'Timeless' Cast On The Moment They Learned the Show Was Revived | SDCC 2017 | Entertainment Weekly

- The cast of Timeless was just as shocked and thrilled as the show’s fans when the series got a surprise renewal - just days after it had been canceled - for a second season.

Stars Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, and Goran Visnjic, along with executive producers Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke, stopped by EW’s video studio at Comic-Con to talk to EW SiriusXM radio host Jessica Shaw and PEOPLE/Entertainment Weekly editorial director Jess Cagle about that happy surprise as well as what fans have to look forward to in season 2.
“Shawn and I got the call at 9:30 a.m. on a Saturday,” Kripke said. “Shawn was in his Jacuzzi, as he does on Saturday mornings.”
Kripke was taking his kid to soccer practice, but they both stopped everything when NBC informed them that they regretted the cancellation and that they wanted the cast and creators to announce it themselves, on Twitter, in 15 minutes.
“We called everyone, except one person was getting her beauty sleep,” Ryan said. “I was asleep for all of it,” Spencer admitted; Barrett’s phone was on airplane mode.
“I tried calling Abby because we live somewhat close to each other. I was going to go to her house and do, like, a skit!” Lanter said. “She loves skits. Who doesn’t love a good skit?!” But she slept through the whole thing, “So I sort of did a lame version of it on my own.”
“Yeah, it was lame,” Spencer agreed.

Just finished watching last episode of season 2. So disappointing there isn't a 3rd and 4 th season, Best Sci-fi in a long long time. I thought it was great, so well written, lots of twists and turns! This really could have gone in so many different directions with more seasons, NBC you don't know what your doing. Goran Višnjić best actor, really made the show. Funny, great villain and I would have loved to see Lucy in a relationship with him. Great show, too bad it's over

Yeah. Timeless was one of my favorite American series along with 100 and Siren. It was the best! There's a lot of things to do with the plot. The actors are amazing! So sad there will be no season 3 anymore.
Love Goran's character. Love him as an actor too.
This show was so underrated and I am so glad it's coming back. They have such good chemistry!! Rufus and Flynn has awesome Instagram stories when it was announced. Loved it!! 💜💜💜

Every time I watch a cast having so much fun together, it kind of adds an appeal to the show itself. Which I already loved.

This cast's laughs are so adorable
One thing I do like about this show is that the creators didn't rush to get Lucy and wyatt together. It took its time like it would in reality which made them more special

When Gia's eyes roll back in her head and the GG Bridge shakes violently and looks war-torn for a few seconds and then everything returns to normal makes me think that the timeline has been forever altered and there's something litterally "EARTH SHAKING: that 's going to happen. I can't wait to see where that goes!

I met some of the crew while they were filming in my neighborhood last year and seriously, everybody involved with this series seems awesome. It's no wonder their fans loved them so much that they brought it back for a proper send-off.

Only discovered this now, August 2020, Covid-19 era, on Netflix! On season 2 now. I would have followed this all throughout if it ran for 15 seasons. Shame they only made 2. Loving this soooooo much! - much adoration from the Philippines.

I was brought to timeless because I loved Matt in Star Wars the Clone Wars (my favourite childhood show). Whenever I hear Wyatt's voice it brings me so much nostalgia to Anakin, but it doesnt make me think about Anakin everytime I hear it. Its just a familiar loving voice from my childhood. Anyways this show is great! I hope there will be a season 3 (I cant seem to find any sources telling whether or not it was cancelled, could someone let me know?)
timeless is a great show I watch it with my students. I know it a different kind of story line, but it is fun to watch with them. i can wait for season 3 to start and again watch it with my students
I just finished watching season 1. Love the show and all the characters. Wish it hadn''t ended after Season 2 .
It was interesting to see how the characters behave in real life, even though Matt and Goran talked too little. I just finished S1 and have read that the reviews for season 2 are even better, so I'm very excited. The show could go in many directions right now, so I hope the show evolves into an amazing Rittenhouse hunt by the Team together with Flynn. P.S. Malcolm has an enormous tongue wow

Agree with absolutely everyone else here. I mean it really was a sophisticated, nay gripping Series. Fast forward 6 years, and ive got both seasons - and the finally on ipad;- but here's the thing. The quality of acting is so phenomenally good - by everyone involved - you can pretty much return all the ways back to S1:Ep1 and start all over again: (I've done that, by the way. Sad or what, LOL) !!!! Little side note too. I really appreciated how the writers brought a very fragile and human element into the subject of skin color - but without going down the road of wokism. In today's world- and in an age now where divisivness is possibly worse than it has ever been, not stirring the waters in any way was in retrospect an incredibly wise move. Bless you all, and thank you for the episodes we DID get to enjoy - even if i would have preferred at least two more seasons. Stu from UK.
