I can relate to Nick's feeling of not being able to easily trust people.
It's one thing for jealous haters to hate you. But it stings when you don't believe hearsay about others, yet they do about you. And they ended up constantly scheming against and attacking you, while they should be the one on your side. You're always guilty until proven innocent. You have to slave away with explanations because your words don't matter because you don't matter.
It's not worth it.
