Welcome to Melbourne! Enjoy exploring the city, the great food and beautiful coffee. Don’t forget to take a trip up into the Dandenong Ranges and a trip down the Great Ocean Road. ❤
Everyone has their’housemove’ tradition; mine is on the day I pick up the keys, I get fish and chips from my ‘new’ store, and sit on the lounge room floor and eat while I plan out the room
Welcome to Melbourne. The most cultured, progressive state in Australia. Plenty of sport too if you're into that and I don't need to mention the shopping, you beat me to it. Have fun. Never a dull moment in Melbourne 😃
Welcome to the North Island. Keep up the excellent work. And enjoy the "interesting" Melbourne weather. We are in NSW near Canberra in a small village. We escaped from Sydney in 1988 and we wandered round Orange, Blayney, Cowra and Dubbo before arriving in Gundaroo. Enjoy Ikea. It can be dangerous. I spent a couple of weeks at a Scout Jamboree in Melbourne in the dim distant past. It was hot, dry, dusty and I ended in hospital with Chicken Pox. I had an extended stay until my Pox cleared up and then I had to suffer a day train to Sydney. Ah, those were the days. (1960s). We have visited Melbourne several times. Great city. Mike and Chris
Welcome to Melbourne and traffic that you'll never see in Tassie. And you're right about how some drivers have no idea what they're doing. Hope to see you out exploring the outer eastern suburbs soon. One little tiny thing. Please look at the camera lens not your picture. It feels like you're talking to someone next to me. Great job as always. Hope to see more of your partner.
Appliances Online is a good option for electronics. I second the suggestions of Amart for furniture. It’s so expensive to set up a home, but welcome to beautiful Melbourne! The traffic is LA level awful, but the public transport is excellent. Enjoy exploring in your down time, and I hope you have great coworkers who make your dream job even better!
I love countryside small town as well as big metropolitan cities with skyscrapers. I am still deciding which part of Australia I am going to spend my older days. Both are equally wonderful.
From someone who has lived on the coast and in the Riverina, both for long periods, the city is the best option for elderly. Why?Good public transport, access to services and medical specialists within easy proximity. If you are living close to a regional centre like Albury, Port MacQuarie, Townsville, Goulburn etc. some of the needs older people require are avillable.
WELCOME!!! You made a great choice! I've lived in Melbourne for over a decade now and i love it here so much. Please check out the Queen Vic Markets food hall, you will not be disappointed! Also, there's loads of great little eateries in China Town. Also, if you like a bagel, go to Glicks in St Kilda East. They do the most AMAZING, NY style bagels.
If you are into board games at all, I'm part of a group that runs board game groups all over Melbourne! It's a great way to meet new people. Hit me up if you're interested.
Yeah g'day, Good luck in Melbney, it means you are closer for a possible visiting the Sealions over here in Esperance, well closer than what Hobart was.
Welcome to Melbourne, where the traffic is bat shit crazy. Sadly from Tassie to Melbourne, you will find it difficult to get used to the traffic but you will. Go to Amart.
Yay for the first Melbourne vlog! Lol at your getting distracted and going to markets etc, I can definitely relate. Ans same eirh Kmart, it's the Aussie tradition, going for one thing abd walk our with a bunch of stuff you never knew you needed lol. I do love Kmart though, unashamedly. Love their homewares, they even have some cute dressess, shorts and t shirts. Looking forward to seeing more of you Melb/Victoria adventures. Is Brady in the same line of work as you? Marine science? All the best with the new job! 🙂
Welcome ❤🎉😄😄 Note to self I won't be planning a trip on that boat from Tassie, them trying to squeeze every penny out of you, blocking Netflix, and your ability to access wifi in your cabin, uugh, such a letdown. All these ads about how amazing it is when instead you're underwhelmed!! But anyway, that's past now, I'm 3 hours west on the great Ocean road, good luck and hope you enjoy your stay 😁
Welcome to Melbourne 😊. The city is a wonderful place, and I hope that you enjoy living here. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but you can visit Usafoods, and it’s close to my place
You escaped, sorry, "moved"? Well, as sad as it is that we've lost you to the mainland, I wish you the best. You'll do well over there, but you're always welcome back. To my fellow Tasmanians, perpare the "certainly not a bribe" package for our escapee, I mean "friend." But seriously, Ashleigh, best of luck, I shall continue to follow your Australian adventure and hopefully it's a permanent one. Maybe one day your family might follow you to the land down under! We fellow Aussies will welcome them I'm sure. Yes by fellow Aussies I am calling you an Aussie now.
Melbourne? whats wrong withya’s! Nah good good stuff mates. I left Melbourne 27 years ago for Beechworth nth east Vic. I HIGHLY suggest you visit some country pubs. You have many out east. DO IT. Glad to see you come back. You’ll love it mate.

I always order in Pad Thai for my first night
Oh wow, Melbourne is a different world! Being from Perth, I’d struggle with that traffic but I would LOVE the shopping.
You shopped at my local lol. I’ve bought heaps of stuff from Preston Good Guys. Fun fact, that whole complex used to be drive in movies.
omg no way!

The only thing that matters is; who will you "barrack" for in the footy? Tassie Devils?
Good luck with the new job. As you can see the state rivalry is strong especially from Sydney residents. Enjoy our wonderful state.
Best of luck with the new job and have fun in the big city.
thank you so much!
The Lights are to keep you awake, so you don't zone out and goto sleep and cause a tunnel blockage / accident :)
It's actually to keep the pace in the tunnel because people tend to move slower as they don't have external references to compare their speed against
I think you’ll probably love it✨✨✨✨ it should be pretty good and interesting enough
Welcome to Melbourne sweetheart - coffee capital of the world ☕️
Looks like my old hood Vic Gardens. You’ll love it here! I moved from Perth over two years ago and never looked back 😊

You can usually pick up decent, cheaper furniture at auctioneers. I don't know if you've tried that yet. Then there's the Trading Post.

"Cos IKEA has ...' MADE ME LAUGH OUT LOUD . The death nell (knell?) of relationships.
Having a partner who isn't a relation is quite normal in Melbourne
Move to Adelaide it’s cheaper.
What is cheap in Australia ? Or Adelaide ?
"Exposed... He he" haha
Did you try Fantastic Furniture while you were at Northland, their prices are reasonable for beds......
it was sadly so expensive there!
I love IKEA
ME TOO! was deprived of it in Tassie
Melbourne? whats wrong withya’s! Nah good good stuff mates. I left Melbourne 27 years ago for Beechworth nth east Vic. I HIGHLY suggest you visit some country pubs. You have many out east. DO IT. Glad to see you come back. You’ll love it mate.
