Interesting thesis. The connection to Thutmosis IV makes sense and leaves many questions unanswered, like how he came to be Pharoah. It's not the first time that an heir apparent died before his father, for example his father, Amenhotep II wasn't the eldest son either. That Thutmusis IV erected the Sphinx Stela, indicates a "palace coup' occurred. And, I suspect whatever instability there was in the pharonic line of succession, it started with Amenhotep II who some believe was the Pharoah of the Exodus. Your videos are always excellent. Though personally, I can’t say his name without using the moniker the Ancient Egyptians used, “The Traitor Akhenaten.” It’s certainly true that the Ancient Egyptians had a concept of a universal creator god. As they at times used the term “god” and “gods” interchangeably. But I think that what needs to be stressed is that the Egyptians, like other ancient cultures, didn’t have much of a problem in believing in multiple truths. This is a kingdom where each town had their own gods and mythologies, and yet never tore itself apart over the multitude of beliefs. It’s telling that Amarna was abandoned after the reign of The Traitor Akhenaten.

Atum was relevant to the ancient Egyptians throughout most of Egypt's history. He is believed to have been present in ideology as early as predynastic times, becoming even more prevalent during the Old Kingdom and continuing to be worshiped through the Middle and New Kingdoms when he becomes overshadowed by Re. Atum is the primordial god in Egyptian mythology from whom all else arose. He created himself and is the father of Shu and Tefnut, the divine couple, who are the ancestors of the other Egyptian deities. He is also the ancestor of all the other gods and the father of the pharaohs. As the god of the evening sun, he has a dual nature: he is both the source of life and the bringer of death. Dear Ancient Sites Girl, Thank you for this video 🙂 When reading the Egyptian Ogdoad Stories of Creation, we have Atum-Ra as a primordial deity, i.e., one who existed before the creation of the ancient know world. from several Stories of Creation we can read that the Solar System was a secondary formation and the center of the Milky Way and its close surroundings was the first to be created. This connects Atum-Ra to the Milky Way Light and to the Milky Way Disk symbolism. Later on the Sun and the planets were created, hence the Sun was a "Son of Atum-Ra", simply named Ra and connected to the Sun Disk. Be we HAVE to DIFFER between these TWO sources of LIGHT as they bear their own symbolism which distorts the entire telling and its different symbolism when conflicted and confused. Unfortunately I am no expert on the Hermopolitan theology (Ogdoad). Atenism drew on the Heliopolitan tradition, of course distorting it, and eventually rejecting it altogether.
Ra is the solar deity, Aten is the physical sun disk. Atum-Ra is a combined deity, where they fused the solar deity with the most powerful creator god (or at least with the most powerful priesthood) Atum, the ram headed god. Atum-Ra is not part of the ogdoad, that exists of the 4 pair Nu and Naunet, Hehe and Hehet, Kek and Keket, and Amun and Amunet. The eight primordial ones. The ancient Egyptian pantheon is very complex with national gods, local gods, benevolent and dangerous ones, well known and really obscure ones, so some of them are going to be quite hard to tell apart for us, millennia after they were worshipped.

I find these tranformations of polytheism to monotheism quite interesting and I think more connected than our present understanding of history. It would be highly unlikely the Moses story could be connected to Kemet without influence to the Torah.
Well it’s nice to see someone taking a firm stand one way or another. I’m of the opinion that these Pharaoh’s were all despots to one degree or another. From all that I’ve read it seems to me that Akhenaten was fed up with the Priestly class as they’d consolidated too much power. He got this disdain from dad!! He was just continuing his father’s wishes and getting total resistance even in his own court. Which is how we got Armana!! The priests along with their acolytes, the people, resisted mightily and I would imagine things got more and more repressive. What happened at the end is anybody’s guess….and lord knows….everybody has!!! Seems to me the aftermath was 20 years of instability just as they’d reached a zenith in the wealth dept. Two things that seem to be overlooked. Akhenaten’s older bro who dies just before Amenhotep III does…..he’d been groomed for two decades and suddenly dies….that must’ve been terrible shock , yet no one knows shit about him?!?! There is one word you regularly mispronounce that is a little hard to understand for english listeners. “Thou” is pronounced “thow” (rhymes with “ow!”). You are saying it like the word “though” which is a bit confusing. Your voice is lovely to listen to though!
i like what your saying but there was also a tactical need to unify egypt against gathering outside threats, as you may know, shortly after the passing of akhenaton egypt was conquered by outsiders. there was real politick involved in this decision to attempt to unify egyptian culture . Later on, this would lead to the pheobian pharoahs, that is the greek/roman due to they're being partly related to the original pharonic dynasty and certainly during that later period of vanity pharoahs that had no blood line relationship to previous rulers but had rather usurped the pharonic position through avarice guile and murder.
Amarna tended to ignore external threats, which were only managed by Horemheb and the Ramassids, and there was no conquest of Egypt after Akhenaten's death. ..

@@ancientsitesgirl are you familiar with the oldest version of the Moses story in the Yahwist source? It doesn't contain a lot of changes to Moses's story. It doesn't mention Aaron as his brother in fact the only time it mentions Aaron is to identify him as the idolator who fashioned the golden calf. The weirdest part is when you read the Massoretic text, Exodus in ancient Hebrew calls Moses the word for Pharaoh. The part where people complain about God hardening Pharaoh's heart which they say isn't just. In ancient Hebrew it is actually Moses's heart that God hardens to leave. Even the mummy of Tutankhaten riddled with malaria parasites shows his death was likely related to the Nile going red with algae and the resulting other plagues of Egypt would have caused spoiling of food and malaria carrying insects. I think he's the oldest son of Pharaoh that died on passover and gave his mother Neferneferaten who was Pharaoh a motive to hate her husband's "God" and his followers. The story also says Moses took a new wife among the Hebrews... I think the recorded rule of King Tut was in name only and I think they used his sister who was "married" to him to pull off the charade.

In Genesis in the Bible light is the first thing God creates which was to say light is not God and they distinguish it because on day four God creates the sun which is odd as they knew the sun to be the source of light during the day. Interesting thesis. The connection to Thutmosis IV makes sense and leaves many questions unanswered, like how he came to be Pharoah. It's not the first time that an heir apparent died before his father, for example his father, Amenhotep II wasn't the eldest son either. That Thutmusis IV erected the Sphinx Stela, indicates a "palace coup' occurred. And, I suspect whatever instability there was in the pharonic line of succession, it started with Amenhotep II who some believe was the Pharoah of the Exodus. Though personally, I can’t say his name without using the moniker the Ancient Egyptians used, “The Traitor Akhenaten.” It’s certainly true that the Ancient Egyptians had a concept of a universal creator god. As they at times used the term “god” and “gods” interchangeably. But I think that what needs to be stressed is that the Egyptians, like other ancient cultures, didn’t have much of a problem in believing in multiple truths. This is a kingdom where each town had their own gods and mythologies, and yet never tore itself apart over the multitude of beliefs. It’s telling that Amarna was abandoned after the reign of The Traitor Akhenaten.

When reading the Egyptian Ogdoad Stories of Creation, we have Atum-Ra as a primordial deity, i.e., one who existed before the creation of the ancient know world.
from several Stories of Creation we can read that the Solar System was a secondary formation and the center of the Milky Way and its close surroundings was the first to be created.
This connects Atum-Ra to the Milky Way Light and to the Milky Way Disk symbolism.
Later on the Sun and the planets were created, hence the Sun was a "Son of Atum-Ra", simply named Ra and connected to the Sun Disk.
Be we HAVE to DIFFER between these TWO sources of LIGHT as they bear their own symbolism which distorts the entire telling and its different symbolism when conflicted and confused.

Unfortunately I am no expert on the Hermopolitan theology (Ogdoad). Atenism drew on the Heliopolitan tradition, of course distorting it, and eventually rejecting it altogether.
Ra is the solar deity, Aten is the physical sun disk. Atum-Ra is a combined deity, where they fused the solar deity with the most powerful creator god (or at least with the most powerful priesthood) Atum, the ram headed god. Atum-Ra is not part of the ogdoad, that exists of the 4 pair Nu and Naunet, Hehe and Hehet, Kek and Keket, and Amun and Amunet. The eight primordial ones. The ancient Egyptian pantheon is very complex with national gods, local gods, benevolent and dangerous ones, well known and really obscure ones, so some of them are going to be quite hard to tell apart for us, millennia after they were worshipped.

I’m of the opinion that these Pharaoh’s were all despots to one degree or another. i like what your saying but there was also a tactical need to unify egypt against gathering outside threats, as you may know, shortly after the passing of akhenaton egypt was conquered by outsiders. there was real politick involved in this decision to attempt to unify egyptian culture . The part where people complain about God hardening Pharaoh's heart which they say isn't just. In ancient Hebrew it is actually Moses's heart that God hardens to leave. In Genesis in the Bible light is the first thing God creates which was to say light is not God and they distinguish it because on day four God creates the sun which is odd as they knew the sun to be the source of light during the day. To Akhenaten it was light that was associated with the sun disc and is represented as the arrows coming to earth from the sun disc.
