Looks fun. I see grief builds being used a bit. Like vuln, poison spammers, and being heavy team fight I can also see confusion/torment builds also being fun. Hope it ends up in ranked rotation!!
They said it would be in a different spot to queue than traditional Conquest/Ranked. Still I'm happy they're showing it to us this early. Balance is always in flux & builds that become demonstrably better for this may not even exist by the time this mode exists. But I think the fact that they're just trying stuff before they invest mad $$$ into it has promise. 😄
Very smart of anet to try and early access new modes specially for trying to create more evergreen modes (i would imagine maybe even stronghold could have been better and more fun if they had done something similar to this while developing it). I would still really love to see them make 3v3 a static mode option as i personally prefer it over conquest (conquest i would also like to see a map with more than 3 capture points maybe something like 5 capture points where rotations and mobility is more emphasised than the regular 3 capture point conquest maps. Would really love to see them embrace a 1v1 first to 9 kills type of duel arena maybe although i recognize this is unlikely to be embraced sadly despite it seems like it would be much work if it just reused 3v3 maps for the 1v1 duels. Edit: if they are only going to have 1 map for this push mode to start would be really cool if that map had 4 seasons so it looks like it does currently for winter, looks like grothmars valleyish for autumn lots of reds and oranges, beach themed for summer and caledon forestish for spring less work than building out more maps and still would make it feel less stale.
Agreed 100%. I've been a HUGE fan of "ArenaNet just trying stuff" for a really long time. And when they try weird stuff it's often interesting if nothing else. -- So (hopefully) this gives them enough time to iterate on the fun' aspects, instead of just polishing up a game mode no one actually wants to play ^^
Tbh it still may turn out that way. I'm hoping that the games being fast/fun enough is enough to catapult more people to to try it more = faster queue's+games = more fun etc. But yeah the development road is still far off so we'll see. :D
I really dont think anything in pvp will change unless they simply limit the amount of builds posible as that is what makes pvp so hard for new players
@@YounesTrainingRespectfully I disagree. What may be "hard" or "confusing" for some is what attracts others even if they suck at it / make bad' builds. Altho I do think if they updated the default builds about halfway through a season to whatever's became meta' that might help ameliorate that somewhat.
I'm weary with them going about this as a way to on board people to conquest than making a unique fun pvp mode for the sake of it. And really disappointed it's still 5vs5. I know for sure I'm going to be vocal in my feedback about that in the beta.
I'm (c)hopeful that it's fun enough that they can do both. Were you looking for something larger like 10v or 15? Maybe on EU, but I wonder if there's even a US PvP pop that could sustain that. 🤔

Anet talked about the game mode getting players comfortable with pvp, but one of the issues is that regardless of the objective in 5vs5 each player is 20% of the teams performance. That puts pressure on individual players to play well and pick meta builds, even in a casual game mode. More players means each individual player is less critical to winning, you can have more build variety, and can double up on roles. Which is great if they want the mode for players to test out builds.

I hate everything about pvp,but i like wvw,this looks more like wvw and i like it...but doubt i play it,its better in wvw i just hate someone organising me what and how to play,i like open world.
this is 100% a downgrade to pvp, the only way it would be close to decent is making it 3v3. this is basically ARAM from LoL, so making it ranked is a mistake

Id like pvp battles with mounts and new moves set. Or a pvp mode as Mobas
They tried the moba' thing with stronghold. Problem was it was all developed internally. At least this way hopefully they can save more of the good ^^

(Eventually) Likely a checkbox similar to how you can "select/deselect" stronghold. But we'll see! ^^

The Bulldozer really fucked up the sPVP mode beyond belief I think all 3 of them should be fired on the spot.
at least they did a wayyys better Job than the Balance Team before.... witch was basicly the PvE Balance Team xD
