    Djin's "This is the way" to Bo telling her about his father wasn't "lack of humanity" to me it was the opposite. I saw it as he had to stop what he was doing (walking) to take a moment to put respect on the name. ✊ That's the highest salute he has

    As a fellow Mandalorian, Bo fully understood Din's response to hearing of her dad's death in battle. "This is the way" means more than merely "this is the way".

      Agreed. In my opinion, "This is the way" isn't Din lacking humanity, it's him acknowledging that fighting/dying with honor is noble, and that she should be proud of that.

      As a Mand'alorian him saying "This is the Way!" is the ultimate complement that any other Mand'alorian would understand, which caused Bo to tear up (hence "What are you lookin at?").

    remember the quote from the boba fett show
    “The songs of eons past foretold of the mythosaur rising up to herald a new age of Mandalore,” the Armorer tells Din “Sadly, it only exists in legends.”

  • @davewhitmore1958

    What I got from Din saying "This is the way" to Bo telling him about her father's death is that Din is saying he died as a Mandalore, true to the creed. Not that he didn't care about it

    Peli lost that tooth in The Book of Boba Fett during the fight with the two large battle droids... IG-11 and R5-D4 would make a great pair much like R2 and C3PO...just a thought. Now let's see a taming of the Mythosaur.

  • @erikolson4148

    I think that Din will be able to wield the Darksaber with much more ease now, because now that he's bathed in the Living Waters below the Mines of Mandalore, while reciting the Creed (don't think it'll be an issue that halfway or three quarters into the Creed that he fell/sank to the bottom 😅) a great mental and emotional weight has been lifted from his heart and mind 🤔😌.

  • @jensenrogers6611

    If you get around to watching the Clone Wars, Mary, you'll see Mandalore as it once was; with Bo-Katan's sister sitting on the throne as Duchess. She was a great leader of her people and has quite the story...with a certain jedi master.

      Her sister was a pacifist that moved the mandalorians from their Warrior culture, weakened the entire civilization which led to the Empire destroying them. We are all entitled to our opinions but I would not say she was a great leader.
      The mandalorians existed for tens of thousands of years and their downfall began with Sabine's rule.

      @hw2508 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Don't forget, they are warriors by upbringing. I don't know if "ending up together" in more than a co-oporational way is in scope of this show.
      This might be about re-uniting the Mandalorians and therefore a strong alliance between two of the major figures is important. But there are many episodes to come, who knows what will happen. Who will end up with the dark saber, etc. There is plenty of time for ups and downs and the Armorer wants to have her say into all this as well.

    Back in The Book of Boba Fett Pelli was thrown to the ground by an explosion and as she recovered she spit out a tooth.

    Something Bo has to understand is that the Creed means something to a good portion of their people. I noticed that Din never pushes back when he is told his religion is just words, which it very well might be. But he belives what he believes, and it means alot to him.

    • @epbrown01
      @epbrown01 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I think her story arc is learning to become a *true* Mandalorian, rather than a princess trained in rituals and traditions. That's what gives her pause when Din replies "This is the Way" when she talks about her father. What he did was noble - but it was also expected for a Mandalorian. When she understands what being a Mandalorian truly means, she'll stop brooding in her castle waiting for followers, and rebuild their world by herself if she has to.

    • @Carabas72
      @Carabas72 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thing about creeds if that throughout the years/decades/centuries/millennia, you get different, unreconcilable versions of it.
      Din's version of the Creed likely has a whole bunch of stuff about helmets that weren't in the original text.

      @@epbrown01 I’m not sure if you’ve seen Bo Katan’s arc in the Clone Wars, so I don’t want to really spoil anything if not. But I think her past is much more complex than the experience of her youth as a princess. I think she has lived a life of strong ideology and belief, and strong action, and gone through several iterations reconstructing what it means to her to be a Mandalorian. But right now she is in a period of disillusionment. I do agree that Din will probably help her to discover how to get to the next step to her path, and it will be very interesting to see!

      She didnt know, mythosaurs were thought to be loooong extinct, so far in legends and canon theres is not a single person alive that has seen one or even a full skeleton of one, some mandos wear pieces of their bones in their ancestral armor but seeing a mythosaur and seeing one alive is a huge deal for star wars lore. Nothing in the books, comics or games. All we knew of them were descriptions from mando stories that allowed some people to do some pretty nice fan art. As far as legit lore mythosaurs, if you look at the wiki, what we got this episode is all we have ever gotten.

    In Star Wars lore the R5 series of droids is a low-cost astromech of limited ability and dodgy reliability. Wookiepedia calls it, "A meter-tall stack of the worst business decisions you could possibly want." An R2 unit it is definitely not! And seeing as this one is on Tattooine, it is entirely possible that it's the one that Luke Skywalker's family almost bought before it had a breakdown, resulting in them getting R2-D2 instead.

    I just realized something that I think was missed. DIN was defeated in combat by the droid. He lost the Darksaber in the battle and Bo Katan defeated the droid that had effectively taken it from him. Bo Katan has unwittingly regained the Darksaber without even knowing she has done so. The only person that would even have an idea this is the truth would be Din himself. Wonder if this little nugget of information will play a role in a later episode. Possibly when reuniting the clans under one leader and proving who that leader is?

    You talk about Din Jarin and Bo-Katan having a partnership.
    So far it's him failing repeatedly so she can save him from certain death.
    I think the count is up to 5.
    Meaning Din would definitely have died 5 times except she saved him every time.
    So I think when the title says "The Mandalorian" it has always been about the true badass superhero Mandalorian all along: Bo-Katan Kryze.
    Din Jarin has simply crowded her out of her own story for 2.5 seasons.
    Until now.

    At 10:18 you suggested that Grogu is about 15 years old.
    He's actually in his 50s.
    He's old enough to qualify for a senior's discount at most restaurants.
    It's not your fault; the writers don't k now how old he is either.
    Half the time they make him act like an infant, to set ablaze ovaries all over the world and sell "baby" Grogu merchandise.
    The other half the time they almost seem to remember that he was trained in the Jedi Temple, probably at least some of the time by Yoda himself, certainly by other Jedi instructors as well.
    The series doesn't make it obvious, but Dave Filoni said in an interview that he spent a couple years with Luke before returning to Din Jarin.
    Grogu understand complex situations, responds to complex questions and sentences, and often acts much like a grownup.
    Even Luke gave him a very adult decision to make and let him make it like an adult rather than like an infant.
    Grogu is now more than half the age that Yoda was when Yoda became a Jedi Master and took his seat on the Jedi Council. Yoda didn't do that overnight, so naturally Yoda spent decades learning how to be a master at the temple and probably started at around the same age Grogu is now, or maybe a bit older.

      The symbol of Mandalore is a dead Mythosaur, not an alive one (well, just the skull, really).

    Grogu is 52 years old and as far as I know he can live to be over 900 years old 2 years passed while he trained with Luke so he did have 2 more years of Jedi training.

    She saved his life in this episode two times, in former episodes also two times. She can clearly wield the Dark Saber which is totally wasted in the hands of Din Djarin. How many times does she have to safe his life to get the Dark Saber? 😫
    I guess everybody wonders how the transfer of the Dark Saber will happen. Because clearly Mandalore is restorable to its former glory with Bo-Katan and her wielding the Dark Saber!
    And thats what everybody wants to see!

    • @PsPmoddedOUT
      @PsPmoddedOUT ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would you want Bo to have it? Din is the main character. She will likely teach him how to wield it properly because after seeing the mythosaur she probably thinks hes destined to rule now

    • @Caseytify

    Seems a bit uncharacteristic of Mando to knowingly put the kid in such danger. He usually leaves the kid with others (with Peli Motto, at the school on Nevarro, with the Frog lady, or tries to send him to safety with Kuiil) or he hides Grogu (ep. 6 The Prisoner) or he doesn’t know that there’s danger ahead (most other situations). This mission was obviously so very dangerous that he wanted IG-11 by his side.
