My favorite films of Mr. Peck's are Cape Fear & the Omen, as well. Sidebar note: that is the best looking mausoleum I have ever seen! Gregory Peck was the second person to be interred in that mausoleum; Cardinal Mahoney’s parents were the first persons to be interred there. And it’s not so hidden because you can go at any time that the Cathedral is open. I worked across the street at the Hall of administration for 34 years and got to tour the Catheral in early 2002 before it was completed and opened to the public as part of a VIP group with County officials. I got to witness the Altar being lowered down into the church from the opened & unfinished ceiling on the day we toured... wonderful memories.🙏🏼🕊❤️ trust me when I say to you that every Roman Catholic in Los Angeles knows about this mausoleum and where its located.... I suppose we wouldn’t be good L.A. Catholics if we didn’t. 🥰

    Gregory Peck was one of those few actors that could play any role, I mean if you picture John Wayne now you'll no doubt picture him stood in his cowboy gear. When I see Gregory Peck I can't decide how to picture him, Cowboy? Ships captain? Or maybe in a generic 1940s grey suit? No matter the role he played he did it with pinache and his typical cool demeanor.

    • @Duke_of_Prunes
      @Duke_of_Prunes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know about playing "any role". Peck always played gentlemen -- like Atticus Finch in "To Kill A Mockingbird". I don't think he would go over well as an immoral character, or one with poor manners. He was the best!

    • @michaelhughes7718
      @michaelhughes7718 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Duke_of_Prunes he played Ahab and Bligh quite convincingly, I find if a good actor plays an asshole convincingly enough that you want to punch them, he's a damn good actor.

    This is one of many quality actors from that time. Edward G. Robinson is another one. I watch the classics over and over again. Each time I see something new/different that I previously missed. I watch the props, makeup, outfits, accessories, scene and location, as well as the characters themselves. I became curious as a young student when the book 'To Kill a Mockingbird' was required reading. I was so fascinated by the book that I named my beautiful cat, Atticus. Later, I saw the film/movie, and fell in love with the actor portraying uncle Atticus. Thank you for sharing knowledge regarding Gregory Peck.
