@Luigi84289 Because Donkey Kong was never offically released for the Amiga this is a fan conversion of the C64 Donkey Kong done by Atarisoft(not to be confused with the Ocean software port of DK for the c64) and it seems the person(s) who did this didn't resize the sprites and such as the Atarisoft version of DK had large/wide sprites.
Call me old fashioned, but what impresses me is how accurate an arcade conversion is to a home machine. I do not want improvements to the graphics or a change to the game either, but care how it looks and plays like the original arcade game. I am amazed that I never had this game on my Amiga's of the past, since we all had tons of copied games back in the day. I am somewhat disappointed with the port; especially when considering how advanced the Amiga hardware was compared to this 8 bit, Z80 based arcade game. Nevertheless, the movement at least is good.
I have this on my old commedore, but that last stage there isn't part of it, and the one I have had slightly different sounds to it, least favorite...def the 2nd one shown, those mover things, every so often changing directions, has thrown me off a lot!, then the 2nd one, those things that bounce and drop, har har har
Think this worse than coleco? I hated coleco. Just too many details left out. No fireballs on level 1. Kong on wrong side in level 1. If u got the hammer, u were just invincible, even if a barrel hit u from behind. No springs on the elevator level. If u fell off a girder u didn't die. No cement factory. It was playable. Just shoulda named it coleco kong

That's not *all* that's unusual about Pauline... or has no one noticed that her dress is slowly disappearing the longer it takes Mario to get to her? (And yes, having played this game back in the day, I can confirm that she will indeed end up nude if you take too long...)
It's missing quite a few animation frames. Even though the Amiga is a more powerful system, the NES version looks closer to being like the Arcade version. I'm not kidding, the levels are really squashed here on the Amiga and the elevators in level 3 look like something the Intellivision could handle. And the sound effects are crap compared to the NES and Arcade versions, especially in level 3.
Shameful translation. For this game to be on the most advanced computer in that era the sound of donkey k. stomping on the platform that supports sound like crap and the animation is too choppy. This is a 16-bit machine people!!!! Out of a 10 i give this a 3 rating. Junk it!
Final Bonus Stage, D.K. blinking, Pauline yelling, "MA-RI-O!" Awsome!
Aide Perez I hadn't even noticed DK blinking.
Behold, Donkey Kong for the Amiga! The only game that feels the need to advertise itself while you're playing it!
Dynamite Heady comes to mind.
I remember buying this game for the price of a floppy disc at my local Amiga dealer. It’s a great port of Donkey Kong.
Looks like a port of Atarisoft's C64 port. Kong blinking was a nice touch.
exactly what I was thinking....poor graphics for the Amiga...and moves slow as molasses like the c64 version.....
@@datacipher Not to mention the sound is almost exactly the same as the C64 version

Well, almost everything.
More to the point, Amiga had everything.
Not on my car
Pauline is saying "BGN!" and "Ma-ri-o!"
@@InessaMaximova holy shit i just noticed that
How come it’s missing the “HOW HIGH CAN YOU GET?” Screen?
It's based off of the C64 version by Atarisoft, which didn't have that screen.
What the hell was that at 4:37 ???
4:37?
@@henrystickmin8356 It means the bonus stage is unlocked and ready to play

Um, could you somehow show this happening? Hey, don't look at me like that!!
Why Pauline's skirt gets shorter?
Maybe there's a secret ending like in metroid idk

I saw gameplay footage of this one time and all I saw was blue underwear. Does she really end up nude though?
*Mario slaps me on the back of the head*
olala...
If only it doesn't show her underwear. 😑 I would rather have her sleeves get shorter after her skirt got shorter twice.
I beated the 5th stage as level 1 in champ kong in champ modus.
4:53 you thought that was the end?
5:05 SIKE! I AM TAKING HER AGAIN
So what does PD stand for?
Public Domain.
It is a port of the US C64 version. I thought it was an official version?
