As a wagon enthusiast (currently a VW JSW TDI owner), my dream car is a w123 or 124 E class wagon.

I'd buy that in a minute. Owned 2, never should have sold them. I'm building a '97 G320 into a G500D right now. it will be one of 3 in the US.

I'm contemplating buying a 87 300E turbo diesel wagon w 200k miles on it. I recently traded a 88 300E my first mbz which I really enjoyed driving but couldn't get it to pass smog for a 93 Ford escort wagon and it's so uncomfortable!

At the end I'm like ....got ya!!! Seiing a tiny stain in the back.....but bummer it was on my screen.😁!!!
Have the same here in hawaii...151000 miles....same colour but a 8/10 ...that one is a 10/10.
We are talking here about 25k to 40/45k....

LOL, thanks. I've sold this car twice, first time for 25k, then bought it back but it only brought 16k on the 2nd go. That 2nd buyer got a good deal.

There is one catch though.....you can't have it fixed neither by the dealer nor by any zozo expert mecanic.....
You are the one to do it all.....meaning i am the only guy touching my car...!!!
And anyway dealers do not want to hear about old models....at all..
      Thanks for the eyes....

Is the 1987 engine different than the one in my 1992 300d 2.5t? That one sounds way different

Yes. The 87 300D was a one year variant of the OM603.
      3.0 turbo from factory.

the 300d and 300td mostly came with gassers or the om617, 3 liter 5 cylinder turbo diesel. in 1987 Mercedes used their om603 3 liter 6 cylinder turbo diesel. the om603 is less common than the om617 but can be found in other models.
