The cost of the damage done to these vehicles would probably have paid for a bridge.
Looks like the Suzuki Jimny following the Mercedes van made it through without any problems!!!!
Or the taxes on the repair bills
The damage was done by the idiot drivers.
@@clooperman3745 Jimnys are tanks
Sprinters don't float then .....
It's a miracle that humanity was able to survive for so long
The cars were invented just some 120 years ago. 😂 Before we used horses
😂😂😂
There is no end to human stupidity
Shouldn't be long now...
Watch this space! We ain't out of the woods yet! Not by a long shot!
Brian’s breakdown Service is the biggest employer in the Rufford area. Their garage is the size of an aircraft hanger😂
The funniest was the bloke smiling smugly, thinking he’d made it, only to splutter to a halt in a cloud of steam.
Without timestamp this comment is kinda pointless.
The ducks quacking after an engine gets destroyed is always entertaining.
Ye, they tell them “what a idiot”😁
I like the quack on the off beat of the duck.
LMAOOOOO
they're laughing!
The water only comes half way up a duck...😁
I like to think all those vans were all driven by the same guy as he bounced between companies as he gets fired for flooding his van 🤣
LOL
How did the one at 1:17 fail?
@@GuinessOriginal Water could've messed with the electronics if the undertrays aren't proper, or maybe his exhaust was blocked at high rpm.
I have to imagine that there are plenty of people who have gotten stuck over there multiple times. Makes one question their lack of common sense … 🤦🏼
To every person who attempted this deep ford crossing - I salute you - it was the right thing to do👏👏👏
I’m genuinely surprised how many people are so keen to cross water where multiple people are filming them. 😂 like does this not make you a little concerned about the move you’re about to attempt?
Well its not that so much rather seemingly none of them bother to check the water gauge and then make a decision.
Also a good location for a recovery team
I love the look on some of their face's, it's like "look see we got through" Oh shit !!
Or the ones who try and cross while the last person is literally being hauled onto the back of a tow truck at the other end
Even when they drive past multiple broken down cars and even see a car stuck in the water they still go in. They really are stupid.
My take away from this....NEVER buy a USED car from that area.....😂😂
Why I bet most of them have new engines be a good buy
@@scaife5668 Nah, Insurers would presumably tell them where to get off. Bodger garage will get them running a bit rough and sell them on with bent valves. Poor bugger that buys them will be left will a pile of junk.
@@scaife5668 You pay later for the new Control Units
I was thinking that as well but I guess nearly all of theses cars are right offs as it puts them beyond worth repair as they all would need a complete rebuild engine or new
@@scaife5668 yes only thing is that water gets into everything and slowly will destroy what is left of the car regardless a new engine 👍
The ducks will always have the last quack 🦆🦆
superior engineering
I was never explicitly told this by anyone, but my rule is: if I see a duck happily swimming across the road, then I don't proceed. This rule has never failed me.
hahaha
That will work until the day the duck has a day off
I can't get enough of it. It's also nice to see that some people still drive in with their cars even when there's already another dead vehicle there.
Those Sprinters really don't like getting wet do they 🤣
Low air intakes?
They don't like any weight either! All the vans getting overweight infringements on the Police and DVSA FB pages always seem to be sprinters!
@@alastairward2774 intake is behind the top left of the front grille. If the entire grille is under water, bad news lol
@@alastairward2774 I don't think they're especilly low but maybe high driving position with sloped bonnet makes people think it's a lot higher than it is. It's basically at the top of the wheel arch height as far as I know.
Any engine taking on water through the air box doesn’t like it not just Mercedes
The level of thick with these drivers is unparalleled 🚘🌊
Some of the punters on the bridge don't sound much brighter. 😄
To be honest, before I read some of the better comments under previous Rufford Ford vids, I wouldn't have known how to cross a ford, either.
I now understand it's best to cross slowly and make as little waves as possibly - before, I also might have tried to build up momentum...kind of a natural reaction.
Driving instructors don't teach you that, either.
So it's rather "clueless" than "thick"...
@@notroll1279 Think ya just outed yourself there bud. ;-)
@@nobodynoone2500 How's that?
I never needed to cross fords as most of the areas where I'm driving tend to have irrigation or bridges or the streets there are built high enough anyway.
Now I know - but I still consider it "fascinating but irrelevant to my real life", right up there with how to wrestle grizzly bears or landing helicopters with the left hand only...
@@notroll1279 If you seriously thought that speed is the way through deep flood water then you're thick end of. Putting aside the engine and electrics of your car flooring it can cause you to aquaplane and end up going in the wrong direction or worst case floating away. Its quite simple if in doubt turn around or proceed with caution.
Fun side game: Check the registration plates online to see which vehicles are still on the road ;)
I decided to try this, specifically on the white C63S at 8:54. It must be a private place cos it's now saying Porsche Macan as oposed to the C-Class. Would be a shame if the spanner wrote off that Merc
Imagine finding you've just bought a car featured.. 😬
That’s a lot of episodes of this Ford to watch through 😮
Check the companies to see which delivery driver was handed his P45 for "Writing off a company vehicle"
Mercedes, BMW and luxurious SUV owners makes these clips so enjoyable to watch. Words cannot describe!
I love how Kuga drivers think it is some sort of super off road vehicle. It's a jacked up focus pal calm down.
Great video once again.
but i think if he stopped as soon as he made it, turned of engine and squeeze out water from air filter he might got home. depending how far the water got in to the system
@@stevekenilworth Nope !
@@cabovermike if engines of before water gets in then yes
@@stevekenilworth I cant see most of these getting away with no damage to engines/interior/electrics etc,.
@@cabovermike i was on about that one what they got through then the engine cut out. the ones what do not make it through most likely a write off
Someone should do an interview on some of the drivers i would love to know what they had in mind
What makes you think they have a mind?
“Just going for tea”
Not much
It's amazing how many people wake up one day and think, "I know I'll ruin my car's engine today" 😂
When I come from the US to the UK for holiday I'm coming here!! Best Entertainment ever! I'll bring a lounge chair and pints for the lads!
And the moral of this story is, if your delivery van is a Mercedes, don't cross Fords.
That sounds like a marketing slogan for the Blue Oval 🤣
So much Sprinter massacre.
And the fun part is that after those DPD vans the Europcar one was probably also DPD with a rental van.... 🤦
@@makpsv dpd is the worst delivery company for a reason
@@TheSuperBoyProject I haven't had a problem with them yet. 🤷♂️
The only real problem I know is with DHL with one of my friends, they didn't deliver the package (he was home) and he had to go to their office (60 Km away).
Genius of the year goes to the driver at 7:07 who confidently drives into the water after seeing another car stuck… and gets stuck himself.
The duck quack was the icing on the cake 🤣. Heard a few rods knocking & misfires. I've personally seen airbags blow from the force of the water at speed. The video was beautifully done 👏👏🎬👍
I found this ridiculously interesting to watch! Never thought of driving through water like that before. Very kind man to help these passer-by’s
I can't get enough of that beautiful sound of a hydrolocked engine 😆😂. Pedal to the metal, what could possibly go wrong in two feet of water 🤣😂
I love the way the ducks are joining in the fun :-)
The ones who hesitate then go for it are the funniest. Always trust your gut 😂
I like how some people got the right idea and goes in slow, but then halfway through floors it and floods the engine. Genious!
When the headlights disappear you know they’re dead!
Depends on the car...
The smug look of the guy at 2:10 made me happy to see him break down. Just drive slowly it's not difficult
he was just smiling
The real Heros on Rufford Ford are these fearless dugs
The quacking of the duck is the death knell for the unsuspecting driver.
As a retired Master Automotive Technician across the Pond, this is entirely entertaining. Thank you.
Wow, I didn't know you have to be a Master Automotive Technician from America to enjoy the video!
@@TheSuperBoyProject You’re so idiotic. You don’t understand why this is even more entertaining for him? …🤦♂️
@@TheSuperBoyProject well, now u know
So you’re a mechanic🤷🏻♂️
@@dermotmcglinchey282 Yes, Retired now.
We need a “floaters” collection .
The fact that most of them would have been just fine, had they just approached slowly.. that bow wave gets them everytime.
I love how they get out and pop the hood. Gee I wonder what's wrong with my car?
Superb entertainment Ben as always, once again showing there’s an awful lot of idiots on our roads.
Next time I am up to Sheffield and it is raining heavy, I am going to give this thing a try
@@nafnaf0 Same here
and they are all European, lmao.
@@nafnaf0 Yeah..... You do that...
plus they cant see or read the signage showing the depth of the water
I love all the oohs and ahhs from the crowd when an engine locks up in a huge wave
Aliens watching this must think.. “yeah, they’re not ready yet” 😏
I love when they get obligated to stop their cars after crossing the river. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Years ago when the air filter was on top of the carb you could drive through this kind of water, but now the air intake is a duct on the front grill you’re basically ramming water straight into the engine. Just roll through it slowly.
How is it backwards?
At the beginning I thought it would be a ''101 fails compilation of the same mercedes truck again and again'' 😂😂😂
Even the ducks are laughing!
The deviation takes 4+ minutes. Worth it.
Brilliant comp. Could we see more of the drivers who have to open their doors in the water please? Not that I'm sadistic, just that I'm a huge supporter of the Darwin Awards.
Mate if you've been watching this a while the best ones open their doors OUT of the water and release about an entire bathtub's worth back onto the road lmao those are the funniest ones 😅
I agree got to be done
@@shutityouslag7604 Best is to hear destroyed engines.... ;)
🤣
To win a Darwin award you have to remove yourself from the human gene pool in an award-worthy way. This means in practice that your misadventure must either end your life or abolish your ability to reproduce. Rufford Ford is clearly ending the lives of lots of engines (unless someone is taking them to pieces and replacing all the bent and broken parts) but the drivers are getting out alive and probably retaining their reproductive ability.
A couple of vehicles went in slowly, which is the correct technique, but then inexplicably decide to floor it half way through!
Probably because water started getting in. And then poof, panic, and they floor it. It is the only explanation I can think of
They got afraid because of the depth of the water
Это не тормоза на пол пути, а смерть двигателя! Гидроудар называется. Уже не говоря про электрику.
actually you are supposed to ease in and power out
when you go full throttle, you suck in water.. slowly and steadily.. not like a BMW driver
Car drivers have no idea how their cars work.. this is amazing :D
whenever I feel like I'm dumb, I watch Rufford Mill.
Beemers are in the majority of muppetry!😆.
Also love the floaters! 🙂🙂🙂
'Cause rules don't apply to them, right? 😆😆
All the german makes seem represented here tbh
Nah vans are, and lorries, they think they invincible
Absolutely first class. I really appreciate the cars being grouped by manufacturer. You should time stamp for those who don't like a particular manufacturer or love to see people tanking cars that *should* be more than capable on the hands of someone with half a brain.
I would also love to see a "floaters" compilation. There is nothing more sadistically satisfying than imagining the look on the drivers faces when their car turns into a leaky boat!
I noticed this too! I was very impressed by the way this video was organized.
And mostly German cars so stay away from, but over rated anyway 👌
@@elliotward-spensley1386 nice one 😅
@@johnelliott9415 "mostly German cars" 🤣
100% English idiot drivers. But yes, it's the cars fault.
You blame the bathing suite if you can't swim?
5:02 It started well, I swore it would pass... until I saw him accelerate with everything! hahahahaha
Here I am watching Rufford Mill again, must be bedtime!
People’s stupidity will never not amaze me. I wouldn’t drive through this in my 17 year old van but these people are doing it in brand new cars they still have years of finance to pay on 😂
you are a snowflake
Not everyone is poor to get a car through a finance agreement.
@@TheSuperBoyProject but too stupid to drive through a lake. Who's really winning, huh?
I am a big fan of going through puddles our low flooded areas but you Gotta know how low can you go is your intake baby you just gotta know where it is😂
I love how one of these guys completely forgot that he did not have his Snorkel on and came in hot and got nowhere👌
Certainly more fun watching somebody total their expensive car than watching off-roaders!
Hopefully someone from the insurance companies are watching too!!
Hearing the children laughing and cheering is the best thing of all.
Road Closed signs, a water depth indicator and they still try... 🤣🤣
It's insane how these people don't even stop for a second to think about what's in front of them.
Goes to show how stupid people can be really...sad but true.
Luckily there are also people like you.
Would love to see their faces when they’re told what the repair costs are going to be
Yes, the video poster should ask them if they mind having their aftermath story followed. Would be interesting to see what damage they caused and how much it cost to fix...........
@@banditdarville. it’s possible a lot of the cars got totaled by insurance
@@Alniemi Yes, most likely, your right.
@@banditdarville. Makes me wonder if the insurance company can refuse to pay as drivers deliberately drove through, ignoring advisory signs?
@@tomcat7525 Yea it can be refused under avoidable water/flood damage
There's a special satisfaction seeing BMW, Audi and 4x4 drivers come a cropper
You just know the 4x4 drivers that fail are saying 'but it's a 4x4!'
They use that one when they skid on snow or ice too.
Bellends
Lol the “let’s go” truck
whenever it is an audi, bmw or Mercedes it is just so much funnier 😂
Brilliant compilation. Cheers for taking the time to put it together and having most of it in categories. I see the ducks are thriving on their new diet of conrods and undertrays.
A majority have left as it has gotten to be like junk food all the time lol
Hats off for the way these have been grouped together in the video to show the clueless drive anything and everything, not just Beemers and Mercs............but I still think the futile click of a Beemer starter is one of the most ludicrous sounds in the world :)
Surely the drivers must think "Why are all these people fil..... Oh, that's why" 🤣
it's nice of you to compile them per brand.. 😁
i like the part where the locals are just standing around watching and filming this .
That's a retarded society. UK.
Must be over £1M worth of damage in this video 🤣

There should just be a sign saying "no Sprinter vans at any time"
Who needs Netflix.. When you have this channel and Rufford Ford !!
I think it’s funny that the majority of the fails are delivery vans and Mercedes/BMWs. Which are pretty much the top three most courteous drivers, as we all know
I always feel bad for the ones who go in with the right technique but aren't aware how low down the intake is on their vehicle.
yes that is bad luck
Yes, sometimes it looks like it is possible but goes wrong anyway. If you see one flooded stret and think you an do it: Don't Just don't do it.
Nah, I don’t feel sorry for any of them. It’s a massive expansive of water, and there are usually the shattered carcasses of the previously unsuccessful littered either side, so there are plenty of clues.
If you have opened your hood, you should know where your air intake is...
The right way, is in reverse.
One of the neighbours needs to set up a recovery business. What a gold mine
The mechanicals of the area would love this LoL
The crazy thing is that back in the day the ford would have been a good thing for road users. It would have cooled horses down and you could have stopped carts in it to get wheels wet - the wood would expand and youd have a stronger wheel.
You’re forgetting the Black Death was around as well.
So, I’m guessing that some of these people think that if they go fast enough, the car will just skip across the surface of the water like a flat stone?
That seems to be the theory! 🤣🤣
Tools.
Indeed, that seems to be a prevailing theory. Those are the ones that don't just need a engine overhaul after this but also some body work replacement.
during flooding a sports hatchback, goes into the water
there is the darwin award
Ohh that sweet Sound when pistons try to compress water...
Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase, "You've flooded it"! Isn't there an alternative route available around this ford?
I was thinking the same thing.
Yea it’s a one mile detour to get around
1 mile detour ???? Can’t have that nonsense .. I’m gonna risk hydro locking my engine
Listening through headphones increases the pleasure gained from the noise of hydro locking. 👍
That was some pretty deep flooding. Seeing ducks swimming around should give you pause.
Awwwww That beautiful duck got more brains
I don't know what is worse, people laughing at you after you grenade your engine or people taking pictures from every angle
Makes me laugh how they try starting their hydrolocked engines after 😂
The repair shops must make a fortune around there.
The tow guys would be very rich in this area😂😂
The amazing thing for me is they all think speed is the answer. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy the ride
speed and power!
That's what Jeremy Clarkson claims. More speed & more power.😁
If German vehicles were able to travel underwater, they wouldn't have had to build U-Boats! It's a thrill to see BMW drivers get their just deserts! ;)
Audi and Mercedes too
How can people be so stupid to try passing with such low cars?
Its a pitty for the Red e60.
Try to find one in Red in this condition
Weird how theyre all german or euro fords lol
Fuck off. I drive a BMW and wouldn't go through
This video had at least a 200k$ in damage to BMWs alone.
It's good to see everyone testing their brakes after crossing...
Holy hydraulic lock Batman!
Great compilation of engine death rattles, nicely organised!
Just imagine the total cost of repairs to the vehicles 😆
Only engine replacement...
I work in a place where a driver submerged a 69 plate sprinter. The bill was just under £10k.
101 fails so, what, about half a million pounds on the conservative side?
@@dgcbadania Replacing the carpet or at least taking it out to dry is a major pain
At least. And many ruined expensive interiors and electronics.
18:09. You even got a professional photographer working for the historical embrassment moment for you...😂
I can assure you that the manufacturers of these cars are watching and taking notes
Mercedes should use this video in their training or warranty department
Would love to hear more of the engine noises
You can hear a couple start knocking and rattling, or even a good "crack" ... Yikes! I would love to hear more of that too.
The lucky ones get by with a wet air filter and airflow sensor, there seem to be quite a few crunchy ones too!
This is what I’m talking about! We need a mic boom for that first start of crunch.
I might start a conrod shop up just near that ford.
Lol it sounds like a knocking shop at the min
Love the Rufford rattle!
It’s like these people have no idea of how a car works , YOU need air to breathe, so it’s obvious the engine of the car does too, if you block the air intake and the water goes over the bonet , you flood the engine through the intake. You basically get yourself one of the most heftiest repair bills… Nice comp 👍🏻
Extremely satisfying
I still cant comprehend how so many people think their car is going to be find driving through that high water.
WELL organized by car brand. Great job!
The ducks are laughing at all those Mercedes Sprinter vans 😂
In this video, on average, they always break through the flood quickly... even though it is a fatal mistake. tips for breaking through flooded puddles are first to check the position of your vehicle's air intake and then check the depth of the puddle if the puddle is still below the air intake position your car will be safe if you break through the flooded puddle at low speed by using gear 1 or L in the automatic gear position put gear as low as possible. secondly, turn off the AC or heating of your car so as not to damage the magnetic clutch and AC compressor. thanks hope it's useful.
