"You know that over fed mammoth of yours saved my life once. Would have been rude not to return the favor. " James Lester

The onion: primeval have no chance of coming back
Primeval fan: cries for the rest of their lives
@@thanhkieuphuc367 it was cancelled once before for long enough for me to give up hope, I will never lose hope a second time.
sure, it's been over a decade at this point but I've seen franchises come back from bigger gaps.
About to finish season 3. When did Lester say that?
@@LenOnTheDoor0000 season 4
I can't be the only person who sees the absolute magnificence in the Predators design, everything about them. Sound, visual, the way they move... its all so eerie
Just go watch Alien you twat :)
You don’t actually see the Alien that much in the original Alien movie. The sequels don’t have the plot to back the visuals (Aliens is pretty good however)
Replay comenting cuz im bored
There's a reason they were the most popular creature on the show.
It trips over a skateboard and has a panic attack... I'm not seeing it bud
I love that line "you really are a tiresome little man", making sure that even if he did die, he wanted leek to know he was still nothing to him.
OG1337A
JAYDOG1337A ok
@@user-xj2vj9fi1j wise words
He was so damn cool in that moment!
He was about to die and was giving ZERO FUCKS so badass.
I love that Lester got his own moment to shine. Going 1v1 against one of the most dangerous creatures in the show up to that point and actually making it out in one piece (with some help in the end, of course).
Personally I'd say they where the most Dangerous while yes the S1 finale did show that they could lose fights the predator has a lot of advantages
Sorry. What about Cutter in season one where he shot one of the adults?
I wouldn't say one of the most because it literaly got clapped by a praying mantis
@@JustGloryHeaven I know this is an old comment but those praying mantis were actually the future ants or bees as they said they are part of the Hymenoptera family, but they evolved similar arms like that of mantis due to convergent evolution. BTW I don't know if you remember from the show but they had an ovipositor in their arms meaning that if they stabbed/stung their prey with those arms then their prey would become hosts to its babies living inside them to then bursting out of the host like the xenomorphs in the movie alien.
This scene still gives me the chills. However, I still can't take Leek seriously despite everything he did for the simple reason he was named after a vegetable
That's the beauty of Leek. He's only desire is to be taken seriously, but nobody does.
@@HiperPivociarz even to the point where when he literally holds Lester’s life in his hands, Lester refuses to give him the satisfaction of killing him and tells him off for what he presumed would be the last time for him
He missed the chance to say, "We need to talk about the elephant in the room."
XD
Nice pun there, laddie
Haha haha nice jock
You made a mammoth mistake.
Or one could phrase the pun as "It appears you overlooked the elephant in the room."
This is a classic scene of Primeval, truly one of the best. So great for Lester to get in on the action and the fact he's on his own gives the scene a secluded feel and I love the moments with the flickering lights such a great effect
The direction and cinematography here is fantastic! And the tense nature of the scene really does lead the audience into thinking that 'This is it for James Lester,'!
The Primeval Site I agree. I also love his line, "you really are a tiresome little man." lol and Leek trying to overpower him the little man looking up at the big boss simply fantastic shame the show lost its way
+The Primeval Site great vid truly a brilliantly done horror-esque scene. Could you please upload full episodes of primeval on your channel in full screen? Would love to see a episode without the tiny screen window in middle of the huge background
What worked really well also was the fact that today you’d see a lot of these tropes used in this scene as cliche, but at the time they were relatively unique and worked so well to freak me out as a kid
"Good boy, good mammoth."
Best line!
Up until Season 4; this was the first time we'd seen someone go One-On-One with a predator.
Ryan, Leek, Christine and whoever else you can think of merely got slaughtered in seconds. Lester went Mano-ã-Mano with a predator.
It's just than Ryan didn't know how the Future Predator work at this moment so he was suprised.
Lester at this moment know who the Futur Predator work and Leek was controlling the Future Predator just for playing with Lester. So it was more normal for Lester to resist than Ryan but I agree than he was badass at this moment
Bryan Carol
Exactly. Not only do the team learn to adapt with each new creature incursion, but they get stronger and smarter every-time.
This was Lester proving he wasn't just the big, shouty boss man and was able to fight something that, up until that point, had massacred anyone it met.
@Mark Kelly that makes it better Lester seemed to know that or realise it anyway and used it to his advantage
rookie mistake, got tusk impaled
Cutter in the greenhouse in season 1?
I remember watching this for the first time, I had thought Lester was pretty useless but this made him a complete badass. Shame we never saw this side to him more.
We did see a bit of it in season 5. Where he bravely protected his new car LOL.
There’s also two Primeval novels that show us more of his badass side!
Leek “I have an army of Future Predators”.
Lester “I have a Mammoth”.
This is definitely one of my favourite scenes in all of primeval.
It is such a brilliantly done scene! The lightning, angles, and pacing is perfect!
@@ThePrimevalSite what’s the song called that was playing on connors music pod
I like the idea that the show presented that the future creatures, while certainly great hunters in their own right, weren't by any means immortal. They could be killed when met by a strong natural enemy. They're terrifying, but they're not some overly invincible force and are as subject to harm as any actual living thing.
Exactly. Another Future Predator's battle with the Gorgonopsid also proves this; in general, it seems that significantly larger beasts with greater reaching range and the cleverness to think outside the box are the Future Predators' greatest rival. They are unrivalled in speed and senses, but when they have to face a creature tough enough to take what they dish out and strong enough to return it with interest... well, they've met their match.
It never really got better than this series
Primeval!!!! PLEASE RETURN!!!!!!!!
Your Friendly Neighbour I know me too
I never noticed the Future Predator pissing himself as he's being flung around by the mammoth
Holy shit
i always thought that was blood when i was younger
MysterySeeker can never unsee or unhear that
I'm gonna preserve my retinas and just tell myself that the FP's got weird blood
Patrick Morris can't, the mammoth has blood on it's tusk from the fp and it's red
You've got to love the future predator ! But you've also got to love Lester !
The zombie slayer you also gotta love the mammoth
The zombie slayer ppo
I always love Lester!
"You know, my kids have really been pestering me for a pet. If you can't find a home for him...". Funniest line in the series.
Such a cool scene, the character who doest normally fight, ends up fighting for his life against a predator more powerful than him, in the most badass way possible.
Such an amazing scene. Simply one of the best in the series. Damn... I miss this show....
It has so many amazing elements, and the tenseness of the scene is incredible!
Will you marry me?😂
@@ThePrimevalSitePrimeval deserved a proper conclusion.
Lester is awesome. Even after kicking ass he acts as if nothing happened.
An accurate representation of being in public high school
AKA your siblings when you ate the last slice of pizza
0:56 it’s been 9 years and my reaction is always the same as James’
Wow 9 years... god I feel old and I’m only 14 lol
Elliott The Animator 9 years :( ffs
Elliott The Animator agreed
Same here
Don't be that kind of kid. "I'm already 14, I feel old" Fuck outta here with that!
@Ooga Booga gate keeping much?
Leek: Tries to use Future Predator to kill lester
Colombian Mammoth: Im about to end this mans whole career
Seems more like an “I’m gonna stop you right there” moment but still cool all the same!
Out of all my life in primeval this has to be the most badass scene I ever saw
Lester’s character development throughout the serious is pretty terrific.
A future predator will never win against a creature that lives in the past
Apollo Dragon 2000 Except a dodo maybe
Yeah the Gorg got lucky in that fight other than that the FP was beating its ass.
That's because it adapted in the future not the Ice Age or Permain
The gorgonopsid vs the future predator was great too
Patrick Morris Unless the Dodo bites it and infects it with the parasite
i remember watching this at 6 years old with my dad every Saturday morning! this show is the reason i love supernatural programs
Lester was honestly always one of my faves. He's great
Lester was my favorite character. He was a bad ass but in the end he has a good heart. Love him.❤️❤️❤️
When you lead a team or are a boss you can't be nicey nicey all the time, but yeah if push came to shove I think he would have all of their backs
“You really are a tiresome little man.”
Sassy til the not end.
When this series came out I was 5 and I thought the things on the future predators heads were hats
Lol
Quickscope Kid only when I watched it recently did I realize they were mind control devices
If they where hats, then they’re very stylish
That's amazing 😂. I was about 8 and I watched this show, religiously. At least until they got rid of most of the main cast
I was 7 when the show started, being 22 now I still love this show with a passion. Though series 3 is my favourite, this scene is special to me
0:57 I don't know why, but there's something about the way he says "I'm gonna hunt you" that gives me chills.
James Lester: quite literally “LIKE A BOSS!”
I really do love this scene. Might well be my favourite scene in the whole series. Mind you, the full version of it with all the suspenseful buildup to this part is even better!
Best mamoth in my life
KiNG ZiLLa umm dude it’s mammoth
I'm pretty sure Lester didn't release the Mammoth to save himself, I think he released it knowing it would kill the future predator after he died, so that it wouldn't hurt the crew as the returned back to their base. Lester truly expected to die at the end there and that makes the whole scene so much more badass.
Very interesting take and I agree on some level but I like to think he was only 50% sure he was gonna die. I like to think he was making a serious gamble here and if he did die, at least the mammoth would save the day and Leek wouldn’t get the satisfaction of seeing James suffer. But I do think he was counting on surviving this on some level. Still, awesome take!
@@LenOnTheDoor0000 He definitely WANTED to survive, and it's possible he held out hope, but to me his last few moments spell out acceptance of his presumed fate. Y'know, he's a really smart guy, he knows full well the odds of survival are far, far lower than 50%. Maybe we're both right and he did it 99% to clean the predator after it killed him and 1% praying for a miracle mammoth intervention haha
Oh man the nostalgias kicking in
2:25 James is such badass
This was one of my favourite shows when I was younger, absolutely brilliant. Wish they done loads more
Up until this sequence, Lester's motivations, goals were up for speculation by the audience. We didn't know if he was on the side of the angels, up to no good, or just a company man for the government. As of this scene, James went from question mark to TOTAL BAD ASS !!!
This scene was so spooky when I was younger, back in the day I'd never suspect Leek to have been a villain. It was awesome watching this for the first time!
The future may be highly evolved beyond anything the past can hope to match, but that doesn't mean the past is going to give up without a fight.
Love Lester. Ben Miller is brilliant
The fact that the arc left that gun loaded and ready to fire in the cart of guns.
I miss Primeval
do u think that the creative designer of the film a quiet place got the idea for the creature from the future predator?
They are strikingly similar, in their hunting technique, and even in design. It's unfortunate that the animals get compared and spotlighted when Primeval already created such a great idea back in 2007...
This, Doctor Who and Star Wars The Clone Wars were my favourite childhood shows (Doctor Who is still one of my favourite currently running shows)
Nic McConnell Doctor Who and Nick Cutter best english series of my chilhood..
So sad they dont continue the primeval series for a season 6..
For me it was primeval, prehistoric park, walking with dinosaurs, doctor who, the x files and Star Wars the clone wars.
Doctor Who is utter shite now. At least Primeval didn't go woke and remained consistently great.
@@deanwicks1278 it really isn't though...
@@kmcconnell-k6850 The new doctor is awful. People despised the last few series. Unless you're a devoted fan who will blindly defend the show no matter how bad it gets, the show is a turnoff to everybody.
The future predator is the true hybrid of a Xenomorph (Alien from Alien) and the Yaultja (Predator from Predator) !
No just No.....
except without acid blood... or ranged weaponry... or optical camoflage
So none of you have heard of the predalien from AVP requiem
D.DoT-Z No, there are definitely similarities. It's vision on screen is aesthetically similar to the predator's and it's unnatural speed, stealth and fondness of the dark are somewhat reminiscent of a xenomorph. That said, the predalien is obviously the true hybrid with FP only bearing similarities.
D.DoT-Z It's a bat. It's fond of the dark. A whole pack of them stalked Danny, Abby and Connor through the almost pitch darkness of the Future ARC. Another pack ambushed Christine Johnson's men in the future while they inhabited the darkness of the building. Those were wild individuals. The only reason we didn't see many other dark attacks was because the ARC team usually only encountered them during the day, actively avoiding looking for them at night as it would be suicidal. As a general rule of thumb, if you're a hunting carnivore, you'll like the dark. Also, I never said that the Predator's vision was the same as FP's, I said they were aesthetically similar on screen, which means they look similar. You've also got all three creatures showing extraordinary durability in the face of gunfire. Also, another similarity is that all three creatures are renowned for their ability to hunt human prey albeit for different reasons, Predator's for honour, Xeno's for defense and reproduction and FP for food and defense. Another similarity between the Predator and FP is the vocalisations they make, they both click. Also, both FP and Xeno's lack lips and tend to drool as a result. So now that I've thoroughly disposed of your "FP's don't like darkness" BS and given you a fair amount of other similarities the creatures share, do you see now that while FP isn't the hybrid between the two, it DOES bear similarities to both other creatures, so allow me to say this.
Just stop.
One of the most brilliant shows I’ve ever seen. Just bought season 1 & 2 on amazon bc I need to see full eps again.
Man as bad ass as the Future Predator is. It is no match for the power of Prehistoric animals.
I forgot how incredible the score for this show was!
Name ?
he almost died but super mamoth saved him wooooooooooooooow so cool
We need a continuation of this series
primeval new world was the continuation
I remember this scene the future predator’s scary that’s why I was so relieved when the mammoth 🐘 killed it😃😃😃😎😎!!! Looking back now of course I’m not as scared but I gave me nightmares when I was a kid it only scares me a little bit now
Series 2 was just amazing
I can’t stop laughing when the future predator keeps crashing crazy while the music is playing
Only just realized how they paid attention to detail enough to have the future predator to start peeing as soon as it's dead
Ahh Lester, the only corporate/government top official who I ever liked in all media.
3:37 🦣.
3:49 James: Good boy. 3:51 Good mammoth 🦣.
Me: Good thing you kept him around.
The Woolly Mammoth just saved him good job
このシーン好きだなー
Purely Awesome
Ive seen these shows and the future predator always gets beaten up by the past lol
Symbolism
I just watched A Quiet Place. The monsters reminded me of primeval... A lot! 😅
3:38. The moment Leek realised his plan screwed up.
*Remember this scene, I was afraid for Lester because he was my favorite with Cutter ! Damm what a survivor*
absolutely loved this growing up but i fear its probably not aged too well making me kinda worried to go back and rewatch it
名場面!
Ok two things one Lester has some of the best one liners and Two props the makers of the show for not making the belt on the SAW LMG least for 9 hours, that whole gunfire scene with that belt shown before firing is believeable.
Primeval is as old as the mcu that’s crazy
A year older
Cool in the literal face of death, he screamed only twice, so fucking awesome
It’s just so scary but so good
Does anyone know the actual song that plays when he turns on the iPod? It's been bugging me for ages!
Best scene!
1:42 I sometimes hate that predators use darkness to their advantage.
Epic scene
esta muy bueno el video
3:30 Mammoth saves the day!
These monsters remind me of a little something *cough* ''A QUIET PLACE'' *cough*
Spiros V forgetting the fact a quiet place came basically a decade after this episode aired
Agent_giraffe 48 that’s what I’m saying. “A Quiet Place” kinda copied “Primeval”.
Now those are some sharp tusks.
The Predator seems to think it's a Weeping Angel easy enough their both just as terrifying also why was James barely in the action in the series?!
They say that the Future Predator is suppose to be the next dominant life form after man and yet ironically, it has lost to the Gorgonopsid, the Colombian Mammoth and all those other Creatures that were captured by Leek in the fight off screen after Stephens death.
I guess you could say old school wins.
@@finlandguy427 Man kind needed an army of Prehistoric Warriors to defend them for the Future Predators.
Leek does a good rol, too. But I love Lester
Mammoth came to the rescue
2:28 Looks like Tony Montana
Is primeval still on? Idk I haven’t watched it for years
The fact that predator tanked those bullets blows my mind
My fave s2 scene
3:25-3:42 and once again the past overcomes the future
After this Lester start to develop in the show after this.
So this is where “a quiet place”ripped off the monster’s design, movement and characteristics
Mammoth Saves the Day!
“Good mammoth”
I LOVE THE FUTURE PREDATORS so much. Future predators RULE. THE FUTURE PREDATORS MY ALL TIME FAVORTIE PRIMEVAL CREATURE OF ALL TIME EVER. I LOVE THE FUTURE PREDATORS EVER MORE THEN THE TV SHOW SERIES PRIMVAL ITSELF. ALL HAIL THE FUTURE PREDATORS.
Luckily there was a stock of guns next to a gym, and all the guns were loaded already (had to use a mammoth to kill the predator though cause rule of cool)
Good show in any case
Salve Lester.
Alright Landlord.
Bro has got some serious plot armor
Is it just me
Or are future predators always victims of past creatures
