Something about sprouts that you forgot to mention is that you can start with any number of dots, not just 3. In fact games for I think up to 6 dots are already solved games
My son’s middle school math teacher assigned Sprouts as part of “summer family fun” (along with Apollonian gaskets and symmetry nature walk). Thank you for helping us understand the game!
With sprouts there is a maximum amount of moves based on the number of dots, however you can win by forcing the game to finish quicker with tactical use of lines blocking other live dots
It's true that there is a perfect strategy for each game of Sprouts, but each time you add a dot to the beginning of the game the number of branches shoots up. A mathematician bet another one he couldn't map out a 6-dot game, and it took 47 pages. There's a lot of math, but basically, perfect play favors players in groups of 3. So 0, 1, and 2 dots favors player 2. 3, 4, and 5 starting dots wins for player 1. 6, 7, 8 is player 2, and 9, 10, 11 is player one, etc. So if you want to be fair, play 2 games. 1 with 5 starting dots, and 1 with 6. If it ties, and another set, and so on.

I NEED TO PLAY IT
Where you drew the arrow, wasn’t that the dot Emilie mistakenly made?
She corrected the line but kept the dot so it’s fine
