My hypothesis is that when she gets turned in the beginning she realizes she has more power over people. She lets the girls bully her and picks off guys she doesn't like. In the car when the boy she's been pretending to have a crush on confesses that he actually wants her (and most likely went along with the blonde's scheme because he thinks wolf girl is cute) she decides to spare his life and instead turn him. There are little details everywhere that point to this (the blotted-out pictures of boys on her wall, how excited she is after he asks her out because now she can have her revenge on the bullies, the drawings she leaves for the bullies to find so that they think she likes the guy, etc. Even her hand grabbing at the grass is a hint at just what she wants to do to him-- not have sex with him, but tear him to pieces instead. I LOVE this video and the music.
