Red Alert: How can we concentrate on this when Optimus is fighting?! Hot Shot: I know! Scattershot: What's the point of all this if we lose Optimus? Override: That's true but we have to stay focused on the greater good. Jetfire: That's right! This is what Optimus wanted! And we can't let him down! I remember as a young man, first beginning my obsession with transformers, around the time this show started playing on cartoon network. Out of all the songs heard in that show, this is one of the few that I still remember so fondly
Same here. Cybertron was what kicked my Transformers (and by proxy, mecha) obsession. It had everything I love from anime (yes, this actually was an anime, look it up) - hammy, larger than life characters, detailed combination sequences and this fantastic OST by Megumi Ohashi. I feel saddened to see mecha is no longer at its' well-deserved place as one of Japan's biggest contributions to fiction in general. The anime landscape changed in such a radical fashion too, and I honestly don't understand why people think mecha are childish while they indulge in the lowest-common-denominator battle shounen trash. As adults. I'd say being awed by the power of the machine is more adult than craving some silly superpower.

I had a similar sensation with the music from the original Sunbow show. This stuff is right up there, though.
