Japanese team really expanded the characters and stories probably too much in the 70s. But man 70s Snufkin got some swag! Stylistically is still my favorite version of Moomin. 90s version was more polished an a lot more moody and atmospheric.
Do you judgmental European guys know that the original author was very mean and didn’t allow them to create by themselves?, look at Moonin parent’s color! she made many small mean judgements many a times to crush us sometimes even ..well I guess at the age every European were racist: And we didn’t have yet for reputation for our cool Japan-contents like Manga etc.

The Japanese anime wars were more high quality and fierce than those in Europe and North America, but it was still always at the top of the list. Unfortunately, it was too good to be separate from the original. The original creator was very afraid of this work. Nowadays, if you show both works to someone who has no knowledge of the Moomins, there is a high probability that they will appreciate this one more. This frightened the author. However, when the author realized the huge royalties that would be generated, he allowed the broadcast only in Japan. This work has a soul. It is definitely not a bad work. It's just that the believers are falling for it.

But why did he keep a secret from moomin and the rest of the valley residents ? Also, why was moran happy? It didn’t make sense to me, Why were they all so excited that he is back? Is there a reason? Because they sounded too happy like he was a hero or something
