Well done, Peter! This is when we pay the price for the enjoyment the roses gave us during the season. Most of mine have been cut back now, but one or two may still suffer damage in the winds tomorrow - we are on the edge of the red area on the warning maps, so it may get quite breezy.
I think my hopes of a late flush are unlikely now!

Thanks for the comments Nik. I was thinking about you when I put this video up. I hope Storm Darrah doesn't do you any harm. I've still got the rest of my climbers to do, hopefully before Christmas. I've still got a couple of roses out on The Pilgrim and several on the Rural England. Plenty of buds on the Blush Noisette that probably won't come to much now. P.

Hi Peter, what a great job, well done. I ordered her last week, she's on her way and should be here tomorrow. I may regret this decision haha she might eat me alive ! Hope Darragh doesn't catch any of our precious babies🤞Thanks for the video, take care.

Hi Linda and thanks for your comments. I shall be very interested to see where you put your Mme. Alfred Carriere. I've had mine for quite a few years now and probably don't prune them hard enough. I first came across them at Sissinghurst Castle where they had two. The oldest one got replaced with another a couple of years ago. I shall be interested to see how it's doing maybe very soon. If you're interested, and I'm sure you will be, you'll find some very usefull information about Mme. A. C. on another TH-camr up in Norfolk that I follow. His Channel goes under 'Gardeners Cottage Blakeney'. He's done a really good video on Mme. A.C. If you go on his channel and look for 'English Rose Garden Tour Madame Alfred Carriere' or just put it up on 'Search' you should find it. He posted it around 4 years ago. He also put another one up one year ago 'Climbing Rose Madame Alfred Carriere Pruning Tips' which is really useful. I have just noticed a certain Jay Jay has even made a comment on that one. This chap has some really lovely roses. I hope you find those two videos, they're really good. I hope Storm Darrah causes you no harm. Cheers! P.

@@peterhaymaker7562 Good morning Peter, I have no idea where she's going yet, par for the course really with me as I have quite a few to find homes for at the moment, my husband is always asking where are you going to put that ! haha trying to convince me we are full 🤣It doesn't work. Thanks for the info on the youtuber I will check that out now. HaH not surprised you found The Angel on there - I think he's everywhere roses !!! So far so good re. Darragh, I've moved quite a few containers into the garage and I stacked chairs, table up out of the way. It's raining here at the moment I think the winds are expected to pick up soon so fingers crossed. I'm just looking at a Crab Apple tree I planted recently hoping I staked it well enough ! I hope you're all good down there and Darragh is kind to everyone, take care.

@@soulgirlktfGood morning Linda, A wet and windy one but nothing more fortunately. I hope it gets no worse for anyone today. Both videos are very useful, the latest one perhaps more so. Mme. A C is very healthy, very few thorns, has a gorgeous scent and I love her. I guess the chap in Norfolk does too as I think he mentioned he has several of them. She is pretty vigorous and needs some understanding but is definitely worth it. I love her. Cheers! P.

@@peterhaymaker7562 Thanks Peter, watching those videos now, very good info. It is very pretty and a lovely thing to do when it's blowing a gale outside dreaming of Summer and the roses. It's wet and windy here too but so far so good, nothing damaging I hope this is the worse of it. My newly planted Crab Apple is holding it's own 👍 You did the right thing pruning Mme. A C when you did because this wind is very gusty and powerful at times. It's a stay indoors and keep warm kind of day, take care.
