I don't know why, but i love Black Pink. My favrorite track by them, is actually a cover. Muiguel's song "Sure Thing". They change the tone, add lyrics, basically they do everything anyone should do when covering a song.
blackpink does use a backtrack but they always sing live over it, which is something not a lot of kpop groups do. their company yg entertainment may be bad at a lot of things but if there’s one thing they’re gonna do is make their artists sing live
Every member has solo songs and mvs. Except for jisoo, but she does a beautiful cover of clarity at concerts that you can find on TH-cam. But if you want to see how they do with songs you recognize, you should check out Blackpink's cover of Miguel's Sure Thing. Rose (blondie) has 2 great songs (Gone, On The Ground, think Taylor Swift, indie music guitar playing singer songwriter from Australia) and numerous covers that have been praised by the original artists (Viva La Vida, Read My Mind, Only Exception, Slow Dancing in a Burning Room).
Great reaction! Please check out Blackpink’s cover of the song “Sure Thing” on SBS Party People. Since you are focusing primarily on vocals, Sure Thing really showcased their vocals in a way that most of their own songs don’t (acoustic setting, lots of harmonies).
I really liked your video, and in depth explanations. This performance was from 2019 World Tour (In Your Area) on 4 December 2019, so was in Japanese, so not any of the girls’ native language. They always sing in Japanese (and mostly rap in English) on their Japanese versions, and I find their vocals just as good as the Korean versions, if not better in some instances. Even more impressive is their ability to maintain the same cadence and rhythm despite the different number of syllables in certain instances. I have both versions of all their songs in my playlist. - A good live Korean version of 'Don't Know What to Do' is from their '2019 Private Stage (Chapter 1)' on 21 September 2019: th-cam.com/video/v042ZtmZumc/w-d-xo.html - I also suggest you react to their cover of Miguel's 'Sure Thing' live on 12 August 2017 (barely a year after debuting): th-cam.com/video/_7TMluHVx4Y/w-d-xo.html - And, for comparison, 'Love to Hate Me' & 'You Never Know' from their most recent live performance - the live-streamed 'The Show' on 31 January 2021: th-cam.com/video/xRlSx46F94c/w-d-xo.html And, I agree with Lalit Pradhan: the acoustic version of 'Whistle' (their debut song) from Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on 26 August 2018 is great too: th-cam.com/video/V31FQJCwLCs/w-d-xo.html As far as vocals go, Rosé ("blonde girl") literally gives me goosebumps whenever I hear her. I simply cannot get enough of her voice. Not sure if react-able, but 4 clips of her singing that I love: 1: her appearance on the Korean version of Masked Singer on 26 March 2017, 7 months after debut: th-cam.com/video/YBPEPVoEfKc/w-d-xo.html 2: her solo stage from the Melbourne (her hometown, which might explain the twang) leg of their 2019 World Tour on 13 June 2019: th-cam.com/video/j_RhG5M4krI/w-d-xo.html 3: In June 2021 she appeared on several episodes of the Korean reality show 'Sea of Hope'; her live performances are stunning: th-cam.com/video/e2-hyMc3l-E/w-d-xo.html 4: her acoustic sunset cover of Cautious Clay's 'Wildfire' from 29 December 2021: th-cam.com/video/deHE9o4L8oo/w-d-xo.html
Love the reaction! Sure Thing Miguel cover by BlackPink has one of their best harmonies as a group where you can really hear their raw vocals and singing. Also you killed me when you said “..cause im a big scottish.. man” 😂
@@Orgil0122 None of the "main", "lead" and "sub" rankings exist. It's made up by fans. That's why you never can read anything about those fake "rankings" on any official YG website. That's why in all the photobooks, cards, albums, and other information about the group officially published by their company, you can never find any confirmation or acknowledgement of any "main", "lead" and "sub" rankings. Literally, the only people who obsess about those rankings are some fans, who think they have to give the "official" list of rankings to everyone who is new to Blackpink (even though there is nothing official about the list at all). The only thing that people can point to as sort of looking official is the Melon profile pages, which have for years been full of mistakes and Melon does not even claim that the information from YG) and the Kpop Profile site, which acknowledges that it just copied Melon and has not received any information from YG.
When you said at first listen that tiara girl (Jennie) has this sassy voice, I know I’m in for a treat. When you said that the girl with the fringe (Lisa) has this voice like she’s speaking to you-you nailed it. She has a lot parts in their songs that she delivers lines that way. When you said long-haired girl (Jisoo) have a medium to high tone, her tone is actually different to decipher. It’s a unique voice in kpop. High and a bit dark-not a usual bright and poppy. And when you said blonde girl (Rosé) has a twang, yes because she’s born in NZ and grew up in Australia (though she’s ethnically Korean). To think that all of them are singing in Japanese, which is not their native language as well-Jennie’s 3rd language; Lisa’s 4th language: Jisoo’s 2nd language: Rosé’s 3rd language. Enjoyed this so much. More Blackpink please! And you say them equally-Blackpink, like one word. Their concept is a duality of the black and the pink, so there’s no emphasis on either word/color 🙂
I recommend Blackpink- Sure Thing cover. It was somewhat in their earlier careers and I believe that it shows their different singing styles and skill really well. It's also completely live :))
Sam keep in mind this is a South Korean group but since they're performing at the Tokyo Dome they're singing in Japanese, a second language for each member. So they sing in Korean, English, Japanese, and often blend the languages together in songs. More Blackpink, please react to thier mv PLAYING WITH FIRE.
These ladies started their world tour in 1999,just three years after their debut. They performed to nothing less than sold out crowds at every venue. They were also the first female kpop group to perform at Coachella just before they kicked off their world tour.
The conclusion i got from mr.Sam: clearly tell and explain about the 3 others voice (tiara, long hair and french) in firm but really complex when it's blonde girl cause her vocal tone and voice is so unique.
good reaction you should hear them sing "stay" and whistle live. Or it would also be better if you reacted to the main vocalist who is Rosé rlla has covers in "Sea of hope" a program and it would be good if you reacted to those covers
This is their Japanese version of these songs but the original songs are in Korean I wished you reacted to that but thank you so much for reacting hoping for more Blackpink reactions btw I would suggest you react to their live cover of Sure Thing by Miguel they did very well you'll not be disappointed 🥰

Thanks for this reaction, I always love seeing people discovering these four young talented women especially when they are coming back with new music soon. Can not wait for more blackpink reactions. (I am really sorry for the length of this monstrous comment...some of it could have been helped but some of it could not be helped. Sorry) First thing...these songs were originally written in Korean with some English thrown in. Here, they were obviously sung mostly in Japanese, which the girls were not yet very proficient in. Their Korean accents in the Japanese language already make these songs not sound as awesome as their original but I think the girls did reasonably well, ESPECIALLY considering the difference between Live and Studio. I luv all four of these fantastic ladies, I could not possibly choose between them. The first rapper (rapping in Japanese, the one with the high squeals at the end of each phrase at the beginning) is South Korea's Jennie Kim. If the group had a 'boss' or Group Leader position, I think it would likely be Jennie in that position. She studied abroad while still a kid and she spent five years in New Zealand before getting into YG Entertainment. She ALMOST started High School in the United States but went to South Korea instead. She is the Main Rapper and Lead Vocalist; she's actually awesome all the way around, if you don't count her injuries against her. She used to dance with the best of them but has suffered several ankle sprains (among other health problems) so she does not dance anywhere near like she was able to. She's not even that old but I am sure I don't have to tell you about how ankle sprains can affect anybody. Jenny happens to be the shortest member of the group. The second rapper ('fringe girl', rapping in English) is Thailand's Lalisa Manoban (shortened to Lisa), who is the youngest member of the group (the maknae). She is their Main Dancer and Lead Rapper. When she was twelve years old, she won a competition of four thousand people in Thailand in order to get into YG Entertainment's training program; she beat EVERYBODY else in the competition and there was only one spot that all four thousand hopefuls were competing for. She entered South Korea at the age of fourteen and when she arrived, she arrived ALONE and only knew just a few words of the Korean language. She worked her ass off in multiple ways to get where she is today and she still catches the most hate of any of the group's members (at least from Koreans, as a matter of racism because she is no part Korean at all). Next is South Korea's Kim Jisoo (as far as I know, no relation to Jennie; in Korea, the surname Kim is as prevalent as something like Smith or Jones in the United States). Jisoo is the oldest member and she is an actress as well as a singer and dancer. She's also likely the most funny member. A sweetheart all the way around, the 'mom' figure of the group and I would say the base, the rock the rest depend on, the spine, the muscle. She is really a tough human being. So of course the fourth (blonde) girl to be mentioned (but CERTAINLY not the least) is Rosanne Park, also called Rose' (/rozay/). Her Korean name is Park Chaeyoung (which could possibly be confusing to some people because there is also a Park Chaeyoung in another South Korean Girl Group called Twice; likely why she goes by Rose'). Rose' was born in New Zealand to Korean parents but grew up in Australia; she counts herself as being Australian. She is the group's Main Vocalist (some say the best vocalist in the group AND the best in South Korea). This girl is MADE OF MUSIC; she writes lyrics, writes music, composes, arranges and plays piano and guitar at the least. She happens to be the tallest of the girls in the group.
Omg hi Sam BTS just released Proof Live, a performance with three songs from their new album and featuring Anderson Paak from Silk Sonic. I'm sure you will love it! 😍
Blackpink uses backing tracks but a) they never lip-sync and b) do in fact sing most of the lyrics live. Their live vocals are more apparent in other live stages e.g, Coachella. This particular performance was more highly produced than most others. BTW, as to how to pronounce Blackpink, the emphasis is on the pink but only slightly. In many of their tracks they say 'Blackpink' so you can hear it directly from their mouths.
Please check out their song The Happiest Girl, there's no live version but there is a lyric video so you know who is singing what. I love Lisa's (fringe girl) vocals so much. They are definitely underrated.
Love the reaction. Not enough people react to this live version of dkwtd (my favorite bp song). Would love to see you react to red velvet who is my favorite kpop group and arguably the best vocal girl group in kpop!
I miss your EXO reactions 😭 I hope you react to them again. Try reacting to their ballads like "Don't go" or "Angel" they performed it on their concert. 😁
Jisoo always win this song for me with that smooth soft airy chorus note WHILE dancing at the same time. Like try all that dancing, waving at fast pace and still able to burst out that kind of smooth soft melody, not word people, just melody. No wonder she does most of their harmonization. She’s super stable. Her vocal control is crazy. 90% of her lives always sounds exactly like in record. She sings live and you can tell but hardly hear that hard breathing compare to the other members which is insane to me. Many of their concerts prove that. Even more so with backtrack cause it’ll stand out if you’re out of tune and they sing song after song without much of break in between. I don’t understand why people be hating and say she isn’t as talented to be in BP. She enjoy performing but she doesn’t want the spotlight so she let her member do what they want so it does come off as she doesn’t showcase much of herself (it was in a magazine interview) which i think Jisoo is like a glue in BP. No ego. Just calmly and steadily like water keep running holding the group together cause if they’re all strong character and all want the killing part there would be no BP like today. Their group is so cohesive. And even greater that it’s only 4 members versus other groups with a bunch of girl and each sing like 1,2 lines. Jisoo is like a sleeping lion mama but when she goes queen mode I’ll be wreck. Clarity, Yuki no Hana, Flower. Might seems easy to some but hard to do to give the same vibe as her. As soon as her voice comes in, i know it’s Jisoo. Her vocal tone is super unique in kpop. Came for Jenie and Lisa but after awhile of getting to know them and their music I stay because of Jisoo and Rose. They are like the perfect girl group combo. ❤

Then check out “Ice Cream” ft Selena Gomez, “Whistle”, “Love Sick Girls”, “Pretty Savage”, “Playing With Fire”, and “Stay.”

I don't know why, but i love Black Pink. My favrorite track by them, is actually a cover. Muiguel's song "Sure Thing". They change the tone, add lyrics, basically they do everything anyone should do when covering a song.
Nice reaction! Please do next *BLACKPINK live performance "SURE THING" - MIGUEL (COVER) @ SBS PARTY PEOPLE Show*
wowwww SURE THING SO AMAZINGGGGGGG
Jisoo's husky voice doesn't get enough appreciation.
Blackpink sure thing cover
Rose sea of hope
blackpink does use a backtrack but they always sing live over it, which is something not a lot of kpop groups do. their company yg entertainment may be bad at a lot of things but if there’s one thing they’re gonna do is make their artists sing live
I feel like Jennie's voice has too much potential.
it’s does she sings a lot but barely raps
@@lol_1016 that's because if she chose to rap on lisa's songs she would have very few lines, since lisa's vocal well let's say it's not good
i feel like she needs to do more rapping
Same i like jennie vocal
@@lulan-oh6tu this makes not sense
Great reaction! Please check out Blackpink’s cover of the song “Sure Thing” on SBS Party People. Since you are focusing primarily on vocals, Sure Thing really showcased their vocals in a way that most of their own songs don’t (acoustic setting, lots of harmonies).
As a vocal coach, you might like their live and non-track-backed cover of the Miguel single "Sure Thing."
^ agreed!
Jennie the ACE
I really liked your video, and in depth explanations.
This performance was from 2019 World Tour (In Your Area) on 4 December 2019, so was in Japanese, so not any of the girls’ native language. They always sing in Japanese (and mostly rap in English) on their Japanese versions, and I find their vocals just as good as the Korean versions, if not better in some instances. Even more impressive is their ability to maintain the same cadence and rhythm despite the different number of syllables in certain instances. I have both versions of all their songs in my playlist.
- A good live Korean version of 'Don't Know What to Do' is from their '2019 Private Stage (Chapter 1)' on 21 September 2019: th-cam.com/video/v042ZtmZumc/w-d-xo.html
- I also suggest you react to their cover of Miguel's 'Sure Thing' live on 12 August 2017 (barely a year after debuting): th-cam.com/video/_7TMluHVx4Y/w-d-xo.html
- And, for comparison, 'Love to Hate Me' & 'You Never Know' from their most recent live performance - the live-streamed 'The Show' on 31 January 2021: th-cam.com/video/xRlSx46F94c/w-d-xo.html
And, I agree with Lalit Pradhan: the acoustic version of 'Whistle' (their debut song) from Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on 26 August 2018 is great too: th-cam.com/video/V31FQJCwLCs/w-d-xo.html
As far as vocals go, Rosé ("blonde girl") literally gives me goosebumps whenever I hear her. I simply cannot get enough of her voice. Not sure if react-able, but 4 clips of her singing that I love:
1: her appearance on the Korean version of Masked Singer on 26 March 2017, 7 months after debut: th-cam.com/video/YBPEPVoEfKc/w-d-xo.html
2: her solo stage from the Melbourne (her hometown, which might explain the twang) leg of their 2019 World Tour on 13 June 2019: th-cam.com/video/j_RhG5M4krI/w-d-xo.html
3: In June 2021 she appeared on several episodes of the Korean reality show 'Sea of Hope'; her live performances are stunning: th-cam.com/video/e2-hyMc3l-E/w-d-xo.html
4: her acoustic sunset cover of Cautious Clay's 'Wildfire' from 29 December 2021: th-cam.com/video/deHE9o4L8oo/w-d-xo.html
Love the reaction! Sure Thing Miguel cover by BlackPink has one of their best harmonies as a group where you can really hear their raw vocals and singing.
Also you killed me when you said “..cause im a big scottish.. man” 😂
^^ this please!!
Tiara girl=Jennie(main rapper,lead vocal)

Lisa also a vocalist ❤️
@@sounapk913
Yes, a sub- vocal and yes ,she can sing !!!
such a thing as sub vocalist doesn't exist
@@sounapk913 sub
Can you react to Rosé (blonde girl) singing in the program Sea Of Hope? You can find her covers here on TH-cam
UP!
Jisoo - yuki no hana cover ver (japanese song), clarity cover ver
Jennie - solo
Rosè - on the ground and gone
Lisa - lalisa and money
I like black pink. But I prefer 'boombayah' or 'how u like that' 😉
This is awesome! Love your singing in the end! Thank for reacting to BP
Blonde girl voice is so good 🔥
This is their Japanese version of these songs but the original songs are in Korean I wished you reacted to that but thank you so much for reacting hoping for more Blackpink reactions btw I would suggest you react to their live cover of Sure Thing by Miguel they did very well you'll not be disappointed 🥰

Awesome reaction! It's one of the most technical breakdowns I've heard. Blackpink also did some incredible vocals on the song "Happiest Girl".
Love hearing analysis from a professional! Thank you for reacting Sam :) Highly, highly recommend checking out their cover of Sure Thing for amazing live harmony and back and forth
It’d be cool to see a reaction to the ddu-du-ddu-du coachella performance ! You can hear them more in that stage. This is a video from a concert film, so I feel like the management makes the layering louder in post/editing
Jennie perfecttt❤
Thanks for this reaction, I always love seeing people discovering these four young talented women especially when they are coming back with new music soon. Can not wait for more blackpink reactions. (Also if you want to discover each one of them I recommend to you their Netflix documentary called Light Up The Sky)
Please react to 'sure thing' cover!! They sing there without the back track
Also thank you for the great reaction!!

Really liked this reaction!
Check on their live online concert! The show. Love to hate me, you never know. Its so increadible
Loved your breakdown honestly
Lisa ❤️
Omg hi Sam BTS just released Proof Live, a performance with three songs from their new album and featuring Anderson Paak from Silk Sonic. I'm sure you will love it! 😍
I love Jennie. She is amazing
Amazing ?????? Watch
She is lypsing in dnwtd
i love how you reacted, thank you!
More of blackpink please. My suggestions are stay, you never know, eyes closed Rosé cover and more but yeah
jennie best
Lisa❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
LOVE THISS - please do more!!!
More BlackPink live and MV reactions please! They’re the GOAT girl group!

Please check out their song The Happiest Girl, there's no live version but there is a lyric video so you know who is singing what.
I love Lisa's (fringe girl) vocals so much. They are definitely underrated.
BLACKPINK HAPPIEST GIRL PLEASE, MORE BALLAD
I recommend reacting to sure thing, a cover where their voices ar really apparent and their encores
FYI that isn't a background track they have backup singers and a live band.
You should react to sure thing cover and love to hate me+ you never know the show performance show more about their vocals
Subscribed , love black pink and this reaction lmao especially the ending 😂
Love the reaction. Not enough people react to this live version of dkwtd (my favorite bp song). Would love to see you react to red velvet who is my favorite kpop group and arguably the best vocal girl group in kpop!

Please react to their tokyo dome performance "kiss and make up , really" thank you 💕 i love your reaction its informative
Love your Reactions thank you so much
Reaction to blackpink love to hate me + you never know the show!! PLEEEEASE
Why, you ARE right, they did invent the colours black and pink!
I miss your EXO reactions 😭 I hope you react to them again. Try reacting to their ballads like "Don't go" or "Angel" they performed it on their concert. 😁
Hi! Thank you for reacting to Blackpink! If you want, you can also react to Kim Sejeong. She's known for her beautiful, pure and clear voiceeee!
Jennie 👑😍💖
You should definitely react to jissoo (long haired girl) singing a cover of Clarity
React to blackpink love to hate me + you never know performance from the show pls!!! its 100% live with a band, there's no back track so u can hear their voices better
Fun fact: they are singing in Japanese which is not their mother language, its like their 3rd or 4th language
Blackpink sure thing cover, blackpink ddu ddu Coachella performance.
It’s different to their original songs. They sound different, too. Are they singing in Japanese instead of Korean?
Yes, it's the Tokyo Dome, so it's the Japanese version.
