- In this video The Lallantop’s Upasana Verma talked about the INS Arighat. India has commissioned its second nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, INS Arighat. The submarine, which carries the pennant number S3 and means “destroyer of the enemy,” is the successor to the INS Arihant, which was commissioned in August 2016. This new vessel bolsters India's nuclear triad, improving its deterrence capabilities across land, sea, and air. INS Arighat’s nuclear reactor enables it to travel at speeds of 12 to 15 knots on the surface and 20 to 24 knots underwater. It can carry between 10 and 12 K-15 nuclear-armed submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) and is equipped with four vertical launch tubes for these missiles, which have a range of about 750 km. There are three categories of Nuclear-powered submarines not two types..The one that carries conventional weapons is called an SSN in NATO terminology. The second type is capable of carrying guided missiles with conventional warheads - an SSGN. The third, and typically the largest and most complex, is the one that is capable of carrying ballistic missiles that may be nuclear armed - an SSBN.

SSBNs still has a weakness. Unfortunately that is Humans. They can't go on nuclear fuel. They need human supplies. Yet, it is a formidable deterrence.

Heard that India is losing its fleet due to corruption and inefficiency. Recently, a multi-million dollar war ship of India named INS Brahmaputra was destroyed due to an accident at the dock yard itself.
No it's false currently Indian Navy has most advance ships and submarines in its fleet. Also successor of this nuclear submarine is also in trials . Total of 5 nuclear submarines . Soon they are going to start a bigger project than this . Maybe in the next 2 years .
It's false. Indian navy is growing very fast. We will also purchase nuclear powered attack submarines from France. Research and development work is also going on for ins vikrant. Indian navy is doing good unlike Indian Airforce.
Also Indian Navy last year got a statue of Shivaji built for millions of taxpayers' rupees and inaugurated by the PM also got destroyed due to wind @40km/hr speed.?
