    This is the first time since I started trying to learn bookkeeping a year ago, that I actually finally understand what double entry bookkeeping is and looks like. You are a brilliant teacher! Thank you so much for these videos! The only thing I'm not grasping yet is how to know what to enter as the transaction and how to know what account to enter.

    I’m so interested in being a bookkeeper that I purchased an almost $1000 course! I started it and I’ve been incredibly confused since (I’m requesting a refund today). 3 videos in with your free course and I already understand more than with my paid one! Thank you for putting these on YT for free! Very much considering the ultimate course!

    I did the AAT some years ago before taking time out to do a Psychology degree (yep I know quite different) - this brief course was great as a very succinct, comprehensive reminder - so much so I am thinking of taking the Ultimate Bookkeeping Course even though I have covered everything there before in my studies, but at the very reasonable value of £85 (£65) currently it is very tempting. For anyone getting started in bookkeeping you really can't go wrong with these videos and I think they are a good example of the quality one might expect from his courses. Thank you so much for this great quality free content Bookkeeping Master.

    Your videos are amazing. I have been making jewelry for 20 years now but recently started selling them. So I went from basically a hobby to a business. I started the year with around $6000 worth of raw material (beads, findings, wire , etc) for making jewelry that I personally bought. How do I record that? And shouldn’t I be paying myself back for that? Thank you for taking the time for my questions. You are an awesome person.

    • @BookkeepingMaster
      @BookkeepingMaster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks so much.
      The value of the raw materials can be sold to the business through debit stock and credit equity. This will record the value of stock in the business accounts and record the money owed to you from the business. I hope this helps.

    Hi. Thank you so much for freely sharing your knowledge, I personally appreciate it so much.
    What i don't fully understand is why "assets " and "expenses" are debits-classified together. My understanding has been, assets are positives whereas expenses are negatives...where am i missing it?
    I do however understand how/why "assets" like "capital, loan" are classified as liabilities eventually...
    My question goes to the 'liabilities' and 'sales' aswell....isn't a sale bringing in cash, whereas a liability is 'taking out cash' or in your words; cash is LEAVING...So then why are they categorised together?
    Please forgive my ignorance on this topic.
    Hoping to hear from you soon.
    Many Thanks!

      It is income. Revenue could be sales, interest earned, royalties, commissions, etc. Thanks for watching.

      @@BookkeepingMaster Thank you, sir, for your reply and explanation. The PEARLS acronym is so helpful. I recently got my latest account from my energy company saying my account was such and such Credit. I asked someone if this meant I owed the company money or they owed me. They said it meant I was in debt to the company, but I'm not sure they were right. I'm sure I will get to understand these things as I continue to study your amazing and totally fascinating course. God bless you.

    I struggle with the Debit and Credit. I can't help comparing it to using the literal translation. Why is Sales a Credit. (Credit defined as :leaving the account.) I would think that Sales is a Debit = money coming into the account. FYI...Enjoying the video. Thanks.

      Hi. Yes, the sale coming into the bank is a debit, but that is just one side of the transaction. The actual posting of the sale is a credit - debit the bank, credit sales. Thanks for watching.
