I pretty sure you are not correct about the function switch. If you have it in the on position it only disables the Receive Decode tone of 150 CPS the transceiver always transmits a 150 tone code regardless of position. ,if it's in the on position another 77 will still decode and hear you Regardless of there squelch position, also any of the old family radios PRC-10 and Prc 6 will be heard by the 77 as they don't have 150 CPS tones that was the purpose of the two different positions "on" equals old squelch but still transmits 150 CPS for any 77 or 524 that are listening.Jim KB1PFL
Hi Jim, Good to know, thanks for sharing that. I wasn't entirely sure how it behaved on the real thing. The video was meant to show how the ACRE2 mod had implemented the feature on the radio and how it could be expected to behave at the time the video was made. Beyond a quick look at the updated UI I've not had much opportunity to play with the 77 in ACRE2 since making this video so I can't say if it has been updated to behave more like you described or if it still behaves as described in the video. Given the age of the video, there have been a few updates to the mod over the last 3 years including an updated UI shown on the documentation page for the 77 acre2.idi-systems.com/wiki/radios/an-prc-77
Man the model looks cool but I saw some high detailed view of this, in-game it looks pretty shit because of the lighting. Other than the lighting it looks pretty neat!
Hey, a 3 year old comment! Yeah at the time I made this the 77 was a recent addition to ACRE2 and the UI was already being updated.
