We catch up with the Charmley brothers farming in Shropshire. They are currently milking 500 cows on a grass-based system. In this video, we look at their cow type, breeding program and the future of their herd.

Most farmers have just started night milking by 5pm when i was in farming i did a 23hr day followed by 18 hrs at silo time No sleep

It is 2.30am though.

Gotta say the way these lads are doing it is far better, staff don’t want to be doing stupid hours, and quite frankly I’ve no idea why any farmer wants to on the regular still be working any time past 6
