*@Jim Kason* You guys were *terrific!!* Btw, there's another episode from this week where Barbara Feldon said you stopped her outside the studio, and gave her a rose after she won you the $10,000... Is that true? 🙂🙂🙂

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Pyramid Game Show Franchise. It was today when the very first episode of The $10,000 Pyramid Premiered Half a Century ago, also the pilot episode of The Young and the Restless aired on the exact same day on the exact same network, CBS.

The "things that break" part was shown on the game show part of "CBS at 50 Television City" with Bob Barker.

Hand gestures were technically permitted on the Winner’s Circle in the show’s original run on CBS from 1973 to 1974 but contestants were warned about not using them prior to the start of the round. The restriction banning the use of hand gestures in the bonus round became codified when the show moved to ABC.

John Shuck back in the days was a scrawny guy! But his voice was still so epic!

Amazed on the first subject in the second round, Dick clearly told John and his partner the subject was to describe "things that give instructions" and when John described Stewardess, the player said "coffee, tea or milk". You would think someone her age would know that neither coffee, tea or milk give instructions. She must have been nervous.

Everyone is told how to play before taping, they even practiced on some shows. It's just when you're on stage, the audience and "being on TV" feeling get to you.
