John Achkar has very practical and simple insights about the opposition. I agree with most of what he said. Realistically they can’t change too much right now but we need to achieve the snowball effect. The single most important objective is to continue to prove their integrity in the parliament and change a culture for the years to come.

Thank you Médéa and Mouin and team for giving diasporic Lebanese such as myself a deeper and more meaningful connection to Lebanon and for infusing us with the passion to keep fighting wherever we live. I noticed Kwetle was translated to Catholic but this is inaccurate; should be Greek Catholic or Melkite. Roum was translated to Roman Catholic but it should be Greek Orthodox. Important differences. I just noticed Elodie is no longer doing the translation...I hope she's well!

To Medea. I like your show and I always watch your channel. about paying for the church, I got married one month ago and the church didn't ask anything about money. and I don't know why people having that much money to spend asks for the Bishop to celebrate the ceremony and get annoyed about him asking for money; simply don't invite him as I did . the "Batriyarkiye" didn't ask for money neither and I am completing the paper works without paying anything. Anyway with all due respect this is my opinion and what exact;y happened with me.

It’s also fascinating how no matter what background you come from - comedian, scientist, PR… - you always have some kinda political background/knowledge and you can speak fluently about Lebanese political issues LOL. Even in our gathering, somehow the conversations shift to politics all the time! Ma haik?!

لأن هودي النواب ما عندن ميليشيات تحميهن وحتى ما يكونوا عرضة للتهديد والبوطأة من الحيتان الي بالمجلس واجباتنا نحنا نأمنلهن الدعم. يعني عند كل جلسة مفصلية لازم الشعب يكون بالشارع واذا لزم الموضوع انه نواب التغيير يعتصموا جوة و نحنا معهن من برة لحتى نضمن تطبيق للعمليه الدستورية والديمقراطية بإلي بيتناسب مع حقوقنا داخل المجلس و نحط حد للتهريج الي اندارت فيه الجلسات من ٣٠ سنة لليوم.
Charbel Na7as' approach sounds extreme but it is the only sensible way, since the state of the country IS extreme. His approach is for the opposition to unite under the same work plan in order to attain enough support to rule. The aim of an opposition has to be to rule and not stay and oppose. They have to be on the offensive and call for guided demonstrations and localized pressure. MMFD's message has been clearly and purposefully mangled and mutilated in order for it to be presented like what you guys have said.
Yes in psychology they still use it and this test is so fu.....ing hard and yes its not recommended if they can cancel it in LU it will be much much appreciated 🤣🤣🤣🤣
تحية إلكم جميعا🌷،،ومع محبتي واحترامي لصدق نواياكم، عندي ملاحظة،،كأن هالجلسة الهدف منها كلها النيل من حزب القوات مع اني لست من القوات،،،الوقت اليوم مفروض يكون للتعالي عن الشرذمة، وبالعكس مدعووين نوحّد وجهات النظر،،،اذا كانت مبادىء التغييرين مرتكزة على محاربة الفساد فأين اذا تتعارض مع نهج القوات؟ اين الاختلاف اذا؟ بالنهج السيادي؟؟ القوات سياديين نعم يعني معارضين لكل نهج يمسّ بهوية لبنان وبرنامجهم واضح،، وهوية لبنان مش فينيقيا والتبولة،،لبنان رسالة تعايش وانفتاح، والانفتاح يعني تطور مع تمسّك بالقيم والأصالة مع علاقات جيدة مع البلدان يسودها الحياد،،،،، وحرية يعني حرية الثقافة و إبداء الرأي بأمان والمشاركة، وليست الحرية تفاهة وانحدار وتشريع الشواذ والانزلاق لمنحدرات الغرب.. اذا ما رح تتوحد الجهود رح تبقوا تحكوا بهالحرية فقط خارج الأراضي اللبنانية !! عم تنتقدوا التيار بالوقت يلي عم تذكرونا بحديثكم بهالجلسة بأسلوب عون لما بالقيادة قرّر يوحّد البندقية بلبنان و بدأ اولا بتصفية الحزب المسيحي وترك الاحزاب الباقية تتسلح وتترسخ وتصير إيد للمحاور الخارجية اوصلتنا للهاوية مع الفاسدين،،وانتوا بهالجلسة ما ركزتوا غير على القوات كأنهم مرتزقة او حاملين مشروع بيع لبنان للخارج وما جبتوا سيرة الأساس بخراب لبنان وإدخاله بالمحاور الإقليمية وتمرير الصفقات وإفلاس المصارف تحت نظر الفاعلين بالبلد....القوات هم لبنانيون،،، ناس حاربت بالدم تا يبقى لبنان بيوم من الايام وتتبقوا انتوا بلبنان كمان...بالحرب كلّن غلّطوا..عيب علينا نحكي بهالمنطق لليوم،،التغيريين بلا القوات لن يستطيعوا التغيبر مع احترامنا لكفاءاتهم،،لأنهم يحتاجون ارضية القوات الثابتة ورؤيتهم السياسية وخبرتهم وقد اثبتوا انهم يعملون للبنان وليس لفئات، من خلال مناقبية ونزاهة نوّابهم، وباعتراف خصومهم بالسياسة... المطلوب تكاتف وتعالي فوق منطق ال أنا أو لا أحد.. ضروري يتعاون الجميع على المبادىء الأساسية الوطنية،،والزواح المدني ليس بضرورة وطنية اليوم عم يلهوا الناس عن الأساسي،،،من اراد الزواح المدني يتزوج بقبرص ما حدا بمانعو،،،،بعد ما دخلوا النواب الجدد المجلس حتى تحاسبوا،،و يا ريت بليز تخبرونا شو مشاربع التغيريين لتحييد القضاء عن السياسة وكف إيد قوى الأمر الواقع عن القضاة الشرفاء بإنفجار مرفأ بيروت، بالترهيب او بالترغيب...بلد بلا قضاء وعدل كل الفلتان متاح فيه...صار لازم نكون وعينا إنو الإنقسام والذمّ بالأخر لن يؤول الى انقاذ لبنان.

On the point of "ndal mou3arada", Chou ya3ne ndal mou3arada, esa el mou3arada ma bada tousal lal 7ekem ? Doesn't differ from ndal "siyede" or "moukawame". The "opposition" is a means to an end, let's discuss what everyone thinks should be done, how to do it against all the current odds in a roadmap of multiple checkpoints were we need to arm-wrestle our way through, to agree to disagree to persuade, to coalesce towards a more unified political goal.
You raise a good point, but I believe he was talking about being a mo3arada as in remaining a source of political pressure and how we shouldn't call it a day and pat ourselves on the back and move on but rather keep working politically, to change the country for the better. Next, The executive branch :)
@@sardeafterdinner Thanks for the reply ❤️ To be fair to John, maybe he didn't have the opportunity to express his idea to a greater extent. And I raised the question earlier knowing that nobody's claiming we should let off the gas when it comes to opposing, but to escape the "cheap thrill" we get from only focusing on "opposing" which is the easiest thing to do, and to finally contend with the actual political responsability, even if it splits a serious opposition into 2 concrete projects. In fact, that could be a great, more fruitful scenario.
Secondly, nobody's also claiming they have all the answers. Even MMFD themselves, with a project relatively detailed to a T, and unfortunately multiple accurate predictions of the collapse years prior to oct-19, admit, the adversities are high even for the most serious propositions, once in power.
The point is 1-having a full concrete proposition 2-Being able to explain its rationale and choices made 3-stand responsably by it, while being open for rational policy-driven persuasion. Not create new ideologies and not simply raise a nice "mou3arada" flag and waive it, which, that 2nd part, has been a disheartening practice coming from many post-2019 faces, almost sounding as superficial as sulta at times. At such superficial levels, they are treading the Murr junior waters and nothing deeper.
Pressure is not presenting a few faces in the Parliament and having the sulta offering them flowers to welcome them onboard, on frankly a TV platform they fund for the most part, or as they walk through the wall of shame. This Sulta practice is akin to Bashar el Assad, now accepting an ~88% instead of 99% win, through a "Democratic election". Sad satire if you ask me.
And even more sad is that the new opposition/members of parliament feared to show disagreement, as opposed to having a healthy disagreement supported by a clear statement in my opinion, and accepted to attend as one this Sulta's shit show.
Both Mouin and John were clear how MTV's a disgraceful platform for the highest bidder, in today's lebanon, being the orchestrators and fruit bearers of the insanely immoral lebanese pyramid scheme, low-life charlatans paying to attend these tv platforms dressed in respectable suits.
As Mouin & Médéa mentioned, to resume via elections baladie/na2abie and lessons from past experiences, I say pressure is to side-kick at every opportunity and flip the current political discourse on its head by forcefully moving it from " identity or camps" to "policies" based on a roadmap and execution plan, that 1-leaves no room for the sulta parties but for their socially diverse followers/members to break and split based on policies, not another identity with another nice flag or mascot. 2-For different opposing groups to be able to agree or disagree based on an assessment of the viability of the "policies/roadmap/execution plan" combo.
Edit: finished the episode and loved John's response to the last question "is there hope"? I just hope we have the time and stamina for this supposed marathon, during this unprecedented economic suffocation of this country. Urgency and political agency to shift course from a long marathon to a hard blow sprint is essential before losing all hope.
