Thank you so much for your support everyone. My amazing girl was 32 years old. And passed on March 18, 2018 losing her battle with cancer. She left behind my sweet grand children - Hayden who is now 14 and Adalynn who is just 5. I can honestly say I am honored to be Becca’s mom. She was an incredible person who had a major impact in this world - she was my best friend (after we made it through the teen years) and the hole that was left in my heart with her passing is huge….. I just go forward every day remembering and honoring her. She maybe gone but she will never be forgotten. You can see her in my profile picture with me… Thank you for doing this song for me and for her. I found this channel through our mutual love of Home Free… I stay because, let’s face it, the Saucy fam is the best. Much love to you all.

Pamela. I hope that you are doing well. This song means a lot to me. My experience was a bit different
I lost my mom, when I was 10
She was 32. The worst words that were ever said to me, " I know how you feel". I can't know how you feel. I am very sorry for your loss. I'm also very happy that your grandchildren have you. Much love to all of you.

I lost my 33 year old daughter to cervical cancer just over a year ago. So, from one mama to another, I send you hugs of understanding and peace.
The hole never closes, but I know my Emily would tell me to get it together and get on with life. I do that... sometimes...
At least her horrific suffering has ended, and she's safe and whole again. I miss her so much it still takes my breath, and I know you suffer similarly. I'm so sorry.
I see your broken heart mama... I can't fix either of us, but, I can say my heart goes out to you and you are not alone. I am so deeply profoundly sorry for your loss. There are no words adequate.
We must never forget... and... hold on to memories...
      Blessings and peace...
      Emily Forever 33

It was inspired by that Disney movie. David took his son to see it and then wrote this song. I think it's Coco.

  • @contranimal

The movie you are thinking of from Disney/Pixar is called "Coco" and deals with the holiday Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a day to remember the family members who have passed on and celebrate their memory. I did see an interview with David about this song and he said that the movie Coco did help inspire the song.

Love this song. So glad Pamela suggested it. I hope it helps in her healing. There's not a lot anyone can do to lessen the pain of losing a loved one, but some things do make the process a little easier. Hearing messages like the one in this song is one of those. I love how the people in the video put on the masks at the end and enjoy remembering their lost ones by doing the things they enjoyed together. Pamela, I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine the pain you're going through, as I am a mother of five myself. Just, please, don't forget that you're not alone in that pain. Nick, glad you're feeling at least a little better. Take care of yourself, and we will all take care of one another. Saucy Fam!

David Draiman..... a powerful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime. He has a timbre in his voice that's incredible........just hauntingly beautiful. An awesome talent. Loved your reaction and your take on the song SauceyDad .....David can make you cry or give you goosebumps or BOTH! His voice goes right through you!

Pamela, I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss. You picked a beautiful, meaningful song to pay tribute to your daughter with. Sending up prayers for you and your family. 🙏
If you haven't heard him sing like this, does that mean you haven't checked out their cover of, "Sound of Silence"? Because if not, you need that in your life. I love both the live version on Conan and the official video. You really need to see both, for different reasons. The imagery in the video is stunning and the whole song/video package is a masterpiece. Other songs of theirs you can look for like this that have a lot of David's clean tones are: "A Reason To Fight," "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You." And once you hear this clean tone (he was trained classically as a Jewish cantor), you begin to hear that foundation in every song, no matter how much distortion he puts on top. The melodic nature, the power, the vocal choices he makes, the sheer musicianship. I am fascinated by his completely unique voice. You cannot mistake him for anyone else, that's for sure. You are right he is an artist and a human exactly like ... no one else.

I absolutely love this song. Funny (but not so funny) thing…I got COVID last March and was very very sick. I actually had the conversation with my (adult) children that if I didn’t survive the illness that I wanted them to play this song, while renting a party boat and scattering my ashes into McCovey Cove (I’m a lifelong SF Giants fan). Obviously didn’t come to that but my request still stands for a later (hopefully much later) date. 😬
