"I don't think the climate has changed to the point it can cause mass death " not so much for our generation no (though extreme weather events are certainly severely disrupting lives), the science says our children and especially their children will suffer that death tho. But I get that reality is hard to accept if you come strongly capitalist worldview.
I'm skeptical of anyone who claims to be able to predict the future. Doubly so for something as complex as the climate. Triply so for something as consequential as global human extinction. Not saying I can't be convinced, just saying that there hasn't been nearly enough evidence for me to be convinced.
That's far from reality, not only are deaths from extreme weather phenomenon and natural disasters are down 90% from the deaths at the beginning of the 1900s but the frequency of such phenomenon isn't that dramatically different either, what changed is the media and some politicians getting hysterical, blowing such events out of proportions and in some cases straight up lying about it knowing very well vast majority of people wouldn't even bother to verity the information (and in many cases blaming nature for their own incompetence and failures). Tony Heller has several videos on this specific subject where he goes in great details with very strong evidence and data from early 1900s all the way to modern times showing that not much have changed except fossil fuel based technology being able to save more lives from these extreme weather phenomenon (like extreme heat or cold waves).
This channel is the definition of quality over quantity
Thanks man, I appreciate that 😁
