That was an inspiring talk. I think he possibly missed a very significant influence. I live on a road in Levenshulme called the Crescent (Mrs. Whites house) which was intersected by another road that has standard box houses, except the one on the end. This has a triangular-shaped end, to match the crescent shape. I remember a cruel psychology experiment where new kittens were only introduced to horizontal lines, they could not understand verticals and would walk into table legs. I saw Norman outside this house once it is where he was bought up in a house that was not a box but also had triangles, he does not just see boxes. We are now trying to develop the old library as a multi discipline collaborative arts space.
