Dame Maggie in interviews always comes across as somebody who really doesn’t know why she’s there being interviewed or why people are interested in hearing her talk and it’s so sweet. We know she is a true star, the Grand Dame of film, television and theatre but it’s her humbleness that makes her so endearing
I fully agree! And, just to add to it all:
What most young people does not know, and/or have not yet fully discovered and actually realized, is the fact that she has won 2 Oscars! She is truly magnificient! ❤
I just love her and I think it is a very sane approach to all this star madness. We're all just people nothing about it, but people and the press think they know and elevate them until some didn't recognise themselves anymore, because they start believing it too.
Maggie Smith is what happens when you add pithy, deeply clever, dry humor to the big mood of "why are you so fascinated...Im just here at the Waterose to buy toothpaste..."

Maggie is so amazing that she can tell just a very light joke and have the audience roaring in applause, it's so great.

Imelda Staunton is the complete and polar opposite of Prof. Umbrige. It just goes to show how absolutely AMAZING of an actress she is! I can't wait for the next series of the crown🤞😄🙌

I started watching it in lockdown, six seasons and the movie in a week and a half! It's a problem
I started watching it a few years ago and it didn’t really grab me. Then when lockdown happened I thought I’d give it another go and..... hooked!!
……oh boy! I’ve just started my ELEVENTH viewing of the tv series’. Have seen the films’ a few times’, too.
But the series’ has everything for me……excellent acting, tight script, fab costumes’, beautiful scenery, great cinematography, & horses’. What’s more needed?
Imelda Staunton is a darling. I can't wait to see her play Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown.
Man, the fact I hated Umbridge so, so much in HP is definitely a testament to how great an actor she is. I mean, she seems to be such a sweet lady in real life, but she made me hate a character (Umbridge) probably more than 95% of other characters I can think of that I’ve seen in movies lol.
Hugh Bonneville is a big teddy bear. What a sweet man 😂🧡

Limiting her public outings to art galleries and museums, she doesn't think she'll ever run into an American. And as long as she also avoids Harrods (another American magnet), she figures she'll be fine. Too funny!
I loved Maggie Smith as Granny Wendy in “Hook”. When I first saw the movie, I didn’t know who Maggie was, but she was so sweet!
