I'm surprised how the legendary AVUS circuit stayed in use all the way through to the 90s. I first learned about it spoken in the same breath as old Spa-Francorchamps, the Targa Florio, and the Monza oval; and like those tracks, I fully expected it to have been made defunct decades ago.
