  • Let's learn how to make a cozy soup perfect for fall and winter - lentil soup or as we call it in Arabic, Shorbat Addis! I partnered with my favorite olive oil brand, Filippo Berio, to bring you this recipe and it won't disappoint. It's the only olive oil I use in my kitchen and it makes all the difference when you use quality ingredients :)
This video is sponsored by Filippo Berio!
    INGREDIENTS
2 to 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
    1/2 yellow onion, diced
    2 teaspoons minced garlic
    2/3 cup shaved carrots
    1 1/2 cup red lentils
    4 cups chicken broth
    2 to 3 cups water
    1 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1 teaspoon turmeric
1 to 2 teaspoons cumin, to taste
1 to 2 teaspoons salt, to taste
    Red pepper flakes, to taste
Lemon wedges, to squeeze on top
*For the water and broth, you can use only broth too! To make this vegetarian/vegan, use vegetable broth.

The red lentils need to be washed and rinsed several times before cooking. They are filthy if not washed.

To note, lentils should be soaked overnight and rinsed out so that your body will benefit from its nutrients when added to your ingredients while cooking. All of the starch on it, if not soaked and rinsed, will make it harder for the body to digest.

    • @habibmate-qc3lv
      @habibmate-qc3lv ปีที่แล้ว +21

resistant starch is very good for your digestion. I don’t know who’s been feeding you lies but soaking is only necessary for beans as they are too hard and won’t cook.

I would wash the red lentil and soak them in water for about one hour.
The same soup made with Mung Dal ( washed-split) tastes divine and is good for health.

Everything is healthy in her soup because she put everything in balance amount. It’s Middle Eastern lentil soup and it’s very healthy. She uses all spices but in as small amount. Indian food is not healthy because they use a lot amount of spices and chillis which makes stomach burn and stomach ach. Most of Pakistanis eat very healthy balanced spicy and chill food which is good and healthy. Pakistan food ingredients are same and recipe is same but difference is their balance use of spices and chilli which is healthy . So balance in food is very important. Excess amount in something is dangerous for health. Even English people eat healthy food they use balance spicy . I myself put balance amount of spices in Pakistani food with garlic and chilli. Kurdish, Turkish people put garlic in their soup with Kurdish Middle Eastern spices in balance amount which is healthy.
