  • The Fishing Reel in this Video can handle most any bottom fish imaginable. Find out what it is! This reel is a super smooth Snapper and Grouper SLAYER! You can own one of these Aluminum one piece frame, SUPER high quality reels, made in the USA for around $260.00. At only 18 ounces and packing a ton of drag and holds 500 yards of braided line, It's hard to beat this reel for nearly any type of offshore fishing, or bottom fishing you may encounter and has the smoothest, high quality drag system I have ever used. Check it out in the video.. Fish on!

I just bought an ugly stick 8’ 50-80 for a bottom rod… paired it to a torum with 65lb braid…. Not a bad rod for the price!💪👌

I’ve been looking at a 5’9 bottom fishing rod from diawa. Would you recommend against going that short for a rod, or should I go minimum 6’6

I've Owned Avet mx and sx reels, they have bearing grind and are particularly susceptible to water ingress problems. Shimano talica, and daiwa saltiga are much better for my bottom fishing. Even the penn fathom is superior. You obviously take really good care of your reels. Most people don't.

Joe, yes sir, I agree most ppl don't take them time to rinse, soap wash, dry completely and store correctly. It takes really no time to clean them up properly. They last A LOT longer.

Do you get the normal ones or the g2 or raptor im confused lol I wouldn’t think 14 lbs of drag is enough on the regular one

The normal and G2..Not the raptor. 14 lbs works great for us. Not catching Goliath or anything with that much drag, but most everything else on the bottom is no problem.

Are those the Raptor models or the G2?

There's some G2 models and originals in the mix. I like both. Best reels I've even owned and I've had them for a long time and added G2 models in recent years
