I have come to the conclusion Fiskars tools are pretty darn good. You can't beat the warranty too. Been using the X25 and X27. Those axes just work like a top. Love it. Thanks for your video.
I like these Fiskars tools. The small Sappie is a really useful tool for handling smaller logs. The brush hook works pretty well on undergrowth, brambles, green hazel, willow, alder, etc. up to maybe 30 mm. Don't try and force it into axe duties on much bigger stuff! I personally much prefer the older Fiskars brush hook blade shape. Fiskars handles are incredibly durable, well-designed and smooth and just about the best for NOT raising 'hot spots' and blisters.
That older fiskars branch saw looks very usefull. Ive been looking for something that I can just mount on a branch in the field. Anyone know of a company that makes something similar?
X3 is an older model. I have used x3 for 2 seasons to clear out parasite bush in my forest. It can cut down a hazel 2-3 fingers thick in one blow, providing you hit it with the curved part. Xa3- looks like an upgrade of x3, cutting curve is more prominent and the whole blade seems to be shifted backwards, giving more swing. If you are serious about it, just go for Husqvarna 500 series- Brushcutters :)
