This might just be my favorite song. I have a lot of songs I call masterpieces. But this is the one song that's been stuck in my mind for months ever since I first heard it. No matter how long it's been. This song has grabbed me unlike any other song has. Every other song that I've considered a masterpiece. I get it stuck in my head once and a while for a few days, but it always goes away. Not to mention it's usually just one or two parts of the song in my head. This song has never left and is still living rent free in my head. And almost every section of this song has been repeated in my mind multiple times. This might just be the true masterpiece of them all. All the praise to Voivod here.
agree 100%... when you see or hear about a "17 min" song you almost want to roll your eyes.., but this makes it seem like a 6 min song it goes by so quick and so amazing... I want this to be the next you tube reaction sensation... it is too damn good for people to not know about it... there is so much retro reactions this deserves a listen from any metal/rock fan... piggy was at his peak here (RIP)
A masterpiece. Progressive metal that, despite being 17 minutes long, doesn't overstay it's welcome. I've walked by this album a few times at the record store, but after listening to only this song I won't walk past it again.
9:56 - 11:10 Going from that short more traditional Rock & roll solo and fading into those dissonant ascending chords is eargasmic and pure Metal bliss to my ears. Not the most complex part, but talk about knowing how to mix your guitar leads and rhythms to create a mindblowing piece .I dont think ive heard anyone more adept at creating "out of this world" soundscapes like Piggy. Im facinated more and more by this mans playing. RIP

This was the only band I would call comic book metal. Listening to the song on this album was like a comic story, and even the booklet had pictures to go with it. The band did all the artwork themselves. Voivod was bad ass.
I would have called it dystopian space opera metal. Especially this song. It's almost not even a song anymore but one of those 1960s BBC drama readings, just with more music

I was telling a friend that our very first CD was The Outer Limits from Voivod. So of course I had to go to youtube to see if there's anytthing here. This is GREAT. Haven't listened to it in many years!
I used to listen to an internet radio show in the early 2000s that was all prog, all the time. The host of the show was a guy called Jack Luminous. Great track BTW. It's the type of prog/metal I wish Rush would've done.
