So fun fact: they did experiments on caterpillars like putting them on colored surfaces and poking them with pins or light prods of electric shocks and when they transformed into butterflies, the butterflies basically remember the negative experiences they had as caterpillars and avoided flowers of those colors.

I raise a few monarchs every year. My first year I was confused because I could only see 4 legs on them. “Insects have 6 legs, where’s the other 2?”
Maybe I had weird butrerflies. Googled it and found a description of where the other 2 are, but no good pictures. This video and it’s AMAZING cinematography let me see where those legs, the front two, are! Tucked up under its chin, ready to poke or push or feel. Thanks so much for this!

It's not really about killing itself, the old body automatically turns into liquid, it cannot control it, but some cells are still alive.
