I'm finally going to paint my old IKEA rug after watching this about 50 times over the last year. I have insomnia so I always feel like you keep me company. Thank you ☺️
Why do you not have like a million subs? Why am I just finding you? I'm about to be 45 myself. I've been wanting to get crafting and painting again. You have inspired me lady!!
Yeahhhhhhh! I know you've experienced some.... rough times but you are still going strong and creating amazing work. Love the design and bright colors. So cheerful, so you.
I only found you because i woke up in the middle of the night heart burn so I’ve been sipping Apple cider vinegar, but I want to paint a rug that someone just gave me. I think you rug looks beautiful! I will look into that paint but I definitely will not do that pattern. Way too tedious and I have company coming on Thursday. That looks like a very tight weave and I have a softer type. How long does it take to dry? DIY paint where do I buy it?? how expensive is it? There is a cool flower pattern but I just want to white wash it . I still have heartburn, had a turkey burger with green peppers and onions last night. I don’t know Dr. Berg recommended on TH-cam Apple Cider vinegar. I might try baking soda in a few minutes. I’m living a place DIY which I’ve been doing for 50 years. I’ve always done that kind of stuff!
I'm so glad found you!💜 I've been binge watching for a cpl of weeks now and I'm hooked. Your stories are so heartfelt and relatable and you are an inspiration! You're so silly and funny and you make me happy!🤗 I think you are incredibly brilliant that you're bubbling over with creativity! Please never ever stop posting. I've always wanted to diy my own rug, tysm for this, it came out beautiful! 😉👌
As I was vacuuming my old brown rug in the entry this morning, I was thinking... I should paint this thing! I was so excited when I as able to sit down at the pc and SAW YOUR VIDEO! Yay! I truly love this idea! It's because of you my living room couch is ORANGE... I'll have to send you photo of my couch, when it's finished. ;) Love how your rug turned out and it goes wonderfully well with the couch!
I love your rug.... Beautiful Let me give you another thought about painting rugs.... Remember about Floorcloths??? Take a Painter's Drop Cloth (8 - 10 oz. Duck fabric) Buy it Harbor Freight or Lowe's etc... it will already be hem' Use exterior house paint or just plain acrylic... it is thicker... sand it then put a couple of coats of Poly on it... BEAUTIFUL... Look up Floorcloths on ETSY...
Love, love, love your carpet. I'm going to attempt to paint an old carpet for my covered veranda this spring and this has given me lots of ideas. Thanks Debi - you're the best.
ive missed ur vids so much! can't wait to listen to the podcast. it was also such a great idea to pair the glass table with the rug, it's classy and helps you focus on the rug as the main piece - it all looks really great
Hi Debi! I really enjoyed the couch and this rug video. You are so funny too - GREAT sense of humor. I would like to suggest that you post good shots of the complete before and after too. Either at the beginning or at the end. That would be a huge impact. As it is I can really only get a little glimpse of the total picture. Thanks for making your videos.
OMG! I love you. I just discovered you today and I am just loving your stuff. I love your style and I am loving the things that I have seen so far...I'm going to use the things that I have learned to diy . I wish I had more time. But thank you so much. You are great. Keep it up!
That looks fantastic! Thanks for showing us this pattern design and how beautiful we can make an everyday rug look! Sending Big Hearts your way, Jan Big Thumbs up!
I agree with you other subscribers you look waaaayyy younger than 45. I figured you were in your early to mid 30s. Anyway cant wait to listen to your podcast after this video. Hope you talk about your life and all that good stuff. Hugs from Wichita, KS!!
Wow it looks beautiful I have a multi color rug but I want to paint it into a beige color and then add black to give it an African mud cloth design. I am going to attempt to film that as well.
I was stressing trying to get everything done in my house, or my previous house, and a friend told me to calm down and stop worrying. She said, "You've got a 30 year mortgage! Slow down!"
I love that rug...makes me want to try. Do you end up using more paint because the rug absorbs it? How much paint do you think you used Debbie? By the way I enjoy your channel .... Especially your stories. Thanks for sharing your life with us.
I adore the Debbie Show! This is amazing and I can see myself doing this in the future. Just wish I. Oils get your paints online. I'll have to drive about 3 hours to find them. WORTH IT!
fabulous DIY! I would seek out a thrift rug or yard sale rug and save the $50, giving it a good shampooing first. I may try this on a smaller rug and see how it goes. Thanks for sharing!! :-)
The rug compliments the couch so well!!! How long did it take to do this? I️ can imagine it took long. I️ also love the water bottle idea to blend in the colors. It married them so well!
Simply Handmade she said a week. She's dedicated! It took me a week on one project- ONCE- I discovered I lose my creative punch on any ONE LONG term project so never Again- I hate that feeling of "I just want to get done and move on!" That's when it's like a job 😝
I know this is an old comment, so my reply may have no relevance anymore 😆 BUT I feel the same way you do! I start getting impatient when I'm on one project for too long, it makes me sloppy, and then I lose inspiration... But, I've learned that if I have 2 or 3 long term projects simultaneously running side by side, and I can freely bounce back and forth between them when I feel inspired to work on whichever particular one, instead of feeling tied down like "I can't move on until this is complete!" that I don't burn out on these larger type of projects and I'm always happy with how they turn out. I know some people might feel disorganized and overwhelmed having so much up in the air at once like that, but as long as there's no deadline to rush me, I feel the variety keeps the work fresh and let's me commit more to longer term projects. Just an idea that could maybe help you out, if you ever want to consider tackling a larger project again 😉
Hi Debi. I've loved your videos since day one! Can you give me any tips on painting indoor chairs to become outdoor/covered lanai chairs. I live in FL.
I love this so much!!!!! I wonder if you could do a ombré/blended kind of look with no stencil? I’m thinking sunset colors. I mightttttttttttttttt give it a try.
If I was going to order a few of DYI paints, wax and big top, could you give me a list of (what you think are) top 10 best colors to begin with please? I look and look and I can’t decide.. 🙃
I'm finally going to paint my old IKEA rug after watching this about 50 times over the last year. I have insomnia so I always feel like you keep me company. Thank you ☺️

I do wish your paints were available in England. 😔
me too Laura, we will have them there at some point, it's a lot of red tape, expense and set up because of all the regulations.
Me too!
yeah we NEED them in England!!!!!
