Hi, I know how recipes are carefully thought out before you share them. I really want to make this soup. But suppose you had a best friend who did not eat cooked carrots (I do) and you wanted to replace it with another vegetable which one would you go for? Thank you so much! I enjoy watching your videos.
@@FoodImpromptu @@FoodImpromptu ahh I see my folly, I wanted to ask about a vegetable that's not sweet in taste. I don't want to bother you anymore though. I'll try to figure it out. Thank you for such a quick response! ❤
@@FoodImpromptu I like that idea! It will be sauteed with the onions so it will lose its rawness. I'm going to give it a try and get back to you. Thank you! ❤
I am a diabetic in my 60s who is changing over to a plant-based diet - your recipes are fantastic! Simple, with everyday ingredients. The videos are also art in themselves. So thankful to have found your channel.
I love how you put the quantity of all the ingredients in the video and how many grams and millilitres are in the corner of the video too. And thank you for putting the full written recipe below the video! Your content is miles ahead of everyone else!
Thank you so much for this recipe; it has been extremely helpful. I’ve had some serious medical issues this year, which has done two things; first, I’ve lost a scary amount of weight and second, I’m not able to cook as much as I used to. I’m a vegetarian, so it’s been hard to find very simple recipes for my partner to cook for me (he does not enjoy cooking) that are easy to digest but are still very nutritious. This recipe has all that and more - it’s delicious! I’ve had this soup for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at various points over the last 6 months, and I’m not sick of it yet. Seriously, thank you. I know this is an older video, but I wanted you to know I appreciate this so much.
I make my red lentil soup using the same ingredients, the onion-garlic-carrot combo just works. The great thing about this soup is that you can use different spices every time and get a slightly different - but always yummy - dish. Thanks for sharing yours!
Beautifully done every time, very esthetic and topnotch production. What a pleasure and such wonderful recipes. When it comes to cooking channels, you are in a class by your self
Stationed in Turkey in 1960, a Turkish friend invited me to supper. It was just a simple meal, but his wife made us red lentil soup. Back then, there was no electricity, much less "immersion" blenders, yet she made a soup that 64 years later I still can taste and crave. Turkish bread, lentil soup, Turkish tea. Doesn't get easier and tastier.
Hi there! 😊 I want you to know I made both your Spinach Lentils and Green beans. Excellent dishes, thanks again! ❤️! You are truly inspiring on so many levels. This recipe looks divine also 😋 Enjoy your day!
I have watched all of your videos and I am getting ready to start cooking them. I will definitely let you know how I like them. They all look delicious and very healthy! Thanks for sharing. 👍❤
Thank you for this amazing recipe, just had it and it was hard to stop after 2 bowls because it tasted so great! Looking forward to cooking more out of your video cookbook (already have soooo many on my list!!) thanks again!!
made a double batch of this today - very happy with the results. (note: a double batch calls for about 1/2 of a 6 oz can of tomato paste - why waste lovely tomato paste? use the entire can)
Just done cooking, about to enjoy this soup. No doubt in my mind that it’s going to be delicious! Made quite a few of your recipes and they’re all great! Like really great! Little side note, for the tempering you say to add paprika at the end but I don’t see the quantity, nothing very important as we can choose to our own taste but maybe you want to add how much you use. Thank you for all you’re great recipes 🙏🏽
Thank you! It looks perfect and I will make it tomorrow. Love your pots and pants! Could you please include in the description what kind of cookware do you use and where to buy it? Thank you.
This looks wonderful. We're due for a cold snap this week so I will be making this soon. It'll be lovely and warming. Question: do you have a recipe for chickpea pancakes? I looked and didn't see one. There's the avocado flatbread that could use it I think. I have a giant bag of chickpea flour that I got to make your excellent black bean burgers and wanted to use it more often. The one I found has flour, water, nutritional yeast, salt, garlic/onion powder, turmeric, black pepper, baking soda and a little lemon juice. I added thinly sliced scallions and they were delicious but I bet a recipe from you would be even better. I ate them as is but I think they'd make a good wrap as well. If you have a recipe to share, I'd be grateful.
Thanks, I will definitely be making this soon, what is the difference between vegetable broth and vegetable stock, I haven’t used broth before, would it work with veg stock cubes?
Vegetable broth and stock are basically the same. The only one difference I can point out is broth uses trimmed vegetables and stock uses vegetables with peels/trimmings. Sure vegetable stock cubes will work too. Let me know how it goes :)
@@FoodImpromptu great!, thanks for the reply,I will let you know how it went, looks delicious and healthy, can I use split red lentils?, I have them here and all the other ingredients
I feel pulled from what I was just doing to assure at once that I have all the ingredients needed for this lentil soup. As always when Food Impromptu posts another culinary and audiovisual delight. If only the olfactory element were exportable and tariff-free, too. I don't think I could abandon my computer screen.

That tadka looks delish. I usually use cumin seed. I’ll try it with red pepper flakes. Thanks!
Great way to make this! I also add a little bit of EVOO at the end, so the soup keeps longer when I make a larger batch.

Is it possible to avoid using oil to cook the spices and use water instead? ~ Ginger
Of course it is.
sure, but the spices bloom better in a bit of oil. you can fry it dry, when it smells fragrant add it in. careful not to burn.
We can use other lentiles ?
I left my chunky
I don’t have a hand blender. Can I use a regular blender?
Yes
🥰
I think I would reduce the water to only one cup as it looks too runny. I like my soup a little bit on the thicker side.
👍👍👍🥰😘😘😘😘🙏🏼
Is this the handful of likes channel?
