for focal length and shutter speed, so don't go below 1 / 30s to be safe, then you have no problem. IBIS is then only important for video.
@@Jayshooter_photo sounds good. Thanks man, really appreciate it
Hi witch the best between the 23mm and this one the 16mm ? Tks
The 16mm is a lot "faster" but bulkier and may be a little ahead in terms of IQ. The 23mm is the really a good, cheap and compact option.
Bought this used and in mint condition for my XT3 for the exact same purpose. Thanks for the review.
You're welcome...

Hola! y que tal, Joaquin, Beautiful picture of the man sit on the stairs. How did you edit it ?
It wasn't edited at all, except for cropping. The beauty of Fujifilm Film simulations. Acros + R...
@@Jayshooter_photo Thank you looks pretty nice!
Thanx!
You’re welcome.
Why not f/ 1.4?
As I said in the video: three times as big, so heavy and so expensive.

Alles was man unterwegs braucht.

Best review!!
I don’t know if that’s true, but thanks! 😉
I also shoot Menschen 😅 klasse
