    Idk if you noticed, but another fun fact about this song is that mirabels part where she goes "you just seemed like your life's been a dream since the moment you opened your eyes" has the same melody as Isabela's part in We Don't Talk About Bruno. There's a couple of times they do stuff like this in the soundtrack and it's very neat musically and thematically/symbolically for the plot/relationships.

    Compare her singing voice from "we don't talk about bruno" as the typical disney princess voice (high pitched, soft, etc.), and then this where she's being her true self and letting out her true voice.

    It's interesting to note that the melody at 3:12 is from Isabella's verse in "We Don't Talk About Bruno". A lot of leitmotifs are reused throughout the movie, such as "Dos Oruguitas" appearing in Abuela's verse of "The Family Madrigal". Plus "All Of You" is basically a big melting pot for all these melodies.

      It’s so amazing how Lin’s musical skills came into play with this! For on-stage musicals, this is always the case where songs melodies reused to tie the story in together- if ever you guys are into it, you can check out what he did with Non-Stop (Hamilton) which is what I think is the most similar to what he did with We Don’t Talk About Bruno! :)

    might I add, I love the little detail of Isabella's vocalizations (the 'woooaah' s) when Mirabel is singing. It alludes to 'woe' (sorrow or distress) over the acted out perfect image she wants to break free off while Mirabel is singing about how she had only ever viewed Isabella as the perfect flower sprouting beauty.... then that background vocalization stops as soon as Mirabel becomes encouraging and mentions how great it is to see Isabella go beyond those constraints.

    At first it bothered me how Mirabelle's voice is almost overshadowed by Isabella's in the start of the song but now I realise that it was a purposeful choice and symbolises how Mirabelle feels so overshadowed by her sister but by the halfway point Mirabelle is matching her sister showing how she finally feels equal to her.

    "I owe this song to you!" Is my favorite part, its so genetic and adorable. Isabela and Mirabel always disliked each other and getting to know each other was the best part of their sisterhood. So when she said that and hugged her, they were automatically my favorite sisters ever within Disney history.

    • @TheLastSane1
      @TheLastSane1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah Luisa and Mirabel are adorable together. Luisa's whole song shows her being under pressure but also throughout she is keeping her baby sister safe and even stops to fix her glasses. The Madrigal sisters are adorable. All three are so fun together. I really relate to Isabela and Luisa both have struggled and been under incredible stress their whole lives but both protect their sister because they love her. Isabela might be frustrated but she still pulls her up to stand with her during the song, she can see that mirabel was the cause of her seeing how she didn't need to restrict herself.

    What i like about your videos is that you give the comentary and analysis during the reaction. A lot of reaction channels will watch the video without saying a lot and then talk about it afterwards. I always get bored watching them just talk about the video, but you're really easy to watch since you react and talk at the same time which keeps it interesting and doesn't drag it out.

    For this song, Lin Marulanda was inspired by the "rock en español" movement in the 90s in Colombia. The rhythmic pattern reminds me of Ekymosis in songs like La Tierra, which incorporated a more tropical sound using rhythms like the "champeta". There are also parts that remind me of Shakira's beginnings, in songs like "Ciega, Sordomuda"

    2:30 anyone else think there's an animation mistake here? When the first batch of sundew comes out, it's synced with Isabela's motion, but the second batch (while she's pulling up Mirabel) appears a second before she does the gesture...

    I think my favorite part is when Isabella realizes what she’s capable of and loves from “princess” voice to her real chest voice.

    two of the best lines in the entire film "i grow rows and rows of roses, flor de mayo by the mile" "i want to feel the shiver of something new. i'm so sick of pretty; i want something true. don't you?"

    I think the key drop in the final chorus is symbolic of Isabela and Mirabel finding common ground, Mirabel has had Isa up on a pedestal and when the key drops their voices blend in a more mezzo area as they come together emotionally as well

    She was originally supposed to be punk styled in her appearance so it’s cool how it still shines through the music

    My second time watching your Encanto reacts. Before you said a word I just hit that subscribe button. And we don’t talk about Bruno Beas the first video I watched.

    3:11 to 3:32. He told me that the life, of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine.. he told me that the power would grow like the grapes that thrine on the vine..

    Great video! Just one note I had: the key actually didn't go down, it went up a semitone - but I still understand your point how the song was building up and then went back to lower notes again 😊
