That Gorillaz cover is the most peaceful thing i've ever heard.
who is that singer?
Joel S. Daniela Andrade is a goddess ❤
@@PaoloReaper do you know if it is on Spotify?
@ripsalsa i know
Honestly, I had to mute it! Very talented singer, just not the best cover for a rock/hip-hop song
Wow i was really expecting at least one shot from Schindlers list
I think there was one in the first video in this series
I absolutely love Schindler’s List. Such a devastating movie but it really captured WWII in it’s brutal real ness. It makes me so grateful for everything I have - and don’t even get me started on the shots!! Okay I think I’ve ranted enough now... haha
Same and that scene where we get a close up of the little girl in red walking with the jews is probably the single most iconic shot in the entire movie that would have been a better pick in there other video where the had the distant view
00:05 - The Third Man (1949)
00:24 - The Night of the Hunter (1955)
00:26 - Ida (2013)

I think 00:54 is Citizen Kane, but I'm not sure
The Magnificent Ambersons
@@charlie172011its Magnificent Ambersons so close
@@villain7140 Ah! It was an Orson Welles film after all then.
Really enjoying these collections, i think that a lot of shots from a film called the assassin deserve to be in one of these compilations
Solomon Society really needs to watch more silent era films. Many shots from Faust, The General, Metropolis, The Crowd, Sunrise, Intollerance, Nibelungen, ,Joan of Arc, Modern Times, The Last Laugh and the Phantom Carriage deserves to be in here as well.
Metropolis was in this
Fuck yea on having a Gorillaz song even if it's a cover.
MrGageHarrison it's a pretty cool cover
i want one of these a week
Max Ponsonby agreed
Some faves I would have added: Anita Ekberg in the fountain in La Dolce Vita, the opening shot and intermingling faces of Persona, the men around the saucer and setting fire to the alien in The Thing From Another World, any shot from Buster Keaton's The General or Jean Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, the seduction of The Husband underneath the full moon in Sunrise, the pan across the office in The Crowd, and the very last shots of Queen Christina, The 400 Blows and I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang.
0:57 Eyes without a face, incredible film
When I saw the title I immediately knew there must be some shot of La haine.
For consideration -
- Sunset Boulevard (when shes standing in the light and smoke from the projector)
- Shoot the Piano Player (when charlie and lena hold hands; lena standing on the sortve hill)
- Roman Holiday (the very last scene is iconic as well as beautiful)
Yes!!!!!! I love your song choices!
Love your music choice for all these videos, really makes them unique..keep up the awesome work!
The lighthouse will be in this top in 50 years
No doubt
This is the one of the best TH-cam channels I have come trough. Simply amazing
i was waiting intently for a hard days night and it finally came and i screamed
Totally undersand you, the same happened to me with tokyo monogatari (00:51), I was waiting for an Ozu movie and I just saw tokyo monogatari the day before :)
Needed to be at least one shot from Citizen Kane which has influenced the lighting on most other movies ever since. As to silent era films, Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens is a 1922 German Expressionist horror film, directed by F. W. Murnau, starring Max Schreck.
God damn. I only found you last night but, may I work for you guys? Jesus these are beautiful. I'm speechless EVERY video. Everyone. 🙌🏻👏🙏🏽🙌🏻👏🙏🏽
Very creative, inspiring and beautiful tributes . Well done and big thank you.
Was hoping to have Ed Wood in there. That's actually my favorite movie. Loved this as always!
Ed wood is in there at 0:46 and 1:44
Man this is so awesome if only there was a shot from “Logan” noir version but this is still amazing
Always the best music in this videos
daniela andrade ❤
I really enjoy how your videos are bookended
I want this Gorillaz cover played at my funeral!
I was expecting that shot from Sunset Boulevard where the crazy actress character walks towards the camera.
I really miss in this one some shots from "Wings of Desire" (Wim Wenders).
If y'all did one of these but with series Legion would probably take most of the spots!
I think we could take a lot from cinematography within modern film making then we have historically more so i think special effects. I think the Breaking Bad El Camino was a modern classic in its depiction its own cinematography.
OMG why yt recommended this video for me?? Well, i don't know BUT I LOVE IT. Freaking awesome video dude. Congratz
From Brazil🇧🇷 ;)
Wings of Desire (Der Himmel über Berlin) by Wim Wenders definetly deserved to be in this video as well
My favourite film ❤
Where do you get all this good songs? I mean everyone knows this song, but this cover is beautiful, tell me your secret
DANIELA ANDRADE + MOVIES + B&W = ❤
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night have some pretty great shots. Maybe for a part 2.
There misses some scenes from "Nebraska". What a film
You missed "El Perro Andaluz".
That was amazing. Excellent job!
This is my favourite video on all of TH-cam
i’m still not over seven samurai
i love your videos and the music is just heart touching ... where are you finding those beautiful cameos ?
There’s also the knife scene in 12 angry men.
love that song !
The scenes with the chorus girls dancing, legs, etc. are by BUSBY BERKELEY. The musicals of the 1930s were designed to be spectacular with the intent of transporting people to a fantasy; really wonderful watching!
For those wondering, the cover is by Daniela Andrade and she actually has a YT channel :)
I'm surprised the windmill shot from the 2004 van helsing movie wasn't in this.
Can anyone explain to me how they shot the opening to 8 1/2? I still can't wrap my head around it.
I would have liked to see some of Gabriel Figueroa's works here, as well as some of the Mexican cinema's Golden Era, but it's hard to keep track of the immensity of movies from all over the world that are out there. I really liked the video!
A Midsummer Night’s Dream - 1935 with shimmering special effects.
Beautiful work.
There's a really stupendous shot from Schindler's List: It's in the scene where Schindler acquaints himself with the Nazis. begins on Schindler's left and the camera moves behind him, tracking, with Schindler, a Nazi with a lass. We're looking over Schindler's left shoulder when his hand emerges into sight, the back of the hand facing us, holding a cigarette; he moves his hand to the side, revealing a monetary bill folded in half and the number 50. A waiter's face appears in shot, Oskar turns, they talk, the waiter takes the money as the camera moves back to Schindler's left. He takes a drag from his cigarette and the shot ends.
I would certainly add to the list the beautiful Opening Scene from - The Long Voyage Home - shot by Gregg Toland .
the shots and the song choice are all great, But a list of the names would be appreciated (or maybe puting the tile of the films in captions)
Nothing spoils a collection of old black and white movie shots like a modern, auto-tuned pop song.
i get you cant have every shot in this video but not including the final shot of its a wonderful life just seems like a cinema sin
I was hoping I’d see that shot from eraserhead
It would be nice to show the name and year of the film in each shot. It would make me want to see the whole film...
was hoping to have the war room here good list though
Have you seen the embrace of the serpent? There are some beautiful black and white shots in that movie
00:53 fellini 8 e mezzo
proud to be italian
so inspiring! love it!
Where is Wojciech Has' "Saragossa manuscript"?
Rumble Fish and Tetro by Coppola are both B&W masterpieces.
Any idea what movie 1:46 from? The one that seems like a war movie?
Paths of glory (1957)
Wheres godzilla😢
So good
1:59 a hard days night
first scene , which film ????
Hi, someone knows the films name at the beginning to this video 0:04??
Antonio Alvarez The Third Man.
The Third Man. One of the greats films ever made
What's the film from 0:45?
My favorite black and white movies are Casablanca, Harakiri and Seven Samurai
could you add list of movies? or at least 1:13 (boxing man) I would like to know cheers
La Haine (1995), by Mathieu Kassovitz
thank you a lot man but it doesn't look like "fighting movie" :( though it will be something as 7 samurais just boxing world
Can someone tell me which movie is it in 00:31?
Where's schindlers list, sin city, ivan's childhood, andrei rublev and dr. Strangelove
nice video! i love ur music, do you have a public playlist or so,ething like that?
Loved the video but I think it's a shame you stopped following the music at a certain point. It felt like it lost the magic from there on.
This is the weirdest cover of a song I’ve ever heard...but I think I like it
If only the lighthouse could be included
Remake this but it’s just the entirety of the lighthouse
I admire your taste
Miss your videos ❤
