    • @stealthwang
      @stealthwang 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Integrating a different sensor would be a great deal more effort. This sensor is used due to it's preexisting compatibility with the Raspberry Pi. The best hope is for an improved sensor on the next-generation Raspberry Pi cameras or for a compatible sensor module to be developed by a third party once the CinePi community is established.

      You need high quality lenses for those tiny pixels, if you add focal reducers and use compromised lenses designed for larger sensors.. you are not going to get close to utilizing the sensor.
      Its uses a IMX 477 sensor, it has 1.55 µm pixel size. Large sensor lenses cant resolve pixels that small, especially if you use extra lenses in between.

    This looks very promising!
    As other commenters wrote, would love to :
    - see more footage!
    - know a bit more about the parts needed (beyond a Pi - which version ? -, a screen, a lens, a mount and a 3d printer of course 😅), and the costs. Actually learning about the build process itself would be really nice (and probably needed)
    - learn about the current sensor size
    - see if there could be possible alternate mounts in the future, CCTV lenses being, well, what they are… are there licensing costs for let’s say, a PL mount 😂?
    - the website looks to be down (or it’s just me)
    Thank you, cannot wait to see more!

    People are struggling to differentiate cinema camera to a typical mirrorless dslr camera.
    And here u are asking features from from a dslr or mirrorless camera.
    Again, autofocus and stabilization is not basic features of a cinema camera, u can solve thise problems by rigging those out.
    What matters are basic video features, resolution, sensor size, cpu, recording codecs, buffer time and storage media.

      @carbox18 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @cinepicamera

      The highest resolution mode on the HQ camera ( IMX477 sensor ) is 4056x3040, however due to the 2 data lane limitation of the Pi4, it can only do that resolution at 10fps. The 2028x1520 or 2028x1080 modes use 2x2 binning, which means it does not crop the sensor, so you get full field of view and up to 50fps.

    What is a ballpark estimate on the cost of building one of these?

      $250-$300, alot of that depends on much you accessorize after the core build. ( what lenses you choose, camera cage / rigging parts, what capacity of SSD media did you chose, etc... )

    1. Will it eventually have a glorious heavenly sensor to beat them all.
    2. Will it have the best internal image stabilisation of all
    3. Will it have adapters for most commonly used lens manufactures, with manual and autofocus options (think Sony)
    4. Will it eventually obliterate stupidly expensive cameras like RED, and similar
    5. Will it eventually record in RAW, internally, for at least 45 minutes, continuously, via SSD (internally).
    If you look up to the sky, you'll find there is no limit.
