EGO’s power head system is perfection! I have four attachments, makes yard work so much easier. This new product is just one more use for my batteries. EGO give us a battery gauge!
EGO is by far my favorite OEP brand. I really want to get the snow blower. I have the original mower, string trimmer, blower and chain saw. Love and use them all.
Yeah. I was just going to mention that myself. I've seen several videos with his mic not working. Just a heads up ha. Love the videos guys. Keep up the good work
Dan, I like your plan for emergency preparedness - Eric's kids on bikes running an inverter! I immediately thought of the Wizard of Oz when the old lady goes by on the bike in the tornado. And Dan's response would simply be to tell Eric to unplug something because he has less power now! Lol!
We own all of the Ego tools save the snowblower.. (In Alabama). Would never go back to Gas. No clogged carbs, no mixed gas, no pull starts. Works everytime and so well my wife now mows the yard! The Nexus is already on order.
EGO is the best batt ope hands down. I got into the line bc of you guys. Thank you. I now have a mower, weed eater, blower and headgear trimmer. All excellent. Dan - I’d say the weed eater is the best of the line although I do have the gen2 blower the one with the turbo button. The string trimmer is top top notch but the mower is excellent too and yes it collects full bags without drops. I can’t pick they all are great. The hedge trimmer was cutting back branches an inch thick. I was very impressed with it. It’s super light and powerful and had no issue with fatigue. Also please stop stop comparing ego to ryobi. There is NO comparison. Totally different leagues. I had the mower for a day, retuned it, and bought the ego. You get what you pay for and it’s well worth the money. Oh so you guys really need to talk about the recharge time. That was a shocker for me. A 5.0 runs for 40 min in the mower and recharges in 25 minutes. Amazing. Go EGO
People say EGO is too dear....I have most of their tools and I'd pay double what I paid for them and still be very happy. I have both invertors and wow they are good
One of many reasons Sears is about to go bankrupt. I can't believe Sears turned down Ego well it was probably going to be branded as Craftsman but still.
Just bought this inverter. Does what it says. I bought it to run a few lights for a bit but if the powers out for more than an hour or two I’ll fire my generator
You guys tried Geenworks' 80V stuff? The chainsaw is a beast, mower lasts ~60minutes with 4.0Ah, backpack blower is almost as good as gas(eats batteries though), have a snow shovel I was planning on doing the roof with but I think I'm going to try the actual blower and haul it up with a rope, shovel is a bit too heavy and you can't aim.
Would a heating pad work and not cause or give u any issues? I have tried a bunch of inverts and different way to power a heating pad on road trips and haven't found a full proof way yet without burning something out!
I understand what you mean completely. The best way that I have found is to Simply power the heating elements directly from the battery. If you use a battery that has built-in protection circuitry like Ryobi 18-volt, there's no need to incorporate any type of battery management. You simply need to obtain the right resistance to allow the current to flow at a rate that you deem appropriate. I use the heating elements out of heated seats from the salvage yard. You can get them for next to nothing and they're made up of resistive wire it gets hot when amperage flows. Jeep Cherokees with a defective heating elements work great. These were recalled because the vehicle did not regulate the power correctly and there was a failure point where most of the weight was put on the seat when you sit down. most of them are burnt at the solder joints so you can get them for next to nothing or for free from the salvage yard, pull the resistive wire out and conform it to your liking in your clothes gloves hat coat seat sleeping bag whatever.
i love the ego system, but as a DJ i can see where this could power my class D amp speakers 1 per speaker and would run it for 4-7hrs much longer then i need for a ceremony, i have all the hand tools from ego including the pole saw etc, all bot the chain saw but that's next on the list
can I run a 150 watt fan off this ie. Dyson Hot+Cool™ Fan Heater (Black/Iron) with air amplifier, and how long would it last? my bf works in construction and its get pretty warm, all the other cordless job site fans just move air around, which can help but id like to power something that actually cools the space for him...
I have both the mower and snowblower and love them both. I have two 7.5 amp hr batteries and they are beasts. I tell people all the time they should switch to electric. Love them
Hey guys, great video. 2 questions. If I’m going camping for 4 days... would this be able to run a cooler for 4 days? And secondly, would a portable solar panel be able to charge it with a USB adaptor? Goal Zero Nomad 7 Plus Portable Solar Panel - Black Thanks
Perhaps, I kind of doubt it, it's designed to power low amperage devices like cell phones, laptops, TV's. I plugged my fan into it, and it didn't work well. I'm kind of disappointed in it. I wanted to use it to power a fan for camping in FL and GA.
Wow. All the Lowe's signs behind them and they tell you to go to Home Depot which doesn't even carry EGO...Lowe's does and yes, I got my EGO mower and blower at Lowe's. They are amazing. Especially the 10AH battery ones.
I have the DeWALT power station along with 4 x 5.0ah's dedicated just to that and I also have 4 x 9.0ah's dedicated to it. Works great for the high power stuff! Can't wait to see how this little guy works with my laptop and other small items! :) I only have 2 of the 7.5AH batteries along with their self propelled mower and their snow blower. I have FAR MORE DeWalt batteries including the Flex Volt ones. I'd like to see something like this from DeWalt but 300 watts would be better for sure! :)
I have a Vornado 783 Full-Size Whole Room Air Circulator Fan plugged in my inverter on a 7.5 battery. I’ve been running fan on high for over 3 hrs inside. I had to stop, have other things I have to do 😱I want to use outside but the inverter is warm. The battery is still cool though. My central a/c is on in my home.

I received my 56-Volt Power Inverter today and tried it on my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop but it would not charge it. I tried my iPhone 8 and it would charge that on the USB port but that was not the reason for the purchase. I wanted this to charge the laptop while traveling but it will not. I like Ego products but this is one I will take back to Home Depot. The description clearly stated it will charge laptops but not mine. I consider that to be false advertisement. I have the 56-Volt 2.5 Amp Hour Battery - BA1400 and it was fully charged. I tried a small fan but would only work on low speed and did have the hum. I consider this inverter a dud! Sorry Ego but this doesn't measure up to what has been advertised. Back to the drawing board. Ego, I don't know what type of laptops you used for testing purposes but it will not work on a Lenovo Thinkpad.
They need an adapter cable . . . just a 4" cable with a female battery connection on both ends . . . one end connects to your tool and the other end connects to your ego 56v battery and is worn on your body ( Belt? Back Pack Harness?) so you don't have to swing/maneuver that tool with all that weight on it. If harnessed make it for 2 batteries.
That exists already. It’s a backpack with a cable that runs to the tool. You slide the battery into the backpack. It looks like their backpack leaf blower
Every time I’ve ever used these inverters all they do is blow my fuses. I’ve blown fuses on my 12volt dc just using an inverter to charge a drone battery.
I could be wrong but the reason for that is because a lot of electronics don’t work well with inverters. Something to do with it not being a clean source of energy.
This outputs square wave, which is, unfortunately, the cheapest and the worst form of AC conversion. A lot of electronics don't like square wave, and they can get permanently damaged. Search google for square wave and make sure yours can take that before plugging in.
Tested this Inverter for power outages.Did not work on 90% of the items I tried. The 2.5 battery powered a normal CFL bulb for an hour. Another proprietary waste of money.
I tried my Milwaukee 18v chainsaw head to head with the Ego, and it was much better than the Ego. I have not tried any of the other Ego products, so I have no opinion on them.
Could you guys at least plug something to the inverter so we can see this... "TOOL IN ACTION"???
Jeez!
lol "tools and yapping"
My thought exactly! I kept fast forwarding looking for it in action, then I hit the end.

The snow blower is nice but the scraper bar is an issue it wears down fast, and hits every bump in the driveway.
Will it run a ridgid 6hp shop vac for vacuuming out vehicles? If so how long will it last before it needs charge
The DeWalt with the 4 battery inverter works great. Ran my refrigerator for 9hrs.
jdamurph love both dewalt and ego
what size refrigerator..?? Mine has four 12ah batteries and i only got 5 hrs from it ...
Love the inverter. Blower and snowblower are awesome. Everything else dewalt 20v system

56V x 7.5ah = 420Wh ... this unit should have been a 300W inverter, maybe even a 500W inverter. But to limit it to 150W, not too shabby
56V × 2.5A = 140W
They have to make all tools compatible with all their batteries. This little unit is only here to make the Nexus more appealing.
