    Love your approach to weight fluctuation and creating a versatile wardrobe. Your style is very unique too, I appreciate that because I'm a bit tired of the capsules made from basics. Suggestions for the cord jeggings: cordgings or jegroys 🤣

    I've recently developed an interest in matching colors to skin tone so I notice that a lot more than I ever used to. That blue sweatshirt dress made your eyes POP! And the jade green bra/top that you showed first was probably the most beautiful color I've ever seen on you. I love your colorful wardrobe and always look forward to these videos so much. This one did not disappoint!

    Thanks for normalizing body changes in your seasonal capsule video! I'm right there with you on a bit of weight gain and reevaluating my wardrobe for spring/summer. I like the colors you are adding: the tie-dye looks fabulous on you and that blue dress! The adjustable styles are inspiring. I'm definitely going to make some wrap dresses for myself this summer and elastic waist pants/shorts. I just got the new Closet Core Plateau joggers/shorts pattern and I'm looking forward to making both versions in french terry. They are similar to the pants you are wearing, if you want to make yourself some. I might try refashioning some older/not fitting me-mades too but I'm not very experienced at that so we'll see. Thanks for sharing!

    This was so helpful! After a 40lb weight gain I have been steadily loosing about a pound a week over the last 8 wks. Most of my clothes are either very fitted or lounge wear. I didn't want to have to buy a new pair of jeans every few months and really wasn't sure what I should invest in during my weight loss. I always felt elastic waistbands = frumpy but you've showed me some really beautifully put together outfits and I am excited to check out a few of these brands.

    Very cool video. I have a small wardrobe (about 35 pieces with shoes and bags all year round) and I am staying at home with my small daughter during this Covid time so actually I do not even wear all I have, before I used to work in a corporate environment and I had about 50 pieces. What I did in order not to have separate capsules for work and the weekend was to use the same clothes (not too casual not too business like) and just change the jackets and shoes and it worked for me. I also put some weight during the winter... and what can I say, dresses from People Tree with elastane have been for me the best investment ever :D

    Great capsule! I love your channel and update videos. Do you have any tips for moms on how/if you made modifications to your fit or shopping practices after weight gain/kids? I found that after 2 kids my overall body shape is the same albeit with a bigger bust from nursing and general weight gain. It’s been challenging at times to keep these changes to my body in mind when selecting new-to-me pieces and shopping online. Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

    • @MyGreenCloset
      @MyGreenCloset  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks!
      It definitely can be hard to shop online, especially trying to envision how things will look on a body you're less used to dressing, but I try to look for pieces that have some stretch or fit versatility. Clothing with spandex/elastane, knit fabrics, elastic waists, or adjustable styles like looser pieces that can be belted or wrap styles, have been crucial for my wardrobe and body changes/weight fluctuations over the past couple years!
      And my other tip would be to always compare your measurements to the brand's size guide and read any fit notes. It's easy to just think "I wear size __" and order that, but you're much more likely to get a better fit if your compare your measurements. :)

    Such a fantastic capsule wardrobe!! Mine is inspired from your previous videos BTW. I feel the same about weight gain. To me it depends on how hectic is my life. Moments as finishing my PhD, doing exams to become civil servant or now with lock downs are difficult. I have to study and sit down for long hours and put on the back burner working out that much for instance. I used to worry a lot, but since I started eating (or trying) to eat only whole/real food and making an effort to do at least 10 min work out daily I feel better. Also I know that when this periods of huge work loads finish I'll be able to take care of other things. And I feel better after that :) Thanks for your video!!

    When do you decide when to put away a piece temporarily due to weight fluctuations or let go of it fully? I have so many too tight bottoms right now!

    • @MyGreenCloset
      @MyGreenCloset  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Oo that's a good question!
      Probably a year for most things - so next spring if the pieces still don't fit I'll probably try to alter or let go of them. But I think it really depends on the item! If it's something you LOVE and is really special then I would probably hang onto it longer, or alternatively if it's a piece that you feel kind meh about, it might not be worth hanging onto at all.

    • @missmatti
      @missmatti 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MyGreenCloset That's a good way to look at it! I have a skirt (with a matching jacket) that I love but it's a bit too tight now. Funnily enough, it used to be too big and straight in its shape so I took it in at the waist to fit me better. I am thinking of knitting a tweed ribbing to match and insert at the top so it's more comfortable and adjustable for size fluctuations.
      However, I have a pair of jeans from Kings of Indigo. I love them, but they didn't even fit me for a year prior to this pandemic and even when they did they were soooo tight. So I will probably let go of them, but keep some other pieces for now until I can work out a bit more outside the home again and see how my body adjusts.

    Love the green skirt, it is magical! I am a bit afraid of linen because I hate ironing, does it wrinkle a lot?

    • @SonyaandSidney
      @SonyaandSidney 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wear linen a lot. I let mine air dry on a hanger and while it has somewhat of a crinkled effect it doesn't need ironing.

    • @MyGreenCloset
      @MyGreenCloset  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It does wrinkle, but like Jailyn said, if you take it out of the wash right away and hang it up (maybe give it a bit of a shake out) you can get rid of the big wrinkles and it just has a crinkle look (which some like, some don't, depends on your preferences).
      I don't mind the crinkly look and will sometimes do nothing or a light steam. I honestly usually only give my linen clothes a good iron for photos and videos, because otherwise I get comments about needing to iron them 😅

    • @SonyaandSidney
      @SonyaandSidney 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can also smooth and lightly tug out the larger wrinkles when they're wet and hung. Don't pull hard enough to stretch the material, but done gently it works well. If you do stretch out the fabric it will reshape at the next wash. Linen tends to "grow" when worn and a stabilizer is used sometimes, like with waistbands. It makes it a very comfortable material, especially the more it softens over time.
