The day belonged to Washy, Axar, and Ashwin as England’s attitude and method continued to be wishy-‘washy’. They kept falling into a bottomless pit of their own making. They are going to carry a lot of mental scars back with them to England. The pitches weren’t that bad but the English batters made them out to be. Guys love the podcast. I am indian living in sydney and have so many fan stories to share on how much pain and extent we go to be in stadiums. It would be great if i can share some insights about indian cricket
As an Indian who lived in the UK, USA and Canada, I have heard many native speakers of the english language. But for the way you guys talk, you truly are legends. I am sure history will judge you so too.
Interesting fact: Washington scored highest runs and took maximum wickets in TNPL (State IPL) tournament 2019. Thats when India looked at him with one eye.
I want to talk about world test championship. Not this one that is going to happen but the ones after this. Shud we have a series in a world test championship final? 3 match perhaps. Test cricket is played overtime to decide which is the better team so shouldn't that be applied in the finals? I would go even further and say play in 3 different conditions..a bouncy pitch, one in swinging condition and also in a spinning condition. Thoughts?!!
That's what i even was thinking, since one & single test only/alone can not be final criteria for to be a world champion. Also appreciate your idea of three different conditions
#ASKTGC BOYS! Sorry that is so long and rambling, but I am at a crossroads in my cricketing life and need your help desperately. It is now spring in England, and with our changing lockdown rules making cricket a possibility this summer, I have been inspired to play a few back garden test matches against my younger brother. The way the test series in India has wrapped up makes me think there may even be a spot for me batting at 3 for my country, although I consider myself more of an opener. There is just one slight problem. I have completely forgotten how to bat. As you can imagine, this is a pretty big problem. I managed to shrug off last summer’s poor form by pretending that I only play cricket because “it’s the only sport you can have a drink or two while playing.” This is a lie. Deep down, I truly yearn to rediscover my magic form of the golden summers of 2017 and some of 2018, the only time I hit the ball off the square before or since. However, the problem goes much deeper than my (many) technical frailties. My worst fears, no, my worst nightmares have come true: my brother is in the best nick I’ve ever seen. It took me 40 minutes to get him out last night, even with a taped up tennis ball going round corners and a pitch that makes the Himalayans look like a pretty flat deck. I was then clean bowled in my first over trying to remember what a batting stance looks like. To express the magnitude of this blow to my psyche, I think I need to give you chaps some context. My brother is 17, and so has played two age groups below me all his life. We now both play for the senior 1st team at our local club. After scoring one 50 when I was 16, I decided that I no longer bowled, in the guise of “giving someone else a go” but actually because I couldn’t be arsed. He, on the other hand, has kept the mantle of all-rounder, earning himself the nickname “The Golden Child” from our captain. Apparently, this is because he is “better than you in every way,” and there is an unsettling subtext that he is our dad’s favourite. Being the older brother, I have enjoyed the upper hand for a number of years now; I even beat the dopey prick out of the womb by 18 months. Yet I have always had a nagging feeling that he might, one day, get quite good at this cricket thing. As much as it pains me to say it, I know that this ‘good form’ is simply what he was always been capable of doing. Last season, I had to concede that he is now a better bowler than me (apparently 10 ball overs aren’t good?). Fair enough, but at least I had my batting to fall back on. I hope you now understand the severity of the situation. My question is simple: what do I do now? Do I accept my role as a mates-with-the-captain and your-brother-plays-ones-so-I-guess-you¬-should-too based selection? Do I take the moral high ground, and remind everyone “I taught him that” as he crashes yet another devastating drive through the covers, a feat I haven’t achieved since that perfect summer in ’17? But if either of you have siblings, you will know the moral high ground is a myth. It is World War One, a time with terrifying killing technology but still no concept of a 'war crime'. But unless I begin a semi-sexual obsession with shadow batting a la Steve Smith, I cannot see how I’m going to improve the amount I need to before this season starts. There was a decent amount of chat about moving him up from 7 to 3 last year, mostly because of his irritating left-handedness and the pretty shapes his bat makes. Now that these pretty shapes actually score runs, direct and fair comparison between our batting performances looks to become a terrifying reality. Is the only way to remain the alpha to constantly sledge him? For example, after the first ball of his spell, I enjoy announcing what a good slower ball that was. He has yet to score a 50 - should I focus on this, and then more and more niche stats until nothing I say on the field or in the pavilion carries any weight, and I become an old man reminding everyone about summer ’17 while my upstart brother gives England the 3 we’ve been searching for since Herodotus rightly declared that might is right? Should I enjoy batting with my little brother, or try and run him out without facing? Most importantly, will my dad ever look me in the eye again? Any ideas boys, or just some words of comfort for me and other cucked siblings in our darkest hour? Cheers. Ben

#AskTGC: new Zealand will have 2 games against England prior to the WTC finals, and Indian players would be off to England after smashing sixes on flat tracks (they'll almost forget to stay on the crease for long durations after a long ipl). Cricket is a lot more competitive now. Wake up from the nostalgia and loosen up a little.

Guys love the podcast. I am indian living in sydney and have so many fan stories to share on how much pain and extent we go to be in stadiums. It would be great if i can share some insights about indian cricket
Finally we watched 5 days test match in Ahmadabad 😁
This is my favourite program on TH-cam, we’ll always support new deserving talents, looking forward to more😎🙌
True to the words, you guys don't give a fuck about T20 cricket. Massive respect 🙌

#ipl coverage by the #boyyyssss......💯💥
As an Indian who lived in the UK, USA and Canada, I have heard many native speakers of the english language. But for the way you guys talk, you truly are legends. I am sure history will judge you so too.
Ian, Sam thanks for the podcast for this amazing series😉🙌🏻
Interesting fact: Washington scored highest runs and took maximum wickets in TNPL (State IPL) tournament 2019. Thats when India looked at him with one eye.
So glad to hear you guys will cover the IPL too! Really looking forward to that hilarious content
Apart from that Ahmedabad test where no one made runs, Washi has crossed fifty in every test he has played.
ICC should hire both of you for after match reviews. You guys are way better than those who just bore us all the time in the pre match and post match.
Cheers.
Ben
This is the gold standard of cricket podcast. Have absolutely enjoyed watching - an insightful match analysis presented with an abundance of sarcastic humor and banter. Love Love your show, it’s a delight.
You podcast has been my favourite cricket talk on this series 👌 loving the banter and sarcasm and bit of cricket 🤣 #goodcall
Crazy the likes of Washington, Vihari and Agarwal would be first choices on so many other teams. So much depth in Indian side
#asktgc BOYZZ!!! Is it time to award Test accreditation to the Inda A side?
Current Squad - Rohit, Gill, Pujara, Kholi, Rahane, Pant, Ashwin, Washington, Axar, Ishant, and Siraj
India A Squad - Shaw, Mayank, Vihari, KL Rahul, Iyer, Saha, Hardik, Jadega, Kuldeep, Shami, Bhumrah
Coats that didn't make any squad - Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Nadeem, Shradul Thakur, Saini, Natrajan and many more!!
Does any of the Asian century deniers need any more evidence than the fact that the majority of these coats would walk straight into any playing X1
Thanks for covering the series; great to be with you guys 🙏
#AskTGC Boys! It will be night here in Canada during your live stream so here's my question - What should be India's squad combination for WTC Final at Lord's as per you? Kiwis are gonna give a tough fight in seaming swinging conditions!
You're epic guys, we love how you put the stats, how you put the players photo hanging in your frame. I mean literally everything from troll to gulping the play.

Absolutely loved this commentary. You talk about Indian cricket, Indian cricket community will give you love back 🥰💞
#AskTGC: new Zealand will have 2 games against England prior to the WTC finals, and Indian players would be off to England after smashing sixes on flat tracks (they'll almost forget to stay on the crease for long durations after a long ipl). Will that make new Zealand favourites to topple india on a green Lord's turf!😕😕😕
Absolutely. WTC right after IPL is a bad timing.
they are the favourites in swinging conditions
You guys are great at humorously wrapping up a day of test cricket without writing off the actuality..

Brilliant videos throughout the series guys. As an Indian living in England, it doesn't get any better than this!

To put it in Club terms;
- So who’s available for selection next week?
- A good toss to lose, I reckon.
- looks like they strengthened last years team a bit with that player
- £1 fine for Jonny getting a duck, and jug avoidance fine for Lawro for getting out for 46.

Hey guys, just discovered you during this IndVEng series and i absolutely love the way you "review" the days play. Really excited to see your videos on the IPL.
Il be waiting with a carrot cake for the live for tomorrow!!!!
#AskTGC India is in so prime time that not just the current Indian team looking unbeatable but the boomers who are retired are hitting out of the park. Virendra Sehwag scored 80 not out in just 35 balls along with Sachin won by 10 wickets in just 10 overs ( road safety trophy 2021 ) against Bangladesh legends. As an Asian having a soft corner towards all nations in sports my advice just to give all the upcoming trophies of 15 years and save the utter humiliation. thoughts?

What a crying fucking shame! It’s a pity the last test didn’t go all the way to five days. We’ve been deprived of two episodes with these guys because of it. ❤️ you Bois!!
Out of context but do you guys know Virat Kohli is so obsessed with Ben Stokes that whenever he's pumped up he says his name out loud BENSTOKES! *insert angry face*
For the green top at the Lords: Ishant, Bhuvaneshwar, Bhumrah, Umesh, Siraj means that there are bowlers that can dish out swing, seam and bounce.

Hey lads, the best thing about this series wasn't the thrashing we gave England .. but that myself and my brother discovered your channel! Hilarious legends with incredible knowledge of the game. Couple of questions:
1) What are the chances that you guys will do a review after every India game in the future? Including t20s and ODIs. The pros for us is that we get to watch you guys reviewing every India game: and the pros for you guys is the amount of viewers and subscribers you are getting now from covering India games.
2) When are you next in England? Would love to see you guys do a show here. Also buy you some fine Fosters pints 😅
