I love your unedited/minimally edited videos. Makes me feel like I'm there. Can't stand the hyper-edited stuff with trap beats over the intro, b-roll and drone shots. WASSUP GUYS ITS YA BOI SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON. no thanks
Reminds me of the late 90s/early 2000s Saturday morning cable TV fishing shows. Where every second was used to plug sponsors and every time the host hooked a fish there was a Van Halen guitar solo.
I like the long videos personally. As a kayak angler myself it really shows me how you handle your kayak in current/wind and gives me a little more confidence in my boat knowing it’s not my kayak handing horribly 😂also showing the amount of effort/ time you really put into catching these fish is refreshing. Lotta the time it feels like TH-camrs are just in a completely different class of fisherman and not fellow anglers making it happen. Great video as always.
You asked how your posts are viewed, I peice it. I have several individuals that I fallow religiously you being one, grumpy no but you don't have to tell anyone that you are from NY, 😂.but unlike a New Yorker you are very respectful to my ears, fish, and investment ty. 1 of the reasons I fallow you
These videos give me a warm fuzzy feeling as I sit here in could PA. I am watching this with the hockey game in the background. Enjoy your dinner. Tight lines!
Love these videos, I watch them in full mostly or I'll have them on in the background while im fileting/cooking fish. Love this unedited content, totally agree that stuff is getting too over the top on fishing youtube. Tight lines man happy new year!
I watch/ listen to the longer videos while I'm driving, like a podcast. I drive over the road, and I find them relaxing. I've been a follower of Justin since he started years ago and love his longer ones. It's nice to see you giving them a try. I follow you because of Justin.
On cold winter day watching warm water fishing is entertaining to say the least...I personally pause the video and do other things, but come back to it until it is finished...tight lines, good luck stay safe!
I believe the coral you pulled up around 1:51:40 is not actually coral, but a type of sponge. I'm not a sponge expert but it looks like it could be chicken liver sponge (Chondrilla nucula), which is fairly common in the area. The holes you see on the top of the piece of sponge are oscula, which it uses for water flow. Sea turtles quite like those guys. Now that you've got me commenting I'll mention that I'm also a fan of the longer videos. I'll put them on a screen in the background for the pleasant visual/audio while I'm writing (often about fish!). When you get a chance you should explore doing some backcountry/flats fishing in the keys. It's a bit more technical than bridges, but a fun challenge and the flats are beautiful. I'd be happy to share a couple of kayak launch points with you if you're interested.
Watching at home and work, really enjoy these i can watch it in spurts so basically it is like having 4 - 5 videos. Keep up the good work brother and thaks as always
Nice Elias it was fun fishing with you down there last week! Epic mangrove on the artificial. Bummed you lost that other one before I hooked that big mutton! Would have been a sick double up!
I like the longer videos. Me and a group of guys come down from WV with kayaks every year in February. We spend time between the keys and chokoloskee and it gives me some tips and ideas on how to fish down there.
Elias another great time in the Florida Keys - Man those mangroves, mutton, groupers are so much fun to watch - you cannot find a better place to go fishing than the keys. The waters are so clear and beautiful and those mangroves are some of the best fish in the world to eat. Also like those trolling videos you have done getting those 20plus inch muttons and all those groupers that is fantastic on lures. Great show.
Love watching you figure it out Elias, Thanks for bringing us along. The last thing you need to do is worry about what. Everyone I now uses the long videos to fall asleep at night, It;s a TV replacement for going to sleep. I'm not much into the 3 hour videos. Let the other dogs chase that rabbit, just keep jumping them up Sir.
I have to leave halfway through and watch the rest with coffee tomorrow. I love it all, the Yellow and the Bar Jacks relate to the shade of the bridge more than current anything in my experience but I could be wrong.
Yes, I much prefer your unedited videos. I pick up all kinds of good info, and even super nuanced changes can and do make a difference. I take this learning to my Florida kayaking area pretty much every day! Thinking I might have to upgrade my outback to an epedal to cover more ground... 30+ hours a week beats me up a bit...!
I keep a video of this length on in the background. It’s perfect to get some stuff done on the computer or around the house and turn around occasionally to see blue water and someone fishing is great. 👍🏼
I watch your longer videos anytime anyway, but they really come in clutch for me when I'm building a rod, pouring and painting jigs and jig heads, cooking dinner, tying flair hawks, tying flies.... any time I need a fishing companion to see me through my endeavors. Keep it up =). Been pouring jig heads, snipping off the keeper before painting and tying on a stainless wire keeper for elaztec baits. the wire keeper bites hard into the elaztec to the point that you'd have to rip the bait off to put a new one on. Zman doesn't have their stuff quite figured out yet as far as jig heads go.
Your videos and no nonsense style are what I aspire to with my videos! I won't lie, I'll use some clicky titles. But I want the content to be some serious, real, fishing.
Whatever gets a good bend in the rod is fun for sure. Loved the portion talking about "pan" or smaller fish. Used to get into horse croakers when throwing jigs for gray trout. They were a blast and fought hard. Not bad eating either! Also loved jigging sea bass on the wrecks with diamond jigs and bucktails.
I love these long form unedited videos. It's cold as hell up here and I'm doing nothing but day dreaming about fishing, so it's nice to have up on my second monitor while I work. Any chance when the vacation is over you could do a run down of your rig? I'd love to see that.
In this video you wondered who was watching your long form videos and why. Thought I would provide some context about my experience. I'm an engineer who grew up fishing and love to do so anytime I get a chance. I work very long hours. I play your videos on a big screen TV in my office while I work. I watch the entire video when it's long form but not when it's short form because the short form videos interrupt my work flow. My reason for watching is simple. When I watch your videos it feels like I'm fishing with my friends again. The conversation, the pace, the high and lows are almost identical. Your presentation is very good. It's real. Even when you don't catch fish. If you tried to improve production or make the videos more entertaining you would ruin them. Keep it up and i'll keep watching. - steve
Nice job on the big mangrove. To answer your question about what I would do with that jighead and plastic lure pulling down all the time, superglue works wonders. You mentioned you use swivels to maximize your time with your lures in the water. However, you sure were wasting a lot of time fixing your lures when they pulled down. Lock tight or super glue would save you so much time fiddling with your lures. Hook-Up jigheads also have a good barb to hold down the lures. My 2 cents. You are certainly a great fisherman and have fantastic presentation which is absolutely key.
Appreciate your videos! Great inshore saltwater content! Ive learned alot! Maybe just one suggestion, a little more depth on technnique and equipment. I enjoy watching you catch fish but i often wonder what type of gear your using or what made you choose a particular lure or color. Not trying to be critical just interested in the methods you employ. Again. Really appreciate the videos!!
My question as a guy starting out making videos is HOW DO YOU FILM SO LONG?! What battery set up do you have? Also I watch these instead of a podcast at night before bed.
To answer your question about how I watch your unedited videos. I watch on my iPad in the background while working on my laptop. It used to be music in the background, now it's your 4 hour videos, lol.
Also, I admit, I enjoy hearing a discernable NYC accent in the background. Don't get me wrong. Definitely not classic Brooklynese but still NYC. You can take the man out of NYC but you can't take NYC out of the man.😊
I personayl prefer edited videos even if it's long, unless I put it on while rigging up for a trip :). And I think it has more views because every time u get back to the video to continue watching it, it counts as a view.
I Enjoy your videos and narration. How do you manage to stay so still while fishing under the 7 mile bridge? Those currents are ripping and you hardly pedal? Slack tide?
I'll pull the unedited videos up in the background when I'm working from home, or TH-cam will pull it up for me after watching a shorter video. I'm not watching it closely unless it sounds like you've got something big on. I rarely watch TH-cam in the office because it's cubicle land.
Please...smash that god damn jig head at 1:30 ! Hate it when they do that. I have to say, being a jig fisherman, the jig head style shape and weight make all the difference. So subtle but so important. Great as always. If you have the time, get some chum blocks and put them somewhere your going to stay around. Seems like that's the thing down there. When there biting it helps. When it's slow its marginal. Those are nice mango's. Those bridges are funny, I have fished off of them and seen 50 fish in a school on some days and nothing with the tide change hours later. It's fishing, have to put in the time.
Have you ever tried a Gotcha metal plug around the bridges? They are pretty deadly in my experience. Jacks Snook Spanish Macks and Ladyfish and Trout love ‘em!
I love your unedited/minimally edited videos. Makes me feel like I'm there. Can't stand the hyper-edited stuff with trap beats over the intro, b-roll and drone shots. WASSUP GUYS ITS YA BOI SMASH THAT LIKE BUTTON. no thanks
Bahaha. I really laughed at that one. I am glad people are over the “smash the like button” and corporatized content.

I say sponge also.
Appreciate all that. Having decent success in the back country - but it won’t be as entertaining long form. Maybe I’ll try it some day.
I like the unedited videos more. I watch about 30 minutes of them at a time. Feels like I get a video every day.
I’m really enjoying the unedited content. Keep up the good work!

Hey there, long video helped me get through my truck being worked on at the dealership….
Thanks,
Love the Keys.
watching this while working and playing games. great content
Nice Elias it was fun fishing with you down there last week! Epic mangrove on the artificial. Bummed you lost that other one before I hooked that big mutton! Would have been a sick double up!
The happiness and excitement are very obvious from the first few seconds on.
Love your videos and these are a special treat. Hope you and the wife and family all had a great holiday.
Appreciate it! Merry Christmas!

Fish are biting good around Buzzard Bay, but it has been cold in NC. Love the long uncut videos😊
Καλημερα απο την Ελλαδα ,σε ευχαριστουμε πολυ για το βιντεο σου ,καλη συνεχεια,,
May take me a couple of days to watch it but I will. Those Muttons look like a fun fish to catch and so many around the bridge area.

Stacked up sea bass are incredible amounts of fun.
@@EliasVFishing For sure! And delicious

Your keys videos are the bomb
Next time say.. He's joining me for dinner 😊
That's funny, we gotta go here and here and here. My brother was very upset with me when I convinced him to leave fish to find different fish!

Love the insight. Thanks a bunch!
Meg, Elias, Happy New Year. God Bless
Happy New Year!
I enjoy all your kayak videos Has anyone ever told you that your voice sounds like Ray Romano? 3:33:17 😂
Dig it bro.
We watch ya from BootKey.
The best bands play small venues.
By far, my favorite spots are Sharky’s and Shrimp Schack! I'm looking into buying down there as week speak!!

I'm not screaming inside "Change the dang Jig Head", YOU'RE screaming inside "Change the dang Jig Head!"
Pretty amazing fishing the keys. What's the biggest grouper you've caught on a kayak?
Some 15-20lb Goliaths. Not much bigger than that.
Slack tide?
All about positioning too.
It’d be cool to see you attempt to go after some bonefish on the flats before you leave
What’s the best way to keep your gear in shape form salt water? Just rinse it off with fresh or that and a combination of WD-40?
Rinse. I don’t ever use WD-40.
Keep it goober brother.
No offense but the Seth Rogan voice is awesome. Laugh and all!Light up a J and I’ll join you. 😂
Question for the most part what the depth of water was mostly around the bridge??. Reason Kayak or sea doo
5-15’
How do these lures compare to live shrimp? Ive always used live shrimp but these lures seem to work good
Live shrimp will out fish this 10 to 1
I’m pleased with the Daiwa fluorocarbon nice priced
Do you think the 2500 vanford would be overkill for Bass?
Think it’d be great for lmb!
Snappers are tough i wouldn't worry about the release 😅
big mutton’s do end up in shallow water in the keys i’ve seen 25+ at the bridge some cuberas so big they’re eating lobster
Do you know if there are any kayak rental companies that allow fishing? Lol really want to get in those mangroves.
I’m sure you can find one on Islamorada or Marathon 👍
I was out there yesterday, sharks were everywhere. They would even take my smallest shrimp.
I shy away from bait for that reason but apparently it’s the way to go. I’ll give it a go again!
What more or less is an acceptable wave height for kayak fishing ?
Anyone lol? 👀
It’s so regional. Interval of waves is really important too. Anything in the 5s range means the wind is cooking
@@EliasVFishing I’m mostly gonna be kayak fishing in the Florida keys

1:16:54 the mega snapper as you say is Cubara snapper take notice of the teeth differences couldn’t be happier for you
Gotta take a closer look. Haven’t gotten a cubera in a few years.

For sure the keys fish shut off like a light switch!!!
only negative from fishing in NC and then going to FL is live shrimp bait price
FYI Bahia Honda was loaded with Jack Cravalle and I saw a big bull shark. Would recommend staying away from there for now
White Buck Rail with a strip
👍😎✌
Better knock on wood, about gear.
So stupid to traumatize so many fish with no reason

Yo Elias jacks are all over Fla. From the Keys to Tampa and all the way up to Daytona Beach!😎
Bro you wanna catch monster Mangroves….come to Sanibel/Captiva. We catch 18””-21” Grovers on the regular here!😎
I must be fishing the wrong spots because I have been fishing Sanibel for 13 years, I have never seen an 18-21".But boat access is the key I guess.
@ yea you need a boat to get to where they are😎
