愛車紹介をしてみました。サーブ900ターボS (1993)です。
今までは運転席からの紹介が多かったと思いますが、今回は車を止めて色々なポイントを紹介しております。
SAAB 900を見たことがない方も、これで少しはどのような車なのか分かるかなと思います。

A car lover especially SAAB, based in Japan.
Born in 1991. Have an experience of oversea study in Lund, Sweden for 1 year.
Now I'm working in Investigation firm of the car industry in Tokyo.
In this channel, I will show and share the experiences through movies and binaural sound of SAAB 900 turbo. SAAB brand has been disappeared, however, I can show what it is like to own a SAAB, as long as I maintain well and drive it. That is a one of the missions for me to upload on TH-cam.

I'll miss the SAAB of course, but I'll also miss that mix of the car and your insight into living with it. The crowded streets, the stop-start traffic, people walking by with bags of shopping, the flyovers, and of course...the RAIN!

Considering you've driven it in all kinds of weather, you've done a great job to keep it looking so good, especially in the engine compartment.
It's a shame that you'll be parting with it soon. If I were you, I would sell the Mercedes before I sold the SAAB!

Don't be sorry! 6.5 years is a good amount of time with a car. It can be hard to find characterlful cars that are affordable and in good condition.
I just bought a 2011 Volvo C30, and am enjoying the experience. An Audi TT would be nice to own, one day.

Hi Tom,for the UK models, I think the key differences between the 900 Turbo and 900 Turbo S were the latter had: 1) Red APC ECU, giving 185 BHP and 2) Stiffened suspension compared to the Turbo. I believe the original intent by SAAB was to call the Turbo S the '900 Aero' but 'Aero' was already trademarked by GM and they would not permit the name to be used in certain markets.

Yes, it's same here in Japan! I hope my 900 will be treated well or better than I have done.
手元の資料だと９００ターボが１４５馬力。ターボSが１７５馬力
それにともない足回りを強化しているとのこと。
エンジンが逆向きになっているのはトランスミッションとの関係でそうなってます。
これ５速マニュアルだとよくわかるのですがラジエーターとエンジンブロックとのあいだに
クラッチが突きそこから確か９０度チェーンを使って向きを変えてトランスミッションに接続
される構造となっています。
こうすると何がいいかといえばエンジンを車体から降ろさずにクラッチの交換ができるという
サーブ独自でありおそらく世界唯一の構造しているから。これだクラッチ交換の費用が抑えられるという
よく考えられたモノなんです。
それからこの縦置きのエンジンレイアウトにするとちょうど車体の中央を通る軸線上に配置することができますよね。
よくBMWが前後の重量配分を５０：５０することが運動性の理想的と言われてますが、この縦置きエンジンのレイアウトだと
左右の重量配分を５０：５０にできるからなんです。
ちなみにSAABはFFながら早い段階から前後の重量配分を50：50に近い60：40にしているのも特徴
これは前に少しだけ重量が掛かることによりトラクションが掛かり易くしており
冬場の雪道でも安定して走れるのはこういうところなんです。

イギリスの方がコメントで言われていますが、英国市場向けと若干出力に違いがありそうです。
逆向きがクラッチ交換に有利だった点、初めて知りました。実際に触れる人でないとなかなか実感できないポイントですね。同じスウェーデン生まれでもボルボがFRを作っていたのとは対照的でトラクションに対する考え方が異なっていたのも興味深いところです。
以前所有していて、年配の整備士から同じお話を聞きました!!!またスエーデンでボルボとサーブの街では違った気候らしく、考え方に差が出たと雑誌の特集に書いてありました。ＦＦにしたのもその為みたいです。しかしながらサーブの直進安定性は本当に素晴らしいですね❗️距離を走っていてもハンドルの遊びやふらつきはありませんでした!!!今の国産車では不安定さが出てしまいますが???横置きのサーブも乗りましたが、良く出来ていましたが、縦置きの安定性とは違ってました。スバルのボクサーエンジンが今では近いのかな???

The Turbo S was high pressure Turbo in Europe (maybe Japan too), same as Turbo in USA, and as opposed to the 900 s (low pressure turbo in Europe) and 900 s (2.1 liter non-turbo in USA). I believe. TOM DO NOT SELL THIS CAR! YOU WILL REGRET IT! IT'S A GREAT CAR TO KEEP FOR A LIFETIME! YOU MUST ADMIT THE DECALS ARE TOO MUCH, AND GO BACK TO A STOCK SPG LOOK, and your minimalist Japanese Saab roots. Before you sell it, you should try to redo the back shelf - or get a stock one (I've also recovered them in fabric like that, and it doesn't work vs. stock for selling the car at highest value). And get the stock radio antenna working again, going up/down, that's not too hard to do yourself. Then, if you still want to sell it, fine, sell it - but this is not an easy car to replace with the SPG kit, nice exterior, wreck free. Tom, you must admit it's the decals! not the car! i give you two weeks with a w124 before you go buy a nice original saab for a full refurbishment

こんにちは、個体はミツワ物でしょうか？最終の900turbo売っちゃうんですね、踏み止まった方がいいと思うんですが、まず国内はおろか本国でも2ドアクーペの台数は少ないと思います。
スェーデンのような国では実用として車を乗る考え方なので4ドアかワゴンのようなスタイルになるで現存してる2ドア超希少だと思います、まず日本国内だと見つける事出来ないのではないかと思います、もし売却しちゃうと
国外に流れてしまう可能性もあるので、お金あれば、自分が引き取りたいくらいです。
後余談ですが、なるべく解放型のエアクリーナーはやめた方が良いですよ、
フレッシュエア吸わないのでエアフロの故障と周辺の熱吸ってしまうので、ノッキングの原因にもなります。

OHCじゃなかったでしょうか？
ターンフローベースならDOHC化しても逆転しますね、しかしクラッチが前に付いてる構造といいエンジンを傾斜させる手法といいこだわりには、ロマンを感じる車です。
ターボ！と云う事で、モアパワーとしてのパワフィル装着でしょうけど…
正直、パワフィルには良い事一つも無いですね。
それでパワー出るなら、とっくにメーカーがやっています。
サプリみたいなもんで、それで治るなら医師が薬として出すよって事です。
不調出ますし、熱気吸って、インタークーラーも意味が無くなるほどです。

希少車なので売るのは確かに勿体無いですよね笑。手放すかどうかについての判断は所有者である自分が一番考えているものです。色々考えた結果、今回は潔く手放すつもりです。
初期はOHCですよね。確か85年からDOHCが出てきたのかなと記憶しています。
小さな町のメーカーですが、設計のこだわりは世界のファンを魅了するものがありますよね。

いえ、実はパワーには興味はなくて、別の動画で喋ったことがあるのですが吸気音・タービンの音が好きで聴きたくてやっています。それには多少のネガがあっても楽しみたかったのです。

ベルト類がバルク側ななってるのは、前者の方が書いているクラッチの整備性もありますが、発売当初のOHC版がカウンターフローであった事もありますね、エンジンを傾斜させてるのでカウンターフローのインマニとエキマニ取り回しの関係もあります。
この車を引き継ぐ次の幸せなオーナーさんが羨ましいです、良い方に巡り合えばいいですね。😊
