Hello Sheilagh, you are right, in these small period cottages closet space is often at a premium. There is usually a cubby hole or hooks somewhere to hang coats, though cottage owners often have to be quite inventive to make the best use of the space they have available!
I stayed in this pretty cottage several years ago, it's absolutely lovely, and so is Blakeney.
