A season for apple pies/hand pies!!!🥰 This one is a very easy version, no need to cook the apples in advance with this recipe. * The filling to stuff in there seems like a lot of amount but since it is not cooked yet, it'll get reduced down as it bakes in the oven. I highly recommend stuffing everything in there!

I have made the pastry this afternoon with plans for tomorrow so I’m rewatching it so tomorrow morning I’ll know what to do but regarding the pastry it is sublime to make and I’ve made a similar pastry before and it called for larger pieces of butter to pepper the dough and that pastry was divine so I’m very excited about trying Aya’s recipe and I’ll make another post tomorrow regarding the end result of pastry turned into a apple hand pie and as the new season of apples are trickling into the shops what else is too make but apple hand pies 🥧 and apple pie yum Aussie gal is in the apple orchard picking yummy apples up in Bilpen and stopping by the fruit salad bowl ( it’s just a fancy name for a produce shop and cafe) the scones and cream and a hot cuppa tea ❤

Hi Aya!! Thank you for all the delicious recipes, your butter cake with rum was a smash hit with my family.
Does the crust need any adjustments if i omit the cheese? It looked like you loosely measured one cup of grated cheese, so i wondered if the butter needs to be increased at all?

Update Comment: Can you make day ahead, freeze and bake frozen. Thank cannot wait to try these. Thank you…you are a great teacher. 😊
So I did make these. Definitely scale your ingredients as if you scoop you will probably have too much flour in the dough and it will be hard for the dough to come together. I did not use anymore water than the recipe says. Was a bit difficult to come together but it did. I did but the dough on table to only slightly blend together with hands. Rested in fridge for about 4 hours. A little time consuming making the little pies. Don’t cut the apple too large or chunky. Maybe a 1/4”. If you do not have a cookie cutter big enough look for a pot top. The only change I made to the recipe is I reduced the sugar to 65 g. Made up the pies as recipe says, wrapped tray with plastic bag, froze without the egg wash and sugar. Next morning took out as many pies as I wanted to bake, turned on the oven to pre-heat. By the time the oven pre heated I was then able to make cut vents with sharp pointed knife (dough slightly thawed), egg white wash and sugared. Bake 375 F for the 35 min to 40 min. They came out perfect. So yes you can freeze, take out as many as you want when required. Wrap tight what you did not cook. If you have company this would be nice to put in the oven while you are eating dinner. Nice, light and crispy as Aya said. Thank you. Hope this helps anyone else who would like to make this. Cheers..

Yes! Seal the edge really well since the filling tend to come out more with tins (Place tins on a tray with parchment paper so that the filling is not dripping in the oven!) All the other tips applies the same. - bake longer if you need to!😉
