We got new WR450F 2021 and had time to shoot uncorking, and comparison with 2020 model (separate video at our channel). Uncorking includes: throttle stop shortening, removing of intake restrictor (airbox) and exhaust restrictor (muffler).
After uncorking it’s recommended to upload new fuel map via mobile App. But there is no map for WR450F 2021 at official Yamaha’s website. There is map for 2020 model only which should not fit, because new WR has new cylinder head: combustion chamber geometry with steeper valve angles, more aggressive cam profiles, a higher compression piston with low friction rings, longer connection rod, larger exhaust head pipe connector. We decided to wait for appropriate fuel map. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

It sucks that modern motorcycles have to be pretty much neutered from the factory, but what's nice is that manufacturers make it (mostly) easy to fix. Like that intake restrictor was just glued on, not an integral part of the filter.

Great video. Tempted to get this bike soon. The emissions laws that enforce all this extra stuff on new bikes make no sense at all. In Australia, about 99% of Enduro/MX bikes get uncorked straight away by the dealer or the buyer, so its pointless having it in the first place. Even after uncorking, the emissions and noise is still way way less than a Harley, other road bikes, pick-ups, 4WD, SUVs, etc. Stupid rules, but good to know there is an easy solution.
I hear you about emissions. I just put a deposit on a 2022 YZ250X. But now my dealer is telling me that here in CA, 2022 off-road bikes will not receive red stickers and will be confined strictly to MX tracks. Now I know the 250X can handle MX tracks without a problem, but it's natural habitat is trails & off-road, and I don't want to waste money on a brand new bike if I'm confined to just tracks. So I figured I should get a CARB compliant bike like the CRF450X or the WR450.

I like the the husqvarna fx 350 but not sure 😕 my buddy works in a dealer and he mentioned to go for the husqvarna fe350 since i can get it with green sticker but can't find full exhaust. system for it only slip on muffler
@@carlosmedrano3549 I hear you brother. This new law pretty much forced me to buy a used bike. I ended up getting a 2017 YZ250X. At least I got my sticker so I can ride on BLM between October - May and on the MX tracks whenever I want. If C.A.R.B. ever gets their head out of their asses ( I won't hold my breath) I'll trade it in for a new one.
Although I don't have a 450, this video was really straight to the point and informative. 10/10

I recommend atleast getting a yz450f exhaust makes a big difference as i did with mine!

I just bought the yz 450f and put the heaviest flywheel on it i could get , full fmf megabomb exhaust, she's a ripper !

Парни...не блудите в мыслях)))...заглушки - это для обкатки!!! Ямаха,наверное - единственный производитель, который рекомендует и подробно описывет как обкатывать новый мотоцикл!!! Скорее всего, то что мы видим на видео, описано "пошагово" в мануале)))

You can't de-restrict without chaning the ECU and the mapping, or it will detonate and run extremely lean !

So just do everything in this video plus add the $200 Gytr Ecm correct??. Does the bike do its own mapping after that or is there something else you have to worry about after you plug in the ECM?

Yes you can do the very same mods to the WR250F. Uncorking the bike gives you a greater amount of otherwise unavailable power.

@@Toxic_-wv4zz The ECU compensates for the additional airflow but if you’re not going to upgrade to the GYTR ECU then I don’t really see any real advantage in making the modifications.

Can someone explain to me the point of everything he did in this video? I'm really confused.
These bikes come "Corked" from factory, for emissions and other reasons. They have a throttle stop which only allows about 30% throttle, a baffle in the air box and a baffle in the exhaust to tame it down and quiet the bike, but ultimately loosing a lot of power. This video shows how to remove all those restrictions to help liven up the bike.

@@Toxic_-wv4zz yes I would highly recommend it. With the factory ECU, the bike would think that it's still receiving less air, giving less fuel. But in reality it would be getting way more air than before, so the bike would run lean.
You don't need the extra stuff though. The ECU comes flashed from the factory with a "mild" and "wild" map. buying the switch opens up the option to switch between the two - I think its set on "wild" from factory (good idea to get the switch - but not necessary) and the WiFi module lets you tune the bike with your phone. (really cool but not necessary for uncorking)
I rode mine for 10 hours "corked" before I had the ECU to uncork it. Being honest, I'd say x2 more power and 50% more torque than before.
@@evanwilliams6352 The fact a motor company sells bikes with throttle stops that aggressive is beyond me. I can understand the exhaust baffle and even the o2 sensors but restricting the throttle that much just seems outright dangerous. At least yamaha make it easier to pull apart than the honda's do (looking at you crf300l).
@@dodo19923 it has to do with regulations, and I'm assuming that they have to restrict the motor down with the throttle stop to meet some kind of emission standard. (less throttle, less air, less fuel out the pipe) Because this bike is sold as an "off road" or "street legal" outside of the US - instead of "closed coarse" they have to meet those regulations... I know, it's dumb.. and you can likely blame California for it... but at least it's very easy to remove the restrictions.

Better to do this. When we made the video there were no maps for this model at yamaha website.

там нечего рассказывать. задушенный он вообще не едет. газ тупо на половину открывается.
Задушенный ,с газа на второй передаче ,поднимался.Ну и максималка была 110км.ч
@@Byvalyi.VovseNeUser не поднимется он с газа задушенный. только со сцепления и с хорошим рывком на себя. может он был «полузадушенный». я не однократно сталкивался с ситуацией когда не шаря люди снимают только ограничитель открытие ручки газа, про рестрикторы вообще не знают что они там есть.
@@БорисМото ,был у меня wr во владении три года.Абсолютно новый,из коробки.Но речь об 2007мод.годе,поэтому карбюраторный.
Газ точно так же открывался менее чем наполовину.+Душилка стояла на впуске и на выпуске.

Вообще для обкатки. Но можно и убрать всё сразу и ездить с умом по началу.
Где Вы нашли информацию, что для обкатки? Это не так. Ограничители для норм ес, тк эндуро сертифицируются для ДОП, в отличие от кроссовых байков.

Хе, старое видео) На кроссовых мотах нет никаких ограничителей. Это для сертификации делается.

Hi can someone explain why MX bikes are not corked and yet trail bikes are? I’m looking to trade in my very first motorcycle that I have now (ktm 390 adv) for either this Yamaha or a CRF450X. I’ve heard both are considered trail bikes though therefore come corked? Is that all 50 states, I live in AZ? Why make it corked if it’s not even road legal... I could see this applying to dual sports like the crf300l. Is there anyway I can buy a newdirt bike (not MX bike) that I can just ride around trails/ desert and doesn’t come corked? Preferably a 450..
Because MX bikes are used at tracks only. Enduro bikes are homologated for public roads and should pass emission restrictions.

You can, but the end of the muffler will be covered in soot

This applies to the 2021 wr250f, so how retarded is the Stock ECU on 21 wr250f. What type of gains if you upgrade to the programmable ecu, which also requires the communicator. and how many mm was removed from the throttle screw, I guess too short isn't a problem.

@@Stuntex когда в задней части стоял пыль из под переднего колеса поднималась,теперь пыли меньше будет. Площадь самого фильтрующего элемента меньше.
@@user-Pavel_ наоборот, теперь у него воздухозаборники расположены в верхних частях передних накладок радиаторов. Сейчас он может только пыль от впереди идущего сосать, но никак не свою, как было до 18 года.
